This dog was abandoned on Capel Crescent Pillgwenlly, Newport, by the nursery. Does anyone knows whose dog this is?
He has been collected by the police and taken to Summerhill Vets. Thank you to the group of residents who helped him also to the 2 officers who carefully put him in their van. People were openly crying at the state of this poor lad. He didn't get like that overnight, so someone left him to suffer appallingly before discarding him like an old shoe. Even though he was obviously in a lot of pain, and hungry he was still very trusting to the people who were helping him. I really hope whoever it is gets the punishment they so richly deserve.
UPDATE
I have phoned Summerhill and he is resting, warm and calm. They are going to treat his skin problem and his emaciation. I was unable to get any more information than that, but he is safe and warm.
UPDATE
Regarding earlier update - he is still at Summerhill, the RSPCA have been informed, he is now being treated with intravenous antibiotics to clear up his infected skin and he is comfortable.
UPDATE
Summerhill has had a lot of offers for donations to help with his care and treatment.
UPDATE
Anyone who knows the name of the 'owner' of this dog can contact Gwent Police on 101

Not sure if this could be your missing Dogue De Bordeaux. He's listed as sighted on the found section from the same part of the country as your missing one? http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog-blog.php?dogId=48031

All the dogs in this folder are in council pounds who have been picked up as strays and have not been claimed by their owners. We have no history on any of these dogs so that means we can not say how they are with other dogs or cats or children, This is the main reason we can not home direct to the public. The other re...

A male DDB was posted on gumtree as found in the Leicester area and we have tried to get the finder to post on Doglost but not done so. The finder did send a photo to https://www.facebook.com/groups /260020417397277/ Murphy the missing Mastiff's page to eliminate him as the advert posted found dog as a Mastiff. You can see the photo of the found dog on there and check if it could be Arthur. A long shot but worth a look I hope. The found dog has raised ears. I am sorry but I am rubbish at knowing if photos are a good match. Last edited: 2012-04-04 09:15:17 by reggiemollieros

Still no news on Arthur...

I have spoken to the owner (not the creator) who has contacted everyone and lots of posters have been put up. He has had the dog from being a pup so lots of people in the area do know him. He hasnt yet been picked up by the Salford Dog Wardens (thanks for re posting his details Emma). Have suggested to visit MDH incase he has been picked up and taken out of the area.
Thanks for the posting JeffandAlfsmummy, sadly thats not Arthur :)

Thanks Jayne for doing the alerts.

Admin
Sorry to see that ARTHUR is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (35975)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
