- Another possible sighting of Basil in Portishead between West-s-Mare and Bristol. He was seen running down the side of the road. A lady called us and spoke to two ladies who were going to take him to the local vets. I have phoned every vet in the Portishead and Weston areas and no dog had been handed in.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- No news yet. We have put adverts in the Western Daily Press, Bath Chronicle, Bristol Evening Post and many smaller local mags but we have heard nothing. We have put posters up from Glastonbury upto Cirencester in Gloustershire. All the local vets and rescue homes have been made aware. He also has his own page on FaceBook! I don't know what else to do. Any ideas anyone? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Please make contact with Ruby's 22399 owner as a similar breed to Basil stolen within days and the A37 to the Bath & West show passes Hunstrete, so may be connected also the dog that was seen on the bike could be either dog ,in any case you may be able to help each other with postering etc .Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- So sorry to hear about Basil being stolen what is the world coming to. If you can get poster up in the surrounding pubs, as this can be where transactions are done with stolen dogs. As time is of an essence -You will need to get lots more posters out quickly to make him too hot to handle. Also give posters to all the vets in the area. Good luck, hope he is soon back home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- So sorry to hear that Basil was stolen. I get so angry when I hear of dogs being stolen. My thoughts and prayers are with the owners that they get him back real soon. See what coverage you can get from the local newspapers, radio stations, even TV stations if possible. Good luck. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Email back from owner-
"Basil was taken from a fishing lake in a village called Hunstrete between Bristol and Bath by a young man who had him under his coat. We have notified the police, dog wardens, vets and the RSPCA in both Bristol and Bath as the village is located in the middle of the two. I have also put an advert to go into the next addition of the Bristol Evening Post. We have put up at least 20 posters in every location we can think of and have been out until dark driving around the local area - any more suggestions would be very welcome."
This is shocking please help with postering and keeping an eye out in case Basil is sold on .
Good luck! x

- Hi owner - sorry to see Basil is missing. As soon as you can upload a picture of him we can get his poster done and you can print off and start putting up absolutely everywhere if you have not already done your own missing posters. Make sure you tell your local Dog Warden and advise dog wardens in surrounding area. I suggest also advising Bristol dogs home at St Phillips, Holly Hedge animal rescue at Barrow Gurney and Bath dogs home at Claverton Down if you have not done so already. The key is to put up as many posters as possible, perhaps hand out flyers too. Please also update Basil's page with how he came to be missing. A co-ordinator will be in touch with you asap. Good Luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
