I so admire you for trying to find your little squeak after all this time.I used to have many relations living in Bridlington but none left there now. We will of course keep an eye out for your lovely dog and do hope you can get more information on her whereabouts. Perhaps an article in the Bridlington Free Press would help as that paper has a wide circulation, I believe, and may jog someone's memory. Also The Yorkshire Post. Good luck!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh Carolyn, my heart breaks for you. I have never been in a position where I have lost a dog although my boxer went 'missing' in a neighbour's garden the other week for only 25 minutes and I was distraught, so I can imagine what pain you are going through. You are doing an absolutely outstanding job in searching for Squeak along with all these other wonderful people. I don't live in your area and am about an hour and half drive away from Bridlington. As it is the holiday season Bridlington will be very busy so hopefully the posters will work, also poster all the campsites in and around the area, such as Filey, Cayton Bay, Scarborough etc as these are all very near to Bridlington. I hope this brings Squeak home to you, I send you all my love and pray for Squeaks return. Stay safe Squeak sweetheart !! Lots of love and kisses x x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Cassie there is one avenue I would take if my dog was missing. I deliver the Merseymart which is a free local paper in Liverpool, Merseyside. Each week there are lots of leaflets to be delivered with it. It may worth getting some small A5 leaflets printed and paying to get them delivered with what ever free local paper is delivered in the areas you want to target. Or approach a company that just do leaflet deliveries. If you could not go the direct route to the paper, then try and find out who actually delivers papers etc and give them say ?5.00. Hope this helps and everyone is rooting for Squeak to come home we know she is much loved and missed. If you need any further advice on the leaflet distribution just send me a p.m. Luv Jan (Liverpool) xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi cassie, my dee dee went missing on the 1st ocotber, we had some sightings of her, but then it went quite for a while, after a few days we started to get sightings again and then we were lucky enough that dee dee came home on her own. don't get disheartened, just keep putting posters out, here there and everywhere, and also ask people walking dogs. the waiting game is the worse one to play, but stick with it, we are all behind you, most of us know what you are going through. keep your chin up. mandyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have you tried taking photos/posters into any local schools near to where squeak has been sighted? If the woman has her grandchild after school, the child might recognise the dog with a bit of luck and say oh that looks like grans dog, or something? Just a thought but might be worth trying. Hope you get her back soon, she is a sweetie. xx sooeyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have been out since daylight searching the Toddington area, and put posters through every door in Wentworth Gardens, Conger Lane, the Pet shop Butchers, and on all the Park benches on the green. I am told she is being walked to the shops, I even stopped everybody walking and handed them a poster. The lady who has squeak, has her grandson after school everyday. I will keep searching........ Please Show Your Face to Someone Squeak, If you can, I promise to stop crying.... Istill love you very very much, I even took your sister Pip with, but today we couldnt find you, there is always another day, and I will NEVER STOP SEARCHING.. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

May be of no use to you but thought you need to be aware that there are travellers now on the bowling alley car park in Dunstable, have seen a number of dogs there but unaware of squeak at the time, although will have a look tomorrow when I go there. A large number of vans pulled up overnight saturday maybe worth a look (round the back of college). Keep your spirits up. I get the impression that you are aware of a possible place that she is, if I can help please let me know.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Carolyn, I have never had a dog go missing and can only really guess at the pain you and others feel. I know the pain of losing a dog through death and it must be very similar. Only you know wether you want to keep looking, it has to be your decision but there will always be a roller coaster of emotions. I should think that sqeak has been looked after all these years and may be very happy where she is but you also need to know that she is safe and well because she was yours and you love her. You may need to step down from actively looking but you always will be looking wont you, try not to be too sad,our thoughts are with you and we are here if you need us, take care of yourself for the others in your life who need you, perhaps news will come from the VP show, Big hug to you, ChrisxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Carolyn, Its easy for me to say but you must stay strong. You have said that you will never stop searching and if thats the case you must stop crying, otherwise you will lose your focus and make yourself ill, Squeak wouldnt want that, would she?. When we spoke, you said you knew in your heart it was right to keep searching. Trust your instincts, you must feel that way for a reason, especially after such a long time. We are all actively looking and as long as you dont give up, neither will we, we are in it together. Sending big [hugs] and you can call me anytime for a chat. The local free newspaper is called The News Shopper, Editor Matt Ramsden 01689 885703 fax: 01689 875369 email: mramsden@london.newsquest.co.uk If you could send them the story of how Squeak is in the area and the length of time she's been missing they may take up the story. I'd offer to follow it thorugh myself but as I'm off in two days and will be away for a week irt would be pointless. I'll look up details of the other two local newspapers Good luck ElaineLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters handed out at the dog show today. Nothing positive but at least more local people are aware of Squeak. Can I ask what boot fair she was bought from - it may be worth putting posters up next time they have an event incase the buyer returns. ElaineLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Would you believe whilst postering for Squeak found a dog that had been tied up outside a shop for 2 hours , no id, chap I gave poster to said he would take him home ,passed on phone numbers each side and instructions to notify dog warden etc.. have rung back to check and owner had got home and not until wife asked him to take dog for walk did he remember that he had forgotton him at the shop!!! dog and owner reunited!! arnt some people jammy, so lucky that i was there and honest people took him home, others arnt so fortunate, hope that an honest person sees Squeaks poster wherever she is....ChrisxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I live right by Burnham Crescent. I will get out and start looking asap. Are we absolutely sure its her or do we just suspect at this stage? If you have anymore information about this that can be divulged please email me carolineneal65@hotmail.co.uk (promise to be discreet) My hubby and father in law both have very many contacts in this area (you know the type - go to Australia and bump into an old school friend!) and any additional info would really help. Everything crossed for you and if she is here im sure we will find her. By the way the most prominent vet in the area is Meads Surgery. Hope this helps xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I will just have to wait.......Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No-one should have to go through what you've gone through Cassie, its absolutely terrible and I really admire your courage. Whippet, We found the gypsys on the roadside, checked out all the dogs they had tied up, NO Squeak... It was worth a try. We got out the car with a poster to show them I even offered them money, if they found her, They did not want to know. All the dogs they had tied up were stolen, they were the most Discusting type of SCUMBAGS he said on route to Yorkshire. now I am looking on all sites to see if I recognise any of the dogs they had all terriers, and the search continues, Thank you again Carolyn.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dear Gina , I thought that your positive thoughts had worked today as I was looking through the dogs found, and a dog appeared on the pages by no 323. I contacted Jayne immediatly, she gave me the ladys phone no, but I had to wait 30 mins for her to callme back so she could look at squeaks photo. It felt like 30 years! The description sounded so alike. But very sadley it was NOT her. I know some one has got her, and I am going out of my mind. Why do these people do this awful things to our dogs. If I ever catch any SCUMBAG GYPSEY on my land I will not be responsible for my actions. Iam prepared to go to jail. For what they put me through. thank you for your message miasmum, no she didnt have tufts of fur on her head, she is broken coated, but her head is flat. I have her son, and squeaks sister, pip, and pips 2 sons and 1 daughter. I know that she is out there somewhere, as i checked every dog warden from the north to to south of the country. And all the vets, and Ialso checked that the dustmen had not picked up a body. Incase she had been run over and died. She just disapeared out of my front garden, on a sunday afternoon. I now have 7 foot electric gates. And 4 guard dogs, I will never give up on her maybe she was driven to Ireland!!!! She was due to be spayed on the Mon morning. I think she was stolen for breeding. As Gypsies could see that I had 2 litters of puppies, and would not sell them. They could see my jack russells through the hedge. I WANT HER BACK. all my dogs and I still miss her.
