- is there any news on Jake? We walk our two dogs around Hetton Lake and live in the area and its the first i've known about this. Has there been posters put up near the lake in the past? - I will gladly put some up myself if it will help - passing on my thoughts to Jakes family xLast edited: 2011-10-10 19:48:27 by Bernise

- I've just phoned Jake's owner. She has checked out both these found dogs and sadly neither of them are him.
Lots of posters have been put up and all authorities notified, but still no positive news of this lovely boy.
I've now advised owner to check the Highways Dept. in case he's been involved in an accident.
Fingers crossed he'll be found safe soon. - 2011-10-02 17:23 BBKM
- Any news here if either of these 2 dogs is Jake, fingers crossed hope one is him x

- Roone you are doing the right thing to keep postering, someone will maybe see a poster and think thats the dog a neighbour has just getting. Fingers crossed he is sighted again soon. I will keep crosschecking all the dogs found/for sale websites. Good luck xx

- Any news on Jake x

- Never give up hope roone, Jake will still be out there somewhere, and if no one has taking him in, his survival instincts will have kicked in now so he is in survival mode. Dogs are very clever, lets hope you get another sighting very soon xx

- No more confirmed sightings since 10/09 in Hawthorn. No confirmation of dog on A19, checked with Middlesbrough council they took German Shepherd in soon after sighting but wasn't Jake, so this could be a red herring but can't rule it out either.
Going to bombard surrounding towns and villages to Hawthorn today with posters: Seaham, Easington Colliery, Blackhall, Howden etc.
Still not giving up hope... - 2011-09-17 10:43 BBKM
- Any more sightings of Jake x
- 2011-09-14 23:23 coralvb
- I am really sorry but I have not been able to find out any more info about the sighting. I will keep trying for you though. I so hope it is him.x

- Thanks everyone for your help so far, I really hope this is Jake.
A more accurate description would be great and help us confirm that its actually him or some other poor dog on the loose.
Does he still have his harness and lead?

- I have rung Jakes owners to tell them of this. It is just annoying that the post didn't appear on the Facebook page until about an hour ago. He will have moved on from here now probably. Hope at lesst it points some direction.

- This has got to be Jake. I am so worried for this boy as he is too near the A19. Has any search been organised yet for him? also keep informing the dog warden of any sightings, check he hasn't been caught xx

- This has just been posted on a missing dogs page on Facebook.
"Lisa Stevenson spotted an Alsatian on the A19 coming off at Norton running at the side of the road, it was just before 11am. It had also been spotted by Kirstt Marie Scotchbrooke earlier near the North Shore School at 9am this morning. No other details available." Could it be another sighting of Jake?

- Any news of Jake, and have you got any of the times that he was sighted please x
- 2011-09-11 18:46 roone
- Yeah all his details upto date, have given out posters today at Dalton Park and nearby garden centre. Spoke to several people who've spotted him, one thought he was a police dog on the loose so was scared to approach. Just hope he tires himself out so that someone can approach him and get hold of him.
Going back to place he was lost to leave his blanket in hope that he might sniff it out, only thing is his last sighting was several miles away now.Last edited: 2011-09-11 18:47:24 by roone - 2011-09-11 18:22 hello janey

- Hoping Jake is found soon! Have Farmers in the areas Jake has been sighted, been informed, posters etc,so they know he is a lost dog and not a dog left to wander and roam their fields to cause mischief.......just to be safe!

- When a dog is lost he tends to travel in a triangle, trying to find his way home. I have pin pointed these sightings of Jake on a google map and he has formed a triangle. Keep looking along his triangle lines, check all used/unused barns, sheds, out buildings, he will have chosen somewhere for his den to rest in. If you don't get sightings for a few days it may mean he has ventured a little further away but he should come back to his triangle also if there are no posters up you get no calls. If you can get out looking at dusk and dawn as this is when a dog usually starts to move. Make sure you get your posters up all around the area as they are crucial for sightings to be reported. Good luck, I will keep watching Jake's page. If you have an email address I will send you the map if you want. Good luck x
