It could be that their website hasnt been update but there is still a Dog Warden service listed for Edinburgh http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/info/1093/dog_warden_service/769/dog_warden_service
lets hope this is so as its much needed
DogLostLostdogs ScotlandSable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
Apparently there is no dog warden in Edinburgh now, which does not help matters.Don't know if they will be filling the post or not.
DogLostReynard
Oh! thats a shame Sable,,,but hope she is reunited soon. x

Hi Anna,
Did the SSPCA call you back in regards to this dog?
Yvonne
Hi Anna,
Thanks for being in touch again about my girl I really appreciate it. I have sent you an e.mail hope to hear back from you soon.
DogLostLostdogs ScotlandSable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
Will contact Lucy's owner about this Annalene.
Annalene
Yvonne, I spoke to you in February about a dog I spotted in The Meadows, Edinburgh. I saw her again this morning. She is smooth coated and I thought she did not llok much like Lucy BUT she had a pink collar on. Dog warden no longer exsists in Edinburgh!? And SSPCA will only pick the dog up if I catch her. She has been running about since last year. SSPCA are calling me back as this dog is scared and would need a specialist to catch it. I have tried :-( Anna
Yvonne
Thanks for still keeping your eye open for my girl. She is on my mind every minute of every day. Still looking, praying and hoping my girl will be back home soon.
CP
I regularly check Lucy's page and glad to see you do, too, Yvonne. I was looking through the Scottish Dogs' Trust pictures only the other day. She's still on my mind a lot....
Yvonne
Still looking and praying that my girl will be found safe and well and can home to me were she belongs.
Yvonne
Thanks for checking in on my girl and keeping your eyes open. I won't give up until I find out where or what has happended to her.
CP
Really good to see your postings, Yvonne; I check in regularly to read any updates. Glad you're not giving up on your beautiful girl, she's out there somewhere. Still watching out for her on the net.
Yvonne
No news of my girl as yet!!!
Renewed posters at the weekend and put them up again around industrial estates near and around my area.
Yvonne
Still searching for my beautiful girl.
I have distributed more fliers and put more posters up over the weekend, no update news to report as yet. Stay safe Lucy until I can get you home,Love and miss you so much.
Yvonne
Still no news on my girl, I have tried everything I can possibly think of. I couldn't have gotten this far without Linda from Dogs Lost she has been a god send, thanks Linda for always being there and picking me up when I am down which is quite often!!!
lisa01uk87
i have been following lucy on gumtree, i do hope you manage to get her back soon
CP
Wondering, if you have not already done so, would it be now appropriate to do a "still missing" poster? People may think she has been found, so it would draw attention to her again. Also, Yvonne, you have been very good/lucky at getting in print; local press and surrounding areas in case she has been seen in another district - anything, just to get her in the public eye again. Nothing ventured nothing gained and it could help lift your spirits a little.
Yvonne
Still no positive sightings or any updates on my girl Lucy.
Please Lucy come home you are missed and loved so much.

Yes, Heidi has been spotted already and it is not Lucy. Thanks for looking though.
CP
Could owner have a look at Heidi on Glasgow Dogs Trust site. She has been there a while so she could have been checked out already, in which case, I apologise.
CP
Oh, Sable, what a shame this trail just ended. Is there no way it could be pursued further? I guess not, otherwise you would have done it. How frustrating. This beautiful dog is on my mind so much...
DogLostLostdogs ScotlandSable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
Thanks CP. Yvonne hs told me that she does visit the centres personally, as advised. I also know this sometimes happens though that dogs are not matched with the owner's description. I did receive a message saying that a dog matching Lucy's description was being advertised for sale on Gumtree either Glasgow or Dundee, but I think the advert has been removed.
CP
Could I ask, at this point, is owner visiting rescue centres personally? There's just been a recent DL dog in my area whose breed was wrongly recorded by the RSPCA. RSPCA had the dog and although owner had been in touch by phone with enquiry, the match was not made. Nor was it made by the PDSA who were originally involved. It was sheer luck and duplication/perseverance by DL plus a visit to pound by co-ordinator that saved this dog. Hope you don't mind me checking but these problems happen when peoples' views of breeds (particularly cross breeds) differ.
CP
Thinking of you, Yvonne, and sending lots of positive vibes in your direction. Not a lot changing on internet sites just now but full steam ahead after the holiday, hey. Take care....
Yvonne
I have not long sent posters to all vets / glasgow / uddingston / viewpark / and surrounding areas a few of them have phoned to ask on an update of Lucy to see if I still wanted the posters to be displayed. I just want her home with me so much, don't know how I will manage Christmas day, just knowing you are all there for me is a great help.
CP
Just re-reading all the thread and had overlooked neck injury posting previously. Therefore, it brings to mind vets being approached. Am sure owner will have covered this possibility but what about revisiting the practices and vets further afield as time has elapsed? Practices are very busy places and it would do no harm to bring Lucy to the forefront again..... C'mon Lucy, give us a clue where you are, we're all longing to see you home with your mum.
Unknown
Surely someone must konw where she is. Come on people let her owner know.

