found dog id 24579, i know it says male but people make mistakes and the picture looks very much like aspen, a lot of people would not be able to distinguish between a jap spitz and an eskimo dog. I really think this may be worth checking out! Natalie

Did anyone manage to contact owner regarding the found dog? Any news?
wickedweims
there is a eskimo dog at mayhew trying to contact owners

Thank you Carley.

I will ask all our customers to keep a good look out. We have around 20 'doggy' people through the doors each day as well as the staff, so lots of eyes to help.
AlisonH
No Carley no news at all. She seems to have disapeared into thin air. Owner understands that at 16 years old she may be laying dead somewhere but even though the area has been searched over and over again no body has been found so she lives in hope that someone has taken her in.

Article in Todays Grimsby Telegraph http://www.thisisgrimsby.co.uk/news/just-want-know-taken-missing-dog-8211-want-closure/article-2400900-detail/article.html

Had a long chat with owner today. She is pulling out all the stops to find her little dog. The Grimsby Telegraph have been to the house this morning and are going to run another feature about Aspen being one of the first of her breed to be brought to this country. That should be in the Saturday issue.Last edited: 2010-07-09 17:35:03 by AlisonH

Little Aspen is still missing and is featured in the Grimsby Telegraph.

Left message for an update but got no reply as yet. Will call again later.

Thanks for your help Paddy. There are hardly any helpers in this area so anything you can do is much appreciated.

thought i'd ring...so now clarified. She is an American Eskimo and there are a few in the country apparently. She is an oldie so I do hope she is found soon. I'll email various dog folk I know bordering the area and raise awareness amongst the obedience people who will be at Grimsby obedience show this weekend.

hiya I am in lincs and can circulate details. Plus there is a large dog show in grimsby over the weelend and I can let those folk know too. But this dog looks like a Jap spitz to me...I didn't think we had any American Eskimos on this country. And an American eskimo is a totally different breed to an 'Eskimo dog'.What size is she? A Jap spitz would be anything up to 14" approx at the shoulder. So please...soem clarification before I alert everyone. :-)

Poster and flyers made up and emailed to owner.

Have spoken to owner and she is doing all the right things. Can't get a photo to us until Monday but in the meantime is calling all kennels, vets, dog wardens, radio stations etc.

Hi, I’m sorry to hear Aspen is missing. Someone will try to make personal contact with you as soon as possible, to offer advice and help. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres. Give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars. You can find vets in your own area by clicking on the green logo which says “Find Any UK VET”, on the right hand side of the page under the “latest missing dogs” photo - top right. Please email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo of your dog quoting the dog’s Doglost ID number, or upload a photo yourself on “update details” above. You can also add comments and update the dog’s status, e.g.sightings, re-united etc. by clicking on “add a comment” at the bottom of the page. If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and at the same time, check that all details held, are up to date. You can obtain a “MISSING” poster from "view poster" above. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Start postering now! I CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS. If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be re-homed legally, after 7 days if it has no identification (microchip or ID disk attached), so please try to visit rescue centres, to look for your dog. Do not rely on checking by phone alone, as other people may not recognise your dog by your description.
