Hello, the regional co-ordinator kindly telephoned me tonight as a bichon type of dog has been found by Hartlepool Council. I don't think its Teddy as he usually has stains that form around his eyes and his fur wasn't quite like that. However I am going to contact them asap just incase the usual dogwarden who knows that Teddy is missing may have left. Once they have double checked whether he is chipped then I will know for sure. I will keep you all informed. Thank you for continuing to search for Teddy with me.
lisa lister
I contacted them and it wasn't Teddy, but thank you for still keeping your eyes peeled.
tobys mum
i have checked out the dog in middlesbrough and unfortunately its not the same dog at all, that one is a pure bichon, although its been given a poodle haircut in the past and not a bichon cut.the mbro one is pure white and has no apricot on it at all
racheljane
there is a white bichon frise male listed as found in middlesborough on http://www.nationalpetregister.org/fp/4416.htm

SuzeeBee many thanks for posting about the found dog on Teddys page which has now been checked out by his owner. Also I have spoken to Lisa and explained that can nominate any dogs we feel suitable for our doglost article in Countrymans Weekly. As Teddy was stolen we need to get the word out as far and wide a possible ! well done to all who are looking out for this lovely boy and hopefully we will have some news of him very soon ! Hi SuzeeBee
The tibetan terrier is very cute but he is a little bit too apricot in colour and his fur is straighter than Teddy's. Teddy only looks like that if he has been to the parlour, the rest of the time he looks like a perm that has fallen out a bit. Thank you anyway
lisa lister
Hello Sue

Have you put your comments on my page by mistake, as I have contacted the country mans weekly magazine and they don't have any information (and Teddy isn't a hunting dog)?
SuzeeBee
There is a dog listed as Tibetan Terrier in the found section of this site 26270 I realise it is a long way from you, but do have a look as he does look like Teddy.Hope you find your lovely boy very soon. xx

Advertised in The Countryman's Weekly magazine today. Good Luck

Hi Ellejay
As a result of your posting, I did find a dog that looked very sad laying on the ground with a blue lead. I asked my sister whom lives in a different area to me to ask for some details, there was a small £3.00 charge by this mobiya website. However it turned out to be a girl dog and it had been sold last week. Keep looking everyone :(
ellejay
The advert has now gone of the site... it was in the mixed breed section, i have looked on every page and also under the bIchon pages, so looks like the dog has been sold.. I got the link on facebook not through an email, so i cannot send you the link i had unfortuantly.
Sorry about that, i really hope he is home with you soon xx
lisa lister
Please could anyone try and help me find this link from Ellejay? I have looked but can't find any dogs for £400 that resemble Teddy!
lisa lister
Hi Ellejay
Teddy is a Cavachon, ie a kings charles cavalier breed with a bichon frise. I didn't initially want to make that known in the local press in case any other nasty people decided to steal him. However as we are more than a month without him I don't see the point of keeping this quiet, as if we get him back he want be allowed in our garden without us being at home. I will look at their website now. thanks
ellejay
Can i ask what Teddy is crossed with ??

Just i saw an advert yesterday on pets4homes website, and there was a male dog the spit of Teddy.
He was a Bichon x yorkie... someone sent me the link cos they said he looked like my dog.. and now i see this post..

This dog advertised was in Bristol though, and looked very dirty and unkept, they wanted 400 pounds for him which i thought was weird as he not a puppy and did not look at all happy and in good condition...

Dont wanan say that this is Teddy, but maybe worth a look...
lisa lister
I should have typed "gang" not game on the note below
lisa lister
I have spoken to the Northern echo paper today to try and get a piece in their paper as last week on Radio cleveland they reported that in Middlesbrough and Saltburn there had been some recent dognappings. I am hoping that they use Teddy's photo and try and see if the same game started in Hartlepool and worked in those other 2 towns stealing dogs. I didn't hear the actual radio show (news item), so don't know if they had caught the theives. I am trying to find out from friends of friends that work at the police force, just incase someone remembers where they sold my dog!!
lisa lister
thank you for calling but it wasn't Teddy. Although I knew it I still rang up the dog pound and was going to give them Teddy microchip number as I thought someone might have cut his fur and taken a phot at an odd angle. someone else has reclaimed their dog, so that family will be happy tonight
natalie
found male bichon frise, http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog_blog.php?dogId=26100, also says he has a light blue collar on so please check him out! Natalie

bumped due to newspaper article
lisa lister
There was another article and picture of Teddy in the Hartlepool Mail again today. As a result I had two calls in the Powlett Road area (which I think will turn out to be the dog that my partner drove around on Tuesday of last week which wasn't Teddy. The other call was from a man living near Woodstock way and I explained that I had seen that dog on Monday and it wasn't my dog.

