I had the best day - got to go to the police station and identify Mabel, and bring her back to the kennels (after a long walk round and round the police station grounds!) at last will be able to sleep soundly tonight. thanks to everyone for their concern, suggestions and poster distribution.

Have just found out that before you take a dog for a walk, you have to sign in. Unfortunately the person who stole Mabel gave false details. Perhaps some ID would be better such as passport, driving license etc?

WHAT DO YOU KNOW OF HER BACKGROUND AND HOW SHE WAS FOUND. HAD SHE ESCAPED FROM THESE PEOPLE AND THEY TRACED HER AND IS THIS WHY SHE CAN BE DOG AGGRESSIVE.2.SIMILAR THING HAPPENED IN THE NORTH WEST WHERE A DOG WAS TAKEN FOR A WALK AND NOT BROUGHT BACK. HE WAS FOUND AND IF YOU HAVE'NT SEEN THE STORY IT IS ON RE-UNITED PAGE 2 AND THE DOGS NAME IS CARLOS. WHAT STRUCK ME WAS THE SIMILARITY BETWEEN THE 2 PEOPLE WHO STOLE THE DOGS AND MAKES YOU THINK ARE THEY CONNECTED-PERHAPS A RING NOW TARGETING KENNELS. IM WISHING YOU LOTS OF LUCK IN YOUR SEARCH.

i have made prelim. inquiries with the rspca - i'll keep you posted. meanwhile, some sick **** keeps sending me txts pretending they know something, when clearly they don't. thanks for your concern anyway. have sent details to a load more vets today. also phoned the wolves police, but they can't interfere if the case 'belongs' to telford police. grrrrrr!

HI AGAIN, HAVE YOU BEEN IN TOUCH WITH THE RSPCA? IF YOU THINK SHE HAS BEEN TAKEN FOR SOME UNTHINKABLE MOTIVE THEY MAY HAVE SOME IDEA OF WHERE SHE COULD BE AND MIGHT ALSO TAKE SOME ACTION. THEY SHOULD FEEL SOME CONCERNS FOR MABEL.

I know you have pestered the papers - but was that by email ? Only sometimes it is better to actually speak to someone as you can get your case over a lot clearer. I am so suprised that they are not helping in this case. I just hope Mabel is safe - although I have an awful feeling about this one. Bless her heart - she must be so frightened. X

Thanks Sue. More than a week now... we are putting publicity out everywhere we can think of. can't understand why the papers haven't done stories tho - we have pestered them, and they're not normally shy of animal stories!

Is anybody able to help put up posters in Wolverhampton on Wednesday night. A couple of the girls from the kennels are going and would appreciate some extra help if anybody has a couple of hours. Yes dewilliams, police informed and next to useless as usual. Telford is in Shropshire but yes still in the Midlands area. So much of this dreadful activity everywhere nowadays and they seem to get away with it.

I SEEM TO REMEMBER A STAFFIE DOG BEING FOUND IN THE RIVER IN WORCESTOR LAST YEAR WHOSE INJURIES SUGGESTED DOG FIGHTING. I THINK TELFORD IS IN THE SAME AREA SO WONDERED IF POLICE/RSPCA ARE AWARE OF SUCH ACTIVITIES IN THESE AREAS. ARE THE POLICE AWARE THAT SHE WAS STOLEN FROM THE KENNELS?

Hope Mabel is safe. A dog fighting ring went on not TOO far from where I live, fortunately they were caught, unfortunately, the punishment wasn`t much (cant remember exactly what) I do know that it was just like a "Slap on the wrist" Hope someone finds her and gets her back where she belongs. Personally I think we live in a sick society and discipline and respect should be brought back. But that`s another story.......... Stay safe Mabel until you are foundxxxxx God keep you safe.

Cats protection have issued a warning about people in a van stealing cats in the Lawley area. One person reportedy had hers forcibly stolen from her arms. One might ask why?

Mabel was stolen from Hilbrae on Tuesday, about 1pm. A man asked to take her for a walk, and whilst nobody was looking loaded her into his car and took her!!! She is not suitable around any other animals and is also on medication for a heart condition. Without this she could become seriously ill!!! A man who goes by the name of Leon took Mabel, he is around 20years, mixed race, distinctive green eyes, He came with two women, roughly in their 20's, one of them was carrying a baby in a carrier. They possibly drive a silver audi or fiesta. They think he has connections in the Wolverhampton area. He has previously walked up to a man in a park in wolverhampton and commented on how nice his staffies were!! Mabel was stolen when taken out for a walk by a dog walker, he had previously walked her so knew what she was like, he may have had someone lined up to take her once he had her. Mabel is dog aggressive and might be in the illegal dog fighting circles.
