I've also posted this on Mia's original page. Today I've been to visit Mia and her mum and dad Doreen and Steven. Understandably it has been, and still is, a very emotional time - getting Mia from the kennels wasn't exactly straightforward but I'm sure Steven will post an update when he's able. At the moment Mia is very unsettled and clingy and her skin condition isn't good, but with time, medication and the love of her mum and dad she can only improve. It was just lovely to see her back home where she belongs, with her family.

Doreen and Steven, it was lovely to see you and thanks for the brew - and once again WELCOME HOME MIA!!Last edited: 2011-06-14 16:53:52 by Tigermouse

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC news. What an exciting day for everyone. Thank you to everyone who sent texts and tried to ring while I was in work. Managed to speak to Sarah (Doreen’s daughter) who had also rang with the news. Mia travelled back with Joe her sole mate (he is in the photo with her on her other page ID28333).

Everyone has worked so hard and it has paid off good style. This goes to prove exactly what we always recommend DO NOT RELY ON A CHIP, great when they work but not when they are missed.

Family can get back to some normality now and get well earned rest, but it is going to take a while for Mia to get back to normal, we all know she is in the best place now and back with her family who love her so much.

Would like to thank each and everyone of you who has helped but would like to say a special THANK YOU and WELL DONE to Gashunguru who registered her found details and supplied them most important photo/s. You are a true star and have a lot to be thanked for.

So pleased Doreen and Steve have got the result they and everyone wanted and worked so hard for especially after the traumatic weekend, when they had set off and had to turn back due to setbacks.

Look forward to the REUNITED photo/s when family have come down from cloud nine. A massive WELCOME HOME Mia wishing you a speedy recovery and great to see you in the BLUE. Lots and lots of hugs and cuddles from everyone on DL. Jan x

So happy.....well spotted Puddies.........hope Mia makes a full recovery.

Yes - posted earlier but actually wanted to say what a pity she wasn't allowed the visit last Friday - she could have gone home then. Common sense - and compassion would have gone a very long way Mr/Ms Dog Warden. I'm so pleased this found girl was posted last week - who knows what would have happened if she hadn't been. Congratulations to all those concerned who helped her to be reunited with her family. xxLast edited: 2011-06-13 16:56:46 by jobadger

Brilliant news. gives hope to all those other owners with dogs that have been missing a long time. Shame on the RSPCA / DW for wanting to put dogs down after 7 days.

lf2000
hi all... just an update from ddbr&r... please thank everyone for there kind words about us, xx ok mia/ruby, the dog warden has been told that as this dogues ownership is still to be decided they cannot make any decisions regarding her future until she has been viewed by her possible owner, also she is currently on medication to releve the itching of the mange so she is cumfortable, in the event that ruby is not mia then ddbr&r will be bringing her into our own rescue and bringing her back to full health before rehoming her in a fully vetted home, if she does come here we will be doing a daily update on her progress xxxx
lf2000
they will defo step in if its not mia... they have offers for a home and treatment already - they have a waiting list i think but all rel' forms etc have to be filled in and home checked... though i think its among a ddb clan anyway....lol.. but still always find the right home for the right dog... they are ready and waiting to hear on monday whats going on :)Last edited: 2011-06-11 19:39:38 by lf2000

SURELY DDB RESCUE AND REHOMING WILL STEP IN IF ITS NOT MIA? BUT IT WOULD BE SO NICE IF IT WAS HER. AFTER ALL HER SUFFERING IT WOULD BE SO CRUEL TO JUST BE PTS.

