For the benefit of all of you that haven't yet been made aware The Marley we have now is not the Marley that went missing back in february there maybe some folk out there who disagree with what we have done by buying another dog but at the end of the day the chances of us ever finding marley were unlikely and it had come to the point where we felt we needed closure, theres only a small percentage ...of you that know us personally and so not many of you will understand our reasons for needing closure on this subject but anyone who knows whats been going on over the past few months will understand why we could no longer carry on searching for something that we may never find, ur all entitled to your own opinions but at the end of the day its upto us what we decide to do and we did what we felt was best in the long run .. also to all of you have had an email from kerry connor sister of the selller of this dog dont suppose she happened to tell you why the dog has an inch long scar on her back and a fear of going outside on a morning whats all that about??? and they're going on bout how upset their lile lass is bout her dog being sold, hows that down to us they shoulda thought bout that before taking the cash .. why they making out as if thats our fault our lile lass had her dog stolen so understandably that were out our hands when we bought this dog all we wanted was to make lile kat happy again and we're being shot down for it!! yes it was wrong to try make out we had our marley back but it wouldnt matter anyways even if we just said we'd got another dog we'd still be getting slated so Think n say what ya want subjects closed!!!Last edited: 2011-08-20 21:16:22 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

Have spoken to the Annandale Herald who are very kindly doing a story on Marley. It will be published tomorrow so they will hopefully have a link to the story on their online site. Tanya, Marley's owner was interviewed yesterday for the article. Will bump tomorrow when the paper is published.

Lochmaben family search for missing puppy
Mar 4 2011 by Sharon Liptrott, Dumfries Standard Friday
-------------------------------------------
A YOUNG Lochmaben child is appealing for help to find her missing puppy.
Four-year-old Katrina Paton was given the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Marley, as an early birthday present and the pair are normally inseparable.
However, the nine-month-old puppy, Marley, disappeared after her mum, Tanya, popped into a shop in Lochmaben for a few minutes leaving the dog tied to a lamp post.
Now the family has been using websites and mounted a poster campaign to try to trace the small puppy who was last seen wearing a pink spotty collar.
Katrina, who attends nursery in the town, is “heartbroken” and keeps asking for her pet.
She has been out and about with her family from Glebe Crescent handing out flyers.
Her mum, Tanya, said: “Katrina is absolutely heartbroken and wants to know where her puppy is. She has even drawn pictures of her to show to people on the streets when we have been searching.
“I really hope that for her sake we can find Marley soon.”
She added: “We have Marley’s mum, Kaya, and Marley was the runt of the litter and we have all taken her to heart. She was born just a week before Katrina’s birthday and became an early present for her.
“She is all white and small with a little graze on a knee. I had to pop into Sandra’s Bazaar and tied her lead to a lamp post.
“I was in there for literally two minutes and came out to find the lead still tied to the lamp post but Marley was missing. I don’t know if she became detached from the lead by herself or someone has taken her.”
Tanya says she has contacted the police, dog wardens and Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre but Marley has failed to show up since February 28.
A possible sighting was on the Lochmaben Golf Club on Monday evening.

Another sighting of Marley at an empty caravan park about 10 minutes from home. Have emailed scenting instructions.

Thanks Natalie. I don't think this is the same dog as the markings are slightly different around the nose and the found dog has prominent teats - perhaps had pups. Appreciate you searching though.

hi there, there is a white female staffordshire at strayaid, http://strayaid.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2522:ed518-10&catid=11:coxhoe&Itemid=17, with a pink collar on and faint black spots. I know it is a very long way away but she could have been picked up and then dumped so please check out, Natalie

Sorry to see that MARLEY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (28314)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
