God bless you Ann. I think Slabcagges idea of you asking to walk him with your daughter, would be lovely for you all, and for the doggie. What's his name?
Ann
Oh, they know how we feel about about it all, it was made quite clear to them , and yes, we will be checking on him to make sure he is being looked after!
lf2000
not caught up but just saw this story on facebook.... if they dont care about the dog i would have asked if they wanted him back... if you were prepared to keep him.. knowing me i would prob knock and see how he is and if not interested still offer him a home :)))
slabcabbage
Ann,
What a shame that they didn't try to find him,
is it possible for you to ask them if they would allow you to walk him for them as you and your young daughter had be come so fond of him,
this way you can keep a check on him.
just a thought.

Oh Ann, I do feel for you but you have done the right thing although it seems so hard.....
Thank you for caring for him until the owners were found xxx
Goldenfrodo
I feel so sad for you and your daughter. Its always seems wrong when somebody loses a lovely dog like this one and doesnt do anything to try to find him.
Well done for looking after him xx
I'll move him into the Blue now.
Ann
I got a phone call Saturday afternoon from the owners of this beutiful dog who lives just 1/2 mile away from us, and I am sorry to say, they admitted doing nothing i.e ringing authorities, vets, dogwardens stc to try and find him!! It took someone else to see my poster in the local shop to inform them I had him! Was so sad to take him back to someone who doesnt really care that he had been lost for a week, but we had too! Thankyou to everyone on here for your support.
Goldenfrodo
As I understand it, as long as you've notified all the authorities, which it looks as though you have done, then after 28days, if his owner doesnt come forward then he's yours.
Good luck xx
Ann
My young daughter has been taking him for a walk across fields everyday before school and he is so good, I dont know how long we have to wait incase his owners do decide he is missing before we can tell her she can keep him, does anyone know?
DogLostReynard
Well he has done his 7day so very happy he will be safe , THANKS Ann xxx
Ann
Well....one week on and still no news from his owners so he is still here with us!
muns

DogLostReynard
Well done Ann looks like your doing ALL the right things , glad you found Its a Springthing :)
Ann
we found him wandering across a main road, apparently he had been wandering about there for at least 3 hours before we rescued him, we have done everything we can to find his owners, it is up to them now, cant do any more, every authority has his description and my phone number in case they report him missing!
Mal
Thats so kind of you Ann, did you find him wandering or maybe he was dumped? Its great that he is happy with your dogs! Mal
Ann
I think he is too old to be rehomed through a rescue centre so we would be happy to keep him if it comes to that, he is here with us now and happy!
Mal
He looks such a charcacter and as you say is very friendly, if he isnt claimed are you thinking about a rescue place or have you room to keep the boy? mal
Ann
Thankyou!
DogLostReynard
Cross posted this lovely boy to its a springthing (Spaniel Forum), lets hope someone recognises him xxx
Ann
yes, have checked with all local vets, but nobody recognised him!
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
Hi Ann. Have you checked with local vets to see if anyone recognises him? I wonder if he belongs to an old person who can't get out to notify people? So glad he has someone as kind and caring as you lokking after him in the meantime x
Ann
I have checked with dog wardens and police again and still nobody is reporting him missing!
Ann
He is fairly plump and loves a cuddle so has obviously been cared for at some time, he also likes other dogs as he is getting on well with ours!
BBKM
Poor baby, he does look sad but its great you are taking care of him Ann. Hope he has a good family to go home to, do you think he has been well cared for? x
Ann
ie Zaksmum....He is ok, we are looking after him at our home and he has settled down well but just hope his owners come forward soon so we can reunite them
Zaksmum
Poor little fella looks so sad and frightened. I do hope he's reunited soon with someone who cares about him.