I hope Ruby is getting some medical treatment already and they are not neglecting her at the kennels just because they think she's only got seven days. I am willing to make a donation towards her treatment.
pointerlover
Any news on how this little darling is today?Sending lots of love and hugs to Ruby/Mia xxxx
pointerlover
Cant believe this! With so many strays and homeless dogs out there you would think the DW would be extatic that poor Ruby/Mia stood the chance of being reunited with her family especially as she is so poorly, and that she would do everything she could to make this happen as soon as possible.Disgraceful!!!!
BBKM
Terrible the way Mia's owners have been treated, where is the care and compassion from the dog warden and kennels??? Lets hope Ruby is Mia and all the pain and suffering for Mia and her owners will end on Monday.
Wardens know that microchips can move and they should scan from head to toe.
Puddies
I know what you mean, hopefully ruby (or Mia) will recognise her owners if it is them, microchips are a fantastic tool but are not 100% reliable, I had my cat microchipped several years ago, it was picked up a year later but when I took her back in a month ago, it couldnt be picked up on 2 different scanners... My dogs microchip has migrated round to her chest, so unless the scanner is moved around to her front instead of the usual scanning pattern of between the shoulders and down the back hers isnt easy to pick up either!Last edited: 2011-06-10 15:04:12 by Puddies
lf2000
im hoping that when they see ruby/mia she will know them... its gonna be hard....how do you defo determin if this is mia... i can see the warden being a hard nut to crack.... lets hope she does show some compassion on monday.
Puddies
Thank you, Ive now found it, oh dear, how heart breaking for Mias owners not to be able to find out today, it's going to be a long weekend for them, my thoughts are with them, good luck for Monday, the fact that poor ruby has no fur left means that markings etc will be difficult to match!

FINGERS/PAWS CROSSED FOR GOOD NEWS.
lf2000
ready and waiting for some good news!!
Puddies
In a way, i guess it would explain why this poor girly hasnt received veterinary attention, as mentioned previously by someone on here,if she is stolen who ever stole her would have been unable to take her to a vets for treatment in case her microchip was picked up?...which is only slightly more palatable then a long term negelectful owner, but heres hoping x
lf2000
if this is mia when you compare the two pics of healthy and this one its just unbelievable isnt it.
BBKM
Me to having a cry, can't bear to think what this little girl has been through, i have just been to Mia's page and so hoping Ruby is her, please God let it be xxx
bossyboots
Oh this poor girl! I have 2 dogue de bordeauxs and seeing this is heartbreaking enough but to think it might be Mia, I am sat here crying, mostly from joy but also thinking of what this poor girl has had to go through before she was found. Why are some people so cruel!

POSTED on Steve's FB page an hour ago by Simone Holmes-Gwillim - I've just spoken with Doreen (Mia's owner) and she has tried calling the kennels, no answer, so a message has been left. her husband has e-mailed them and I'm about to message them on facebook. They're going to the kennels tomorrow morning and will keep us posted. Mia is 2 tomorrow can you believe :-) What a fabulous ending this would be if it is Mia :-)) xx
......................

Wishing Doreen and Steve lots of luck for tomorrow, they won't be getting much sleep tonight. Jan x

have just got back in from work, im glad everyone thinks there's a chance it might be Mia as well! Fingers and paws crossed here xLast edited: 2011-06-09 18:47:16 by Puddies
lf2000
Great in it.... :)
Nigel and Cathy
Fingers and paws crossed her that this is indeed Mia. My lovely friend Abby posted her on DL as it was her friends who found her. To say that Abby and all of us are excited at the news is an understatement! Please let us know ASAP if it is Mia as we are desperate for news. Abby has been on the phone most of today trying to help find her a new home after the 7 days but I know we would all be delighted if that was not necessary...Wow the power of Doglost never ceases to amaze me! Love from all of us xx
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
Keeping everything crossed, would be fab if it was Mia.

I've not long posted the link to her DL page on the DDB R&R Facebook page.

Thanks also to Reynard, Co-ordinator for the email alert this afternoon.

Well done and thank you to everyone involved. Good luck. Jan x
lf2000
OMG, owners of mia been contacted and there is a good chance ruby is mia... wont know for sure until owners visit ruby and all has been done to make sure..... yes!!!!!!!!! check out ddb r and r for updates :P
lf2000
posted mias page on ddb r and r wall so they are aware of concerns... would be great if this is mia... can you imagine!!! sure ruby will be scanned again and again to make sure, if they have anything to do with it :P
Puddies
Could this be Mia, doglost id 28333, its a long shot as this one isnt chipped, but microchips can migrate/fail, if this one is young and has been straying (rather then neglected, lets hope anyway) it may be worth Mias owners having alook. x
lf2000
from what i have seen in the last few weeks of ddb r and r they are doing a great job.. check out the links below and you will see the comments they are getting... even got people offering them with help with meds and all... im sure they will do a great job for ruby.. seems like its defo gonna be them taking her on !!!
pointerlover
Just sooo pleased to read positive things going on for Darling Ruby. She is just adorable xx.I was lying awake last night trying to work out how i could help her and take her on myself, but having two doggies of my own and living so far away it was proving difficult, what with her being so ill and needing specialist care !