Lisa - I would definatly visit all the pubs dodgy or otherwise - best at lunchtimes and leave a colour poster with the landlord/lady and ask them to keep an eye out for any trading. If you get any information re a possible property pleaase call your coordinator or head office for advice as it depends on circumstances what we may advise.
lisa lister
Hello regional co-ordinator
I am a bit unclear as to what you would consider as information about Teddy. I can't decide if people would potentially inform me about their neighbour getting a new dog and how I would pay them if it turned out to be Teddy. Also, would I ring the police if someone informs me that so and so has him. Or do I do it myself. As you can see I am trying to anticipate what I need to do next. I have thought about haning out in dodgy pubs waiting to see if anyone offers any dogs for sale...!
lisa lister
It turned out to be a busy day yesterday as our local Brinkburn college had a dog roaming in their college and they thought it was Teddy. They contacted our local newspaper, the Hartlepool Mail who rang me today. As I result another pley is going in the newspaper tomorrow. There was also something on Radio Cleveland saying that there has been dog napping in Middlesbrough and Saltburn. So I rang the radio up and sent them Teddys details, hoping that they would publize our plight. I didn't hear the actual report on Radio Cleveland, but contacted Middlesbrough Council in case they had a glut of stolen dogs in their pound
lisa lister
Yesterday I visted someones home in Woodstock way whom had sent a photo to the local dog warden Joan and she was convinced it was Teddy. I rushed over there truly thinking it was only to be sadly disappointed. It was a scottie/terrier cross quite similar.
Debra
I have had three newspaper articles and one website article on Sarafina. You want to make sure they post any telephone/mobile number correctly. Also see if they can put a photo in the paper. Be aware there is a possibility you will get crank phone calls, but do not hesitate to get the articles in the papers. Also, if you haven't already, contact all the vets in the area with photos and information as to the possibity of him being stolen. Also groomers, kennels, dog walkers, pet nannies, etc. If you truly suspect he was stolen as you no doubt know you need to make him too hot to handle. Good luck and I hope you get him home real soon. xx

Lisa I have asked our admin if they can possibly mail out Teddy's poster to helpers in areas further afield from the ones already sent to.
Now with regard to trying to get more media coverage are you considering trying to get articles and or adverts in these papers or just adverts ? i would suggest you state the facts as they are ........ Teddy vanished from your property and it is uncertain if he was stolen or that he got out somehow but that you suspect he WAS stolen. Also say that he could by now have ended up anywhere if he has been sold on or maybe wandering lost or he may have been dumpped and appeal for any one who has any news of him whatsoever to come forward and be sure to mention that there is a CASH REWARD and that he has children pineing for his return I have asked amongst our other co ordinators if anyone has any other ideas with regards media coverage for Teddy.~ PamLast edited: 2010-10-31 15:39:16 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire

Is there anyone within doglost that can give advice on what Lisa Lister should say to the press/newspapers. Do we not have anyone that deals with the PR side of things to help her.
lisa lister
On the 29th and 30th I have taken 4 calls from strangers asking whether we have Teddy back yet. This is very encouraging, I would still like advice on widening the search to areas outside of hartlepool and if you could send Teddys poster out to this area Also I want to put something in newspapers with a wider circulation, but don't know what to put
lisa lister
A man had rang on 28th Oct and he had seen a dog similar to Teddy near Challoner gardens. He is going to take a lead out when he walks his dog and will try and entice it home with him. He will then call me, I think it is going to be that other dog that my partner saw
lisa lister
A dog was seen today at Raby gardens, my partner went to see if it was Teddy but it was not. I am glad to see people are still keeping an eye out for him. I am thinking about putting something in the Hartlepool Mail and the Northern Echo saying substantial reward. Does anyone have any useful comments about what I should say?
lisa lister
yesterday I had two different people call me regarding a white dog that they had seen. I checked both of them out and they were not Teddy
lisa lister
I thought dogs were mean't to have a good sense of smell, obviously it doesn't imply that they have a good sense of direction. Really want to find him today or tomorrow as I am taking the children to London over half term for 3 days. We are all talking to as many people as we can, so that the numbers of people that know that he is missing is increasing.
lisa lister
We also went to Hart Village and left a poster at the bus stop. We stopped a lady with a dog and explained what the postman had said. She said she did infact think that a bichon lived at the top of the village at a farm. So i am sort of discounting the sighting of him at Hart, especially as it had said with a lead wrapped around his head.
lisa lister
Thank you for your comments. Today we went postering and speaking to people towards the Brus area of the town and also back to Chatham garden. Whilst talking to a man and boy around Chatham gardens I said what Teddy looked like and someone had seen him around her. The boy said he hadn't seen him today but had seen him a couple of days ago, which would tie in with the phone call I received last night. The dad however rolled his eyes and intimated that he was lying.
princess
So sorry to hear your wee boy is Missing, Ive put a post on our Bichon Forum Bichon Allstars to ask all our members in this area to keep a look out for him. I am praying for his safe return home x
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
Lisa so good that you have had these possible sightings of Teddy! I have looked on google maps and as far as I can make out the areas of the sightings in Hart Village and Challonor Road/Chatham Gardens are reasonably near to each other for it to possibly be the ssme dog being sighted and especially as a dog will find short cuts from one place to another. Its really important that you keep up with the postering in these areas and further afield but please dont forget to check back regularly with the Stray kennels and dog warden.Fingers crossed for some more sightings ! ~ PamLast edited: 2010-10-23 00:46:30 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire

