Wish I was nearer Linda (am in the puppy farming capital of Wales) to help you. At least you are still getting sightings even if they are a bit luke warm.

Could this be the white van man from before who was seen stopping when she was sighted?

Have asked for mailings to be sent out for the Oban area.

Dog Warden was worse than unhelpfull, did not even know anything about Eva despite info seemingly sent to him from Council offices. Anyway my head is spinning now as received a phonecall tonite from lady who was certain she spotted Eva with a man in Lochgilphead. Lady said she did not recognise man from village and if he was travelling then he may go towards Oban. I know I should be trying to investigate this sighting but I am so unsure as to how certain she was. Lynda
ps Is there any Doglost helpers living in Oban area?? I have emailed posters to Vets in Oban tonite

Helpful Dog Warden then!

Eva still npt found but at least she has been sighted and still in the area she went missing from. This gives me hope again as I had given up

I have just had a phone call from Lynda!! She has received a call from a lady who saw Eva on Tuesday, Eva was in the St Catherines Road between the Caravan Site & Loch Goilphead Road! Lynda is on her way back to the area now! The lady has just seen a Poster :0) Please keep everything crossed she's still in the area & comes out to her mum!

There was a small white van pulled up behind her, but Lynda & I doubt she would have been caught by a stranger!

lyndascresteds
Thank you Ratel. I am trying hard to keep thinking positive but its difficult as there has not even been a sighting of my little one since the day she got off her lead.
Ratel
How I wish I was nearer to help practically with this one, having dealt with highly nervous hairless dogs for many years. What I will say is that Cresteds are much tougher than they look: Eva WILL be out there somewhere so please keep going, Lynda. I feel for you so much.
crazycrest
Eva now has her own Facebook page, hoping to get the word out far & wide! Cheryl.

Hi Sianworth, speaking on behalf of the owner ( Lynda ) I very much doubt Eva would come out to bigger dogs right now, but any help at all will be gratefully received, if you're walking that area anyway anything is worth a try as there have still been no sightings, one of your collies may well stumble upon her by chance & that would at least give us something to go on! Many thanks for the offer, I know Lynda will appreciate it :0) Cheryl.
Sianworth
Is she likely to come to another dog, I could bring a couple of very dog friendly Border Collies to the area tomorrow afternoon if it helps.
buffysmum
Sorry Eva is not back home yet. Fingers crossed someone has picked her up. You have to keep her in everyones mind. What about an ad in local paper or ring the local press to see if they will do a little article. She is not a very common breed. Make sure posters have not been taken down. I know schools have broken up but if you know of summer activity clubs make sure they have posters/flyers. Above all try and keep your spirits up and yes I know easier said than done.Go to bus stations/train stations, make sure all local shops have a flyers and speak to people everywhere you go. Do not give up! Have you read Rubys' story, it should give you hope. Come on l'il Eva make your Mums day. x

Sorry Eva hasn't been found yet. We were in the Argyll area when she went missing and may be heading back this weekend so will keep an eye out for her. How about contacting the Royal mail, the local postmen go all over. Also the petrol station at Strachur. Good luck

Still no news about my girl. I have emailed posters to surrounding vet clinics etc..also Dunoon observer Is there anything else I could do Thanks
lyndascresteds
Hi Buffysmum I stopped at least 10 miles from area and started placing posters but I am going to go back hopefully Tuesday with laminated ones from Doglost as I just made them myself at work and no photo on Lynda
buffysmum
Lynda, have you saturated the area with posters , if she is really timid she may not let anyone near her, but hopefully someone is taking care of her and posters are going to really help. Fingers crossed for you.
lyndascresteds
Thank you all for your heart felt concerns. I had no sightings of my girl throughout the night. I have left some of my clothes around the area as well asscent trail. I do not even know for sure she is still in the wooded area she ran into. I can only hope now for someone to phone and say they have seen her and then I can start the search again. The only way I am getting through this is believing that someone has her in their home as I do not want to imagine the worst
buffysmum
Poor Eva, I do hope she is back soon. Probably a bit tougher than she looks. Come on sweetie, time to call off the adventure. Have FB'd & Tweeted.Last edited: 2011-07-17 11:52:37 by buffysmum

Sable - Thank you! Owner is overnighting in area & scenting once quiet after dark, will be leaving a food trail back to car! Please keep everything crossed this works, these dogs are devils to catch once frightened!
DogLostLostdogs ScotlandSable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
Have spoken to Eva's owner and given advice on scenting etc. Eva is most likely hiding there somewhere.

Thank you Still no sighting of Eva. I have contacted 3 hotels and another caravan park within the area and left details. Forestry Commission is not opened till Monday. My friend at St Catherines caravan site have also spoken to local dog kennels and left information as kennel owner stated any dogs picked up by Dog Warden goes there. I am going to travel back later today and walk/ sit in the forestry area shouting her name. I am so upset I cannot think of anything else to do. Lynda (Eva's owner)

Sorry to see that EVA is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (31092)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