Im always checking on Lucy - she is so distinctive, really sorry she is not back with you. £5000 is an amazing reward and a testiment of how much she means to you - have you approached local papers to see if they will run a story (they might be entised by the reward amount, over christmas news is short apart from the weather. Keep strong xx
CP
And we shant give up searching..... it just takes that one phone call from that one person who sees Lucy's poster or her chip to get her back home to you. x
Yvonne
Thank you to everyone for their support and understanding.
My heart is breaking without my girl I will never give up the fight to find her.

Will put Lucy on twitter + circulate.

Thank you everyone. These dogs have been checked out before and they are not Lucy, unfortunately.
CP
Thank you doglover. On same site there is Tyra but I think her ears are too erect. One further possibility is Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home - Rhona ref. 180509. Lighting could make coat look slightly different shade and it does say large not medium dog but that's open to interpretation. Just worth checking on if only to eliminate for peace of mind. Lucy was so cared for, just wish we could get her home.

Could owner please look at Minnie on SSPCA site in Glasgow and, possibly, Bonnie at SSPCA in Dunbartonshire. Website seems easy to navigate to both. I'm sending so many good luck wishes for this lovely dog to be reunited with such a caring owner...

Hamilton Advertiser has very kindly put another article in about Lucy with the new photos we now have. Last time, the photos made it hard to distinguish which dog it would have been. Hoping this brings some news that brings Lucy home to her family for Christmas.

We are now thinking it was not Lucy in the Uddingston area, as a stray was picked up from there. Keep on looking out for her everyone.

Yet another scummy scammer. What pleasure do people get out of this? How cruel and extremely distressing for Lucy's owner.
DogLostLostdogs ScotlandSable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
Lucy's mum has had a call from someone saying they may know something about where Lucy is. Hoping this is not yet another hoax. Fingers tightly crossed.
Millys Mum
I hope so too. She's beautiful! I hope the article in the Hamilton Advertiser brings some information about the whereabouts of lovely Lucy. Good Luck!

FAMILY HUNTING FOR MISSING DOG
A HAMILTON mum has spoken of her heartache after losing her beloved
dog.
Yvonne Sutherland’s three-year-old crossbreed Lucy went missing from the family
home in Burnbank last Monday. Now the mother-of-one believes someone may have taken in the former rescue dog. Lucy is a cross-breed with a distinctive brown brindle colour pattern on her coat and is described as being very timid.
She went missing after escaping from the family’s garden in Birdsfield Street, Burnbank, and heading off towards a nearby park. Despite the best efforts of the family, with posters being put up around the area, Lucy has yet to be traced.
Yvonne (39) has even enlisted the help of dog-finding web organization Dog Lost, who have reunited more than 11000 missing pets with their owners since they started in 2003. “We’re just absolutely devastated about
Lucy going missing,” she said. “I haven’t stopped crying since she disappeared.
It’s really taking its toll on us. “I had just came out of the hospital the previous weekend after an operation, and this happened on the following Monday.
“Lucy is a big part of our family, and she has a lot of problems. “We have checked all the rescue centres in the local area but had no luck.
“We found her as a rescue dog a couple of years ago. She was very timid. She also has problems with her eyes and her ears. “I’m worried sick because if someone has
her they may not know about her health issues and she won’t receive the care and
attention I give her every single day.” Yvonne, a distribution supervisor for a
telecommunications company, added that her one-year-old daughter Millie was very
attached to Lucy. “Millie and Lucy get on so well. Lucy loves kids and she’s always playing with Millie, who pulls her about by the tail like a ragdoll. “Millie is quite upset that Lucy has gone. We just want her back so much.”
If you have any information about Lucy’s whereabouts, please contact Yvonne on

There has been a sighting of Lucy late at night in the Uddinston area. This is near to Bothwell Bridge rescue Kennels. Owner has been out searching at all hours but has not managed to locate her. I have informed Bothwell to be aware that she may be in the area.Come on Lucy -give yourself up now.Your mum is so worried about you.
DogLostLostdogs ScotlandSable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
Lucy's owner has had a few replies to the posters and fliers. Lucy has been seen locally in the Blantyre area near ASDA by a couple of people who have both said she has a neck injury so it could be that she has been involved an a RTA or and attack from another dog. Please look out for her. I have made enquiries and there is no progress so far.Last edited: 2010-10-09 08:50:50 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
