Bisto's owner has confirmed the one found below isn't him as Bisto has a white blaze on his face.
Sarah Mahony
Sadly, this dog is not Bisto. He had a white blaze on his face. Many thanks though. We still miss him very much. S

Someone has drawn attention to this Whippet that has been found today - could it be?

Is there any news on BISTO please? x
Gillian
This may be a long shot but someone has posted on another page that there has been a whippet picked up in Bedford in very malnourished condition and taken to Appledown Kennels in Dunstable. Sex or colour isn't known but it might be worth getting in touch with the kennels. You never know x
The girls!
Theres a dog in the found section 36142 in NN7 kennel ID29 described as a lurcher - seems to have some white on its chest but photo shows the off side rather than like this picture of Bisto thats the nearside

Advertised in this weeks Countrymans Weekly magazine. I hope it brings some news
Gillian
Oh, that's a shame, but good for the one who was found and re-united :)
Shereen
Thanks Gillian....I have traced the found dog in Question (35749)through Bracknell council and it was reunited with its owner so not Bisto im afraid.
Gillian
Is it worth trying the Dog Warden for the Wokingham area as that's where it says the found whippet was found? Unlikely, I know, but there could have been a mix up with the numbers! 01189 746356
Shereen
I have emailed the person on the page to see if we can get to the bottom of this.
Gillian
How strange. Hope you can find out where this story came from.
B30
Sarah has phoned the number of the found dog and they have no record of having a Whippet in so we have to look into where this information came from and where the dog might possibly be now.
B30
Bisto is still missing and owner is aware of the found dog but cannot check it out until they open again tomorrow.
B30
Msg left to see is Bisto is still missing and if so to check the msgs on this page
Gillian
Does anyone know if Bisto's owner has checked the found whippet out? Does sound a similar dog and not too far away either.

35749 - A whippet has been found in Wokingham. Not much info given, just that it is dark brown & black and wearing a blue collar. However, it does say that this dog is not microchipped but chips can move and may not be detected. It's got to be worth checking out xx

Where was he last seen! We live in hermitage to and go walking in the woods all the time! Can I ask have you tried the travellers in oare? They always have lots of whippets/ lurchers and always ask if my whippet is for sale!!! He looks just like yours
Sarah Mahony
OK will do.
B30
Sarah as you've had no more sightings someone might have caught him and taken him in. Many people don't realise that it's law to report found dogs to the authorities so make sure you have loads of posters up and hopefully if someone has got him they'll see one.
DogLostRiverlady
Have put Bisto on twitter + will circulate.
Sarah Mahony
Thank you all for getting in touch and helping. Unfortunately, I have no further news so all help is really welcome. X Sarah. PS. I called both numbers for Honeybottom kennels and left a message. Had no reply and will try again to make sure they got it.

Bisto is still missing. There was a sighting not too far away from him home on 15 December. Info and advice emailed owner plus scenting instructions in case he's still around the area.

Christina, if he's still loose he might now come when called now as he's been out for a while but very often dogs will come to other dogs. He had no collar and tag on. Thanks for helping with the posters and for keeping a look out.

Hello
Any news? If not I will put a poster in post office & village shop & row barge pub in midgham / woolhampton. Did he have a collar or tag? With contact no?
Is bisto likely to come to a stranger if called?
I walk with my dogs in bucklebury common so will keep a look out
Good luck

Sorry to see that BISTO is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (35529)

  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
