Hi Jonfiz you have probably done this already but Coventry city council take pictures of there stray dogs so might be worth checking with them to see if Nanook has passed through there kennels and maybe been rehomed.
Good luck hope you find her.Last edited: 2012-05-19 13:04:46 by Millypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer

Sue no worries just a shame Karen didn't let me know sooner that she had been taken again, last time she was stolen she was found in Overslade but she could be anywhere in the country by now
Jonfiz
Hi thanks for looking its not her got too much white on and this Nanuke looks like a long coat whereas Nanook is short coated, she can go darker depending on the time of year, shame would be a beatiful looking dog with a good grooming session

nanook didnt have her collar with tag on or hadn't been microchipped as she still had kennel cough from being in the kennels so she wasn't being taken out anywhere so as not to spread it. Karen was going to take her to get microchipped once she had fully recovered but unfortunately she was taken before she could do this

Alerts for this dog were asked for over THREE DAYS AGO and there's no post on here to say if or which postcodes have been notified. See msg below as she needs a wide area.

Nik she has no ID.

So was the 'no tag', 'no chip' the first time she was taken, or the second time ?

Nanook's details are now updated as much as possible and the date she went missing estimated at a month after she was originally reunited. Owner is not online so contact details are for Jonfiz. Please can Nanook have a wide range for alerts as she's believed to have been taken out of the immediate area.Last edited: 2012-05-14 07:54:08 by B30

NO ALERTS UNTIL DETAILS ARE UPDATED PLEASE.
B30
Jonfiz, I'll email you so that we can update Nanook's details
Jonfiz
unfortunately a month after Nanook was reunited she vanshed without trace, Karen has searched all over the area for her but it looks like the people who stole her returned and took her agsin. It is now over a year since she has been gone and on Karens behalf I check every found akita that is advertised as she does nt have a computer. If anyone knows where she is please would they let us know what has happened to her even if she is now happy in a new home.Nanook would be aged 8 years now. Thankyou
Goldenfrodo
So pleased this lovely girl is safely back home.xx

Excellent Result Angus! and lovely news..Welcome Home Nanook.xxx
DogLostAngus
Nanook is on her way home from the kennels now - she had been missing since neighbours house was burgled not sure if she gave chase or was stolen too but owners are very happy to have found her picture on the website - they shoud be sending a reunited picture later tonight
DogLostAngus
Owners are travelling to the kennels to collect later - she looks to have been picked up out of her home council area hence why owners were unable to locate her at their local kennels which they had been in regular contact with.
Will update page when they are all back home together
DogLostAngus
taken a call from this girls owners just now - they will be calling the kennels in the morning

Sorry to see that NANOOK is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (27337)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
