I only saw the BBC report, and it didn't mention a chi, but I will make enquiries tomorrow.  If you look up West Yorkshire Animals in Need (they're based in Ilkley) they are working with the owner of these pups, and they may know if the chi was recovered.  If I hear anything I will post it :)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Please can anyone confirm if a chihuahua was recovered with the two puppies in Bradford today? She'll be mine! No contact from the police thus far (which makes me think I'm getting my hopes up) but they have been completely unhelpful up until now.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

THESE AREN'T MY DOGS, I SAW IT ON THE NEWS AND ADDED IT TO DOGLOST TO SPREAD THE WORD. According to the BBC news website, two of the eight have been recovered from a site in Bradford. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/north_yorkshire/8590648.stm). I noticed that a spaniel had been stolen and a chihuahua and wondered if there was a connection. (I run a cat rescue, and am in touch with other animal rescue groups in the area so I will add any updates). I have put it on twitter and on facebook (on the user id for the cat rescue charity).Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi there Have you thought about getting a Face Book Page created as this has been quite sucessful in reuniting a few lost animals recently..? A really effective and sure way to make the puppies too hot too handle. I am so very sorry that you are going through this awful trauma at the moment please do not give up hope. There will be a lot of people willing you to be able to get them all reunited back home as soon as possible. Sending you positive thoughts XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I saw these babies when they were added to the site late last night.  This is a dispicable act.  This needs lots of publicity and I can see this is happening.  I hope the police are doing their bit too.  I'm too far away to be of any help but am willing these babies to be reunited with their desparate mother asap.x.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Health fears for eight puppies stolen from Leeds

Stolen puppies The puppies are not old enough to be fed solids
The owner of eight cocker spaniel puppies stolen from Leeds says they could die if they are not reunited with their mother. The two-and-a-half week old puppies, which each weigh less than half a bag of sugar, were snatched from a house in Ilkley on Wednesday. Owner Jayne Douglas said the puppies needed proper care. Ms Douglas said: "The puppies will not survive without mum. She needs her babies and her babies need her." The puppies were described as three black and white coloured males, two lemon and white females and three lemon and white males.
They are absolutely desperate in need of mum now
Oliver Townsend, West Yorkshire Animals In Need
Ms Douglas said their mother had been left traumatised. "She doesn’t know where they are, she’s confused, she’s producing the milk and she needs her babies to suck the milk off her. "She’s pacing up and down crying and running to the stable where the pups were." Ms Douglas added: "[I am] sick, angry that someone has done it. "I can’t understand how anyone could take puppies that young away from their mum." Oliver Townsend, chairman of animal charity West Yorkshire Animals In Need, said: "This is a very crucial time when you consider that each pup is less than a bag of sugar. "They are absolutely desperate in need of mum now." West Yorkshire Police are appealing for anyone with information on the theft, which happened on Wednesday afternoon, to contact them.

0.05 a.m.  Email from catty-sara: Hi Jan   I am having problems viewing anything on doglost at the moment.  I've managed to log some stole puppies, but I can't get into the record to amend them.
They were reported on BBC Look North this evening, and I wanted to add links to the following news articles.  They aren't my dogs, but I know West Yorkshire Animals in Need who are helping.  Would you mind adding the links.  The phone number I've given is for the police.   Thank you Sara