ohhh good..... they said they would be today... will wait and see for updates then :)

I am owned by a DDB and they are the most loving dogs you can ever be owned by. You have a friend for life with these dogs and they are amazing with kids, they are very head strong and need a firm hand, oh and very clever. DDBR + R are on this now, lets hope this little girl gets better soon.
lf2000
they do say this on ddb page... and, i watchded ceser milan last night...lol... and he had to go to australia to help out some people... had one on there and this one was lovely... bless... the lady who owned him said he was agressive (puppy mind) and cesar was like nooooooo, he is just a happy puppy who needs some guide lines......... arggghhh, some people!
jobadger
I hope this girl is sorted. Good job lf2000. I had a look on the ddb rescue page last night - her weight doesn't look to be a problem. We've had a few of these gorgeous dogs around and about just lately with visitors - I live in a small seaside town - and they've all had temperaments to die for! Lovely dogs. xx
lf2000
i dont know anything about ddbs so cant comment on her weight, though she doesnt look to bulky and is it me or does she still seem youngish - sad!! unfortunately ddb home and rescue dont take cross breeds so couldnt take on max, though i dont know if they assisted in some way, they could well have........ I think max is gonna be ok.... Lets just hope ruby can be helped out and have another happy ending... i am now on ddbs rescue page and they update daily on their work with the ddbs.. i have a cocker so nowhere near in their league...lol... but its lovely to read the daily antics they get up to!!
Divadon
Ah poor sweetheart. Hope you get some luck with the rescues today. Fingers crossed.
dewilliams42
BLESS, SHE LOOKS HAPPY TO HAVE A COMFORTABLE BED. CANT TELL BUT IS SHE VERY UNDERWEIGHT? SEE YOU HAVE ABOUT MAX-LETS HOPE BOTH CAN BE FOUND A LOVING HOME.
lf2000
DDB RESCUE AND REHOME will be in touch with the relevant people today!!! :) Fingers crossed between them all that they can help this girly... If owners do come forward i hope they have a bloody good reason for this or they shouldnt get this dog back.. Just my opionion!
lf2000
Have posted on ddb rehoming and rescue to see if they can halp or advise.... I know they have another poorly neglected dog in the pipeline but you never know.... Fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!
mandym
Poor girl!! It makes you want to take her in and spoil her. Shared on f/b. I hope she is sorted soon...
pointerlover
The worst can not happen to this litle girlie, not after what she has been through. We must all pull together AGAIN on this one and do the best!.
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
oh my goodness the poor poor girl ! I think she has been allowed to get in this state of neglect by someone who has then decided to dump her. I do hope a rescue place can be found for her x
BBKM
Poor little baby, bless her, hope she is reunited soon with her owner xx

poor thing - hope she gets sorted out and finds owner/new home. Liz xx

just added the pictures of this poor girl, thank you for taking her in and giving her some dignity and care - she looks like a full dogue de bordeaux to me Last edited: 2011-06-08 23:11:58 by Angus
Gashunguru
I've just been looking at that, why couldn't the Dogue de Bordeaux of Great Britain help you? Did Max find a temporary or permanent home or did the worst happen??
DogLostReynard
Oh! dear we have been through all this with Max 29324 a Dogue De Bordeaux X so please take a look,,, as may help you with Ruby,,,hope she finds a rescue/foster place soon bless her xxx Last edited: 2011-06-08 22:08:24 by Reynard
dewilliams42
IT IS POSSIBLE SHE MAY HAVE BEEN STOLEN AND DUMPED MILES FROM HOME. A LOT OF PEOPLE SEARCH ON HERE FOR LOST PETS.IN HER CONDITION IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH SHE HAS BEEN STRAYING SOME TIME. I HOPE YOU FIND HER OWNERS OR A RESCUE.
Gashunguru
I'm working on that too, I've contacted the Dogues de Bordeaux of Great Britain team to see if they have any ideas and will start looking in the local area but thought I would add her on here too just in case she had escaped/been stolen and her owner was looking for her.
dewilliams42
THERE MUST BE A RESCUE WHICH WOULD TAKE HER AND GIVE HER TIME TO RECOVER.
Gashunguru
She was handed to the RSPCA this morning and is in the kennels now. They will only keep her for seven days though so we are racing against the clock to find her owner or any home. Poor girl!!!
