Have spoken to owner and her friend is going to collect Toby in the morning. LesleyG has been a helper on doglost for years and never thought this would happen to her...she thanks everyone for all their help...and is naturally very upset...Lesley has my number if she needs to talk.

Angus - Just to clarify - It wasn't my boyfriend that found him and did the calling around, he was just on track with the guy that did find him, and rang me up to tell me they'd found him.
Lesley - Ok, no probs, but if you change your mind the offer is there. I hear she didn't answer when the guy delivered Toby, so he's in the garden.

Lesley, if you would rather he came back to somewhere else, I'm more than happy to help out I live on the planets estate in Leighton Buzzard, and I'm sure my boyfriend would get involved at his end, and bring him here for you. Just a thought, but you've probably got too many thoughts going on at the moment. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Thanks to all of you. Toby is being sent to Evelyns house where she's expected to keep our little man safe until we can get him. She isn't aware this is happening. She won't answer her mobile or landline, and hasn't answered her door. I can't believe this has happened. I don't know what to say. Just thanks to everybody who tried, and someone who succeeded.

I am so so sorry and sad to report this, but my boyfriend is working on the railway in Leighton Buzzard tonight & I asked him to keep an eye out, and it is true they have found a dog. What a Nightmare xxx. please get in touch if you need any more info, or want my boyfriends number.

Have just had a call from a track maintenance worker to say a dog of similar description to Toby was found deceased on the track. Have passed on his number to the owners who are going to check and will ring me back later.

If you haven't already, the out hours dog warden number for central beds is 08444828337, which also covers Aylesbury as well. If the dog is collected it will go to appledown kennels if found in the CBC area. If anyone hands in to Ark house they normally contact appledown straight away. Hope this info helps. Please also report to council mon morning on 0300 300 8000 as it is being covered as the normal dog warden is on annual leave.

Thank you! We're going to call around the shelters local to the area tomorrow. We're not clear on who's been contacted (we thought Appledown had been contacted already) so we're going to call around everywhere we can think of tomorrow. The boarder has posted 250 leaflets/posters through doors, 20-odd have been posted on boards/lamp-posts/etc, and she's just printed another 300 to post through doors.

Have posted to my facebook pages & emailed poster to Ark House and posted on their facebook group, I presume that you have spoken to Appledown Rescue 01525 220383, they normally point people towards us and check site regularly

Thanks Angus, I've got the number in my mobile. I'll give them a call tomorrow, along with other vets I've been unable to call and some other rescues. No news on Toby yet. The boarder has gone out to put more posters/leaflets through some doors, and she'll continue the search tomorrow morning. Two days before we can come home to find Toby. COME HOME TOBY! xxxxx
