Sorry to see Magic has gone to the bridge, but it must be a great comfort to you that you did have her for the last three years of her life. Goodnight Magic, sleep tight, and awake to see the other "Rainbow babies" whom you will have loads of fun with at the bridge. Comforting (((HUGS))) for her owners from me for their sad loss, but never fear, as one day you will be reunited with your girl once more, and she is only a whisper away: she remains with you in spirit. RIP+ God blessx A~~~Candle~~~burns for beautiful Magic. Run free sweetheartx

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR HELPING ME GET MAGIC HOME!!!!!
CP
Just a thought - I've found it reassuring to have my girl scanned annually by the vet when her health check/booster is due, just in case that chip has migrated from the correct position. Stay safe and be happy, Magic xxx
Teddys Mum - Area Volunteer, West London
Thanks for posting sequence of events dogshome. There is certainly a lesson here that you can learn from. Chips are known to migrate, so the person scanning must do the whole dog. More importantly, never take anyones word for NO ~CHIP~ scan yourselves and do a good job and hopefully this regretable heartbreaking incident will not occur again.

So MR/Mrs Dogwarden what have you got to say for yourself?
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Thank you dogs home for posting and we all hope you will check on Doglost in the future...we are here to assist dogs getting back to their owners...we can only do this if we all work together and have a central database...we know kennels are busy...so if you have any dogs in please ring us and we can get them on the net for you...arrange for breed rescues to collect if in danger...and free up kennel space for you..but primarily try to find the owners....nearly 13,000 dogs have been reunited with their owners via Doglost and all its dedicated helpers....

I'm so pleased to hear that Magic is back with her owner. Well done to the adopting owners for being so understanding and giving her back. There are so many lovely dogs needing homes I'm sure it won't be long before you find another. XX

It's very good news that Magic is going back to her original owner, where she belongs. Feel sorry for the people who adopted her too, as they must be gutted that they have to part with her. I hope lessons are learned from this episode, which could have been avoided.

this is the kennels where magic has been rehomed, first i would like to say this is the first time it has happened to us, we are trying to get magic back today for her owner we have not done this on perpose, magic was picked up by gedling council on the 19th july they scanned her and sent her to the dog pound, the pound ( castlefield kennels ) accepted her and because the dog warden had his form completed stating she was not wearing a collar or tag and she was not chipped, they did not recheck as they have never not needed to not believe the dog warden, magic was in there for nearly 3 weeks and she was about to be PTS so we went up the the kennels to take her to give her a new home, when she was handed to us we was told she was clear for rehoming straight away, so we brought her back to our rescue had her health checked and vaccinated her and she was homed, when she was being handed out we scanned her before we was going to microchip her and we found a chip right underneath her chest inbetween her 2 front legs but because when we collected her they had said she was fine to go we never thought she was a lost dog because normally when we pick up dogs from death row and there are chipped the chip is either out of date or owners dont want them back and we have never had this problem before, we would of noticed this this week anyway when we went to re-register the chip to the new owner, but i can assure you we are trying to get magic back today so hopefully she will be back by tonight with her owner. the blame needs to be with the dog warden for not checking proper when they first picked her up and also for not checking with there neighbouring council to see if the dog could of crossed the border, also i might add that if we had not gone to take her she would be dead now so at least she is alive and well and we are doing our best to reunite her with her owner today,
DogLostAngus
I would be visiting every vets and grooming palour in the DERBY area to make them aware - we now know that the chip has moved to her leg and this should be mentioned when speaking with vets etc
ML
This is so sad. Just wondering, do the people that have her now know that you are trying to get her back? If not is there any way of finding out what area she is in and making a plee in the papers to give her back? Hope that you get her back soon, thinking of you. xxx
haylou28
the kennel she went to found her chip but did nothing
dinkydoodle
this is terribly sad; at least owners know Magic is being well cared for but they obviously want her back. I don't know how things stand with a chip not registering on the scanner, I hope ownership can be proved and the new owners do the right thing and give Magic back, they may be able to adopt another deserving dog.
haylou28
just to let you know magic has been found but thet have adopted her out at second chance kennel they trying to say dog warden didnt find her chip hoping to get her back but they say not got a lot of chance she was adopted out on the 7th august
wickedweims

email from Caroziva Please post for me on Magic's page:- There is no mention how Magic became lost. Could she be trapped in a neighbour's garage? Spoke to owner as I own identical dog and feel for her and Magic and emphasised visiting pound or rescue centre in person (where ever local dog wardens take strays), not to just rely on officials spotting her. Can she put ad in local newspaper lost & found? Very sensitive breed wish I was closer.
wickedweims
have tried to contact owner a number of times have left a message but no reply
haylou28

Hi , I’m sorry to hear Magic is missing. Someone will try and make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. Please email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo of your dog quoting the dog’s Doglost ID number, or upload a photo yourself on “update details” above. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days, so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog & give them a poster. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.