BUMPED due to more possible sightings following Teddy's media coverage. ! Possible sighting by a lady in the CHATHAM GARDENS/CHALLONOR ROAD area ~ Pam Last edited: 2010-10-22 23:47:41 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire

Just finished walking in that area now, but didn't see Teddy. About to print some more flyers and distribute them that way tomorrow morning
lisa lister
A lady has just telephoned me and said she was walking her dog yesterday about 6pm ish near Chatham Gardens/Challoner walk. She knew the dog that approached her was male, as her dog is female. He didn't have a collar on and she hasn't seen a dog like that in that area before. She has only just read yesterdays paper and kindly rang me after reading it. Fingers crossed it is Teddy. She said this dog had muddy legs
lisa lister
As I was working out of my home area today, my neighbour kindly went knocking on some doors near where the sty and chickens were and walked along that path. She didn't see Teddy but informed some dog walkers of his description. My eldest daughter and a friend also walked along that way knocking on doors.
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
Lisa if you can it would be good if you can go over to this area and poster. Also if possible knock door to door in the area and show Teddy's poster and ask if they have seen him or if they know of a dog that is local and looks similar but is known to wander. Or in addition to postering get smaller flyers printed up and post them door to door...... if you need help making these let us know and someone can send you a download to print them off from ~ Pam Last edited: 2010-10-22 09:48:50 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire

A postman rang later tonight to say that he was covering for another postie at Hart Village. He said that a white dog with a lead around it s head came up to him and he was stroking it. He didn't say it was dirty with leaves on it, which is what the boy in my earier comments had stated. He is going to ask the postman that he was covering for, whether a white/cream dog lives in Hart village or not and will let me know.
lisa lister
Tonight a man rang to say that his son saw a dog like ours yesterday near ward jackson park, along a farm road near a sty with chickens. It sounded like a path that takes you towards summerhill and surrounding area near catcote road. His son had texted his dad at the time and asked if he could bring it home but he said no. Both he and his son went and looked in the same area tonight just in case Teddy was there, but on the chickens were. So please keep your eyes open in this area.

hope so much that this media coverage will bring Teddy back home x

bumped due to local media coverage - hope that it brings the call x

Teddy was featured in the Hartlepool Mail today with my daughter Jasmine. I am hoping that this brings forward an honest person that has seen him.
lisa lister
My daughter and a friend went looking again today at the Burn Valley Park and woods and we believe that her friends my have mistaken our dog for a white/cream shih tzu. The man who owned it wasn't very nice and asked them straight away if they would like to buy it, and also said that he lets it roam in the park. He lived adjacent to it. So it is looking more like that Teddy was dognapped :(

It wasn't Teddy at Strayaid, however thank you for keeping your eyes and ears open. We are getting a story in the Hartlepool Mail on Thursday, so I am hoping this will prompt kind people to bring him back to us. There has been a sighting in the Burn Valley Park and Woods of a dog similar to ours, so if anyone walks that way please take him in and let us or the police/warden know. We spent quite a long time there yesterday without any success, and the weather is getting very cold.

Hello Sharon
Please can you inform me as to where Strayaid is? Is it local to Hartlepool as I haven't heard of it before

thanks Lisa

There is a cross breed that looks like a Bichon Frise Cross at Strayaid, picked up on 13-10-10

Teddy vanished from his garden on the morning of Tuesday 12th October. The gate was bolted and it is uncertain how he went missing. His owners have contacted the dog warden and stray kennels and have been postering both locally and further afield. The owners recieved a call with a possible sighting of him last Thursday and they have been and postered the area of the sighting. They will be sending us a photo of him ASAP. Hoping to see this boy back with his family very soon
