Shiners owner has not contacted us back....with so many other missing dogs coming in hard to keep track of all the posts....Claire have left you a message on your phone.
ClaireC
Owner has been contacted! It maybe that original owner has decided that they would prefer the dog to go to a new home. Maybe their circumstances have changed over the years and now not able to keep a dog!

hello janey
this is near enough for the people to have been in walker last week with her,,i drove that area at the time and thinks she was deff with someone or she would have been hit by traffic,,its a very busy road,,
I also think the poster should read,,poss stolen? and mention the sighting in walker,,then updated at the shops postered at the time of sighting,,someone will then take more notice of the poster? and maybe a taxi office there?? wish more news would come for this lovely girl ;-(

Milissa, can you email me the original photo that is more recent of Shiner, the one you added onto her DL page late last night? I will redo the group photo and update the various size posters I emailed to you last night. If you have any more photo/s can you send them to me as well and I will pick out the best that show her markings. The first photo/s are when she was younger and it is important that everyone can see what she is like now.

Hello janey did a sterling job when looking for Alfie and it brought in the sightings, you need to get Shiner in as many papers as you can. Sometimes people find dogs and do not realise they should report them to the Council DW. The various size posters do have this on so hopefully whoever has her will do the right thing. Jan x

milissa, I have emailed the posters to you now and added the more recent photo which I've also cropped for you to bring her closer. Jan x
milissa

DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
milissa, I've grouped photo/s together taken from her FB group page and updated the Other Info box so the details show up on the DL poster. I'll do various size posters for you and email them to you, they are great for spreading the word. Go as far out as you can and do door to door. Keeping everything crossed she is back home with you soon. Jan x
milissa

I found the group when doing it without spaces ;-)
I do think she is being held,,so ads in the Durham papers is the only real thing I can think of if over here ;-( what area in Durham though,,its quite large?
I would still poster the shops and poster cars in morrisons etc,,I did this and it only takes one person to know something ;-) Last edited: 2011-01-15 20:33:21 by hello janey

Yeah i found that out. No i haven't i shall try that. this is shiners facebook group.. http://www.facebook.com/?sk=lf#!/home.php?sk=group_174622735909517&ap=1
Yeah we've put her in the trader today. Yeah we do that also, she's on gumtree as missing anyhow. Ill never give up, she's my baby, and im determined to get her back! :) thanksyou x

Hi Milissa ! the police are not obliged to deal with lost dogs now as the responsibility for lost dogs was passed over to local councils. Some however do still help owners.Unfortunately the ones that do this seem to be few and far between ! However they should deal with stolen dogs but you are not sure if she was stolen or escaped. Have you put her on the website called National Pet Register yet ? Like others I have not been able to find Shiners facebook group. Can you please try cutting and pasting a link to it on this page ? If you feel strongly enough that she was taken away to Durham can you afford to put an advert in local papers there ? Also keep checking dogs for sale on websites such as gumtree. Try and stay positive and please dont give up on the postering xx Last edited: 2011-01-14 00:52:00 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
milissa
when i rang the police they told me they no longer deal with dogs is this true, i dont know what more to do its like shes just vanished, weve got posters all over the local shops, the park, fences, rang dog warden, vets, kennel every day shes on this great site and face book someone must know where she is. Any more ideas would be great we miss her so much it hurts,
milissa

Lisa123
Oh I see. So hopefully people in that area can keep an eye open for her then. Will check facebook again. x
milissa
the facebook group is called Help find Shiner
The Durham situation was because my brother had some young lads come buy his motor cycle and it has been thought that they could have picked her up out of garden. Police have been informed and we check with dog wardens everyday. Thank you very much x
Lisa123
I couldnt find it either...I was also wondering why it said she may be stolen??? Have the police been informed. Also its worth keep checking with the dog warden.
hello janey

Shiner now has a group on facebook named, Help find Shiner .. please add a spread the group around. Thank you.
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
Shiner may have escaped from her garden and there is a possible sighting of her nearby in the road by a neighbour HOWEVER it is also possible that she could have been stolen and taken away to the Durham area. This little dog is missed terribly by her family and also by another dog which is pining for her ! Lots of postering has been done, vets, dog wardens and stray kennels have been contacted. Please add the link for Shiner to your facebook page and especially if you have contacts in the North Shields and Durham areas ! Hoping this girl is home again very soon ~ Pam
milissa
every little helps to find our little girl.. thanks again :) x
Lisa123
Your welcome. I dont live in that area but it may just help. I know what you are going through ~ it's not nice but try and stay positive. Big hug x

Sorry to see that SHINER JUST ABOUT TO GO INTO BLUE is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (27330)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
