Honey has been CAUGHT... SAFE AND WELL we were out searching in Corfe this morning and got a tip off.  Chased all over the common and together with her owner managed to catch her.  ~She is now home.  Nothing worse than exhausted and bramble scratches to her ears.  ~Thank God.... Happy ending for once.   Thanks to everyone for help and best wishes. Lori.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just seen this on another site.- Sighting yesterday http://www.straydogssanctuary.co.uk/default.aspx?p=ld Information:  Lab/retriever Honey went missing on Monday 15 February 2010 between Studland and Corfe Castle, near Swanage in Dorset.  Honey has been seen near the Wytch farm oil field, and on 21 February was seen near Woolgarston, Corfe Castle, but she is a very nervous dog and could not be caught, although it is thought that  if someone with a dog approaches her carefully it may be possible to catch her. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry to hear Honey is missing. Please be sure to listen to everything you are being told here on her site. My dog is missing as well and when she first went missing I felt completely helpless. I have moved here from the USA and had no idea who to call or where to even start. They helped me by giving me the guidance I needed and help me make the contacts I needed. Good luck with Honey. I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The Swanage Steam Railway runs past Corfe Castle, might be an idea to ask the company if they will put posters up either on the trains or in the stations- you may get some sightings from this.

Hi I?m sorry to hear honey is missing.
Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres?local council stray dogs holding kennel give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars.., If you can go down there each day to check for your dog that is the best thing as they only have to hold a dog for 7 days before it can legally be rehomed or in some cases destroyed. It is also worth contacting the local police as if someone has found your dog they may well have contacted them.
email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo please if you haven?t already.
You can only print posters when you are signed in.
Get postering now?..as quickly and as many as you can physically manage. make sure you offer a reward on the posters.
POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog.
Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, lay by snack vans, service stations, bins, poo bins, shopping centres, take away outlets, pubs, lamposts, caf?s, leisure centre?s,??.basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you.
Tell postman and binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? infact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly.
Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found and make sure you offer a reward!.
If you believe your dog has been stolen then it is very important you contact the police for a crime reference number?. And the postering publicity should have the aim of not only getting your dog home but making it too hot to handle.
keep going back to the place where your dog was last seen and leave something with their scent on it there. Cross posted to www.labradorforums.co.uk http://www.labradorforums.co.uk/ftopicp-1173739.html#1173739 Good luck xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
