Still no word of Hughie. I have a friend who works for the RSPCA and whose wife works at Battersea and they have been very supportive. I can only guess that someone has taken him in and hope that if they have they are treating him good. I soooo miss him and there is never a day goes past that I dont shed a tear for him but Dudley (his pal) and I just soldier on. Lossing him has changed my life forever.....

COPIED FROM A POST ON 32206
Apologies for posting here as unlikely to be connected to this case but may be relevant to other lost spaniels. Some travellers were evicted from a site just outside Brighton a few months ago & were camped out in parks all over the city. They were selling puppies mainly jack russells but someone has told me they were also selling pedigree spaniels.x

OOooooh Scrabble! - you so deserve to get your little boy back. Are you going round the vets - in person, requesting they put his piccie up in the middle of their notice boards? I've tried and tried to get the owners of missing dogs in the S.E. to have a meeting. There are SO MANY of you (sadly) now, together you could do so much more. You'd get more noticed, make a lot more noise, hold rallies, with sandwich boards, massive posters, target townhalls, top police officers/chief superintendants,/busy shopping areas, big groups of you together, contact local press, local t.v. - imagine 50 owners, 50 massive posters, all saying DOG STOLEN, OR DO U KNOW WHERE MY DOG IS? OR REWARD FOR MY DOG? I'd even stand outside No.10, all very newsworthy if lots of you and your families all quietly protest. Even all put money in a kitty, you could pay for a National paper full page, probably negotiate for free editorial . Think if your doggies each had a boxed picciee with name and contact tel. no. underneath. Bound to get invited onto t.v. Contact Bruce Forsythe. He helped his daughter get her 2 stolen dogs back a few years agao, with Doglost's help, - maybe he or his daughter would help? Your little man is such a cutie. Another idea, if you could get these owners together, you could also pay a private detective. Just LOOK how many of you have had your doggies taken in the last year. and that's just on this website! 'UNITED WE STAND' ...keep saying it and think about going for it!Last edited: 2011-12-27 19:30:33 by Neighbark

Response from schools has been awesome. One has put Hughie on Twitter - I know doglost did it but she did it too. I have now been contacted by the Harrow Observer who are going to do an article on Hughie. I spoke to the reporter who is very positive about it all and supportive. Also finally got contacted by Neighborhood police who are going to help with handing out posters.

Also worth postering pet shops in area? I know Pets at Home in Colindale have put posters up in the past, unfortunately my printer not working at moment.

Keep up the good work, you are doing really well in spreading the word, fingers crossed here and I am still looking out and letting friends in the area know about Hughie.x

Well done scrabble, you are doing all the right things. Thank you for your call regarding the suggestion about Google translate. This would be a very useful tool for the website & I have passed this on to DL admin.

I have e-mailed every school in the borough and already had a positive response from one head teacher. Schools e-mail addresses are found on the council websites. Will let you know how successful this is.

I have just got back from Battersea. Definitely woth visiting them in perdon as they were useless on the fone. I did Wembley today by poster and my Polish friend is translating the poster for me as a lot of Polish in the area. I find bus shelters good for posters - they don't get wet and lots of people read them as nothing else to do. Watford and Denham are on my list.... Thanx for your help.

I am in Kingsbury, walk a lot with my dogs so will keep a look out. You are doing everything you can and hope for good news soon. Have you let Animal Welfare Trust in Watford know? Local cab firms and street cleaners are also worth contacting, but mostly poster everywhere as others are saying.x

I have now put up posters everywhere, notified Pet Log, petwatch, all the vets in the area and beyond, dog wardens in 4 boroughs and finally Battersea has confirmed receipt of my details. My friend on her way over and we are going to Battersea tomorrow as I'm told there is no room in the Mayhew. Posters in all local businesses & offices. All that's left to do now is pray.........

I have notified local businesses, school kids, neighbors, other dog walkers, Neighborhood Watch, Mayhew Animal home, Brent Animal Welfare, Brent Dog Warden, RSPCA lost dogs line, Battersea Dogs Home and my friend is printing posters on Neighborhood Watch paper.Guess its just a waiting game now. I've got a list of websites from the RSPCA that I'm going to register him on as well. Tried to talk to the milkman but not interested. Been to local shops. Anything else I should do? Guess it's a waiting game now.........

Sorry to see that HUGHIE is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (34852)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
