Have just spoken to a member of Jess's family who is very grateful for our continued support and especially that Jess's details have appeared in the TP Times. They have received no information whatsoever about Jess in all the time that she's been missing but hope their luck is about to change! Come on Jess, just show your pretty little face - we need you back home.
Millys Mum
Thanks Auntie Katie for arranging for Jess to appear in the veterinary publication. It's very much appreciated and hope it brings about some new information.
Auntie Katie
Jess is in the July issue of the Veterinary Magazine - TP times.

Is Jess still missing? Any news? Owners can you update us please. I didn't spot a Missing ad in this week's News Shopper.

Has a Facebook page been set up do you know ?? I have alot of friends around the Penge, Palace Beckenham, and Clockhouse areas, i could add them to her page if she had one, and get them looking for her.... I have not get any posters of Jess so cannot poster myself... but i am sure all my mates round that way will keep an eye out.

Have just spoken to Mandy. They haven't had a single phone call regarding Jess. I can't help but think that someone has her and are keeping her tucked away. But, Jess has got to come out of hiding one day soon... Bromley Council's Street Cleansing dept have been notified and a reference number allocated. Owner has had problems contacting Woodlands Kennels & so I have said I would try them tomorrow afternoon when I get home from work. She didn't appear in this week's News Shopper but hopefully Jess will be in next week's edition.Last edited: 2010-06-03 20:53:09 by Millys Mum

Shame i do not have any posters, i am going dog training tonight near Birkbeck Station, i could have put some round there... could you also maybe do the helium balloon thing, where you attach Jess's pic and some info to each balloon and let them of in a park so the balloons do the travelling for you, as you never know where they will end up.

Went into Kelsey Park yesterday evening and saw all Jess's posters. I also added another poster (printed on girlie pink paper!) and put it up on my 'favourite' poster tree close to the newly reopened cafe, toilets, putting green and tennis courts (it's also the area where Ward Security park their cars in the evening prior to closing the park). This morning, I also contacted Lewisham's caring Animal Welfare Team to tell them about Jess, just in case she ends up in their area (it's certainly not far from Penge). Jess does have VERY distinct markings which I hope will help to reunite her with her worried family very soon.

We've just driven along South Eden park Road and saw Jess's lovely bright missing posters. It was good to see that you had put one up at one of the entrances to Harvington. Who's been busy with the postering today? Did you also put one on the Friends of Harvington noticeboard (near the changing rooms and children's playground)? If not, please feel free to do so or I will put one up for you. Did you also cover Kelsey Park? Once again, if not, I can do that as close to me an will also speak to the Ward Security personnel who patrol our local parks, assisted by their dogs. I will also ask our local Costcutters supermarket if they will put one up in their window, as it's a very popular parade of local shops. Have you had any phone calls yet? Hope this little sweetie is soon back home where she belongs with her worried family and little doggie companion.

I phoned Croydon re gumtree asking about the dog there were children in the background and they said the dog had gone yesterday. She seemed sad it had gone so fingers crossed she was genuine. Called the kennel but they had closed for the day. Will print posters tomorrow and get walking shoes on.

Hi Mandy - I've amended Jess's poster and added that a reward will be offered. Also I have requested some of our mini-flyers which will be forwarded to your email address. Just to recap on our conversation, make sure you visit the local Sorting Office and give them an A4 poster and mini flyers for all the posties, call Woodlands Kennels, Network Rail, the Council's Street Cleansing dept (make sure you get reference numbers for both of the latter), drop a poster into Foxgrove Road vets and don't forget the good ol' News Shopper as mentioned by Baggy Dog (as she says, it would be a good idea to ask them to put the missing ad in the Announcements section as would be more noticeable) - their cut off time is around 10.30am/11am so don't miss the deadline. ellejay, I've told Jess's owners about the Gumtree ad you mentioned and they are going to check it out. Also, I've said that you would probably be able to poster provided that they can send some to you at home (hope this was okay).

just looked on Gumtree... there is s black and white female staffy for sale in Croydon...stating age of 20 months old , how old is Jess ????? also stating it must be sold friday ( yesterday ).... worth a look ???? page 5 under dogs section on gumtree.
ellejay
I am also local, and am heading down to clockhouse area tonight, so will spread the word...unfortunatly i cannot print of any flyers as printer is not working.. Poster everywhere..try Clockhouse cab firm, they are good for putting a poster in their window... put posters up in Kent house Train station and clockhouse, ask to put one up on the Sainsburys notice board etc.. also please do look on all free ads on the web, like gumtree pets4homes.co.uk, ukclassifieds, preloved, as someone may try and sell her on there.. Lets hope she is home soon.

Sorry to hear about Jess. I think the deadline for the News Shopper is on Monday, so an advert in there would be good (has helped in the past). If you put it on the Announcements page it may get seen by more people than in the pet section. I'll print out a copy for the Last Chance Shop in Bromley - lots of dog people go in there. Good luck.

Mandy, I'm local to you (Beckenham) & I am sorry to hear that Jess is missing. I will send you a text message asking whether you have a landline number I can call you on (cheaper for me!) or, if not, perhaps you can call me on my mobile or landline. I will alert all our local Helpers but, in the meantime, poster LIKE MAD and make Jess the best known and hottest girl in town. Believe us when we say you really can't have too many posters! In the meantime, make sure you visit ALL local pubs as, sadly, many of our missing dogs are traded on via pubs. Try to go there at lunchtime or early evening when it will be less busy. Ask the Manager to display a poster and ask whether they might allow you to put a poster up in a window facing the pavement. We can also arrange for you to receive mini-flyers (3 & 4 to an A4 page). When we have used these in the past for other missing dogs, I printed them in black & white but onto brightly coloured paper (I found orange to be the best). That way, when someone spots Jess (and they will!) they will have your contact details to hand, rather than having to return to a poster. Also, be prepared for the posters to be taken down by passing idiots and just re-poster. Our Council is pretty good about allowing this as long as you remove ALL posters once Jess is back home. I have a list both on paper and in my head of all local places to target/visit. A good friend holds dog training classes at the church hall in Minden Road, Anerley but, unfortunately, because of the Bank Holiday, there isn't a class this Monday. We have been pretty successful in helping to get dogs back home, including Samson, another lovely adult Staffie (I will make sure his owner, one of our Helpers, is aware that Jess is missing)! Good Luck and I will be in touch very soon once I've returned from shopping.
