Unfortunatly a "temp rehoming" would not be appropriate or fair for the either the dog or the new owners. A lot of people who rehome dogs from rehoming centres have children and can you imagine how difficult it would be to explain to them why the dog they have loved for six months now has to go away. It's dificult enough to explain when a beloved pet dies. The alternative is to keep these dogs longer in kennels which is entirly unsuitable for the dog, more risk of behavioural problems and risk of picking up infections. Every dog owner should be aware of where their local dog warden and police take stray dogs and if their dog goes missing visit there often.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

this is so so so sad 4 the rite owner, there should be longer 4 the rite owner 2 claim there dog, it should be temp re-homeing 2 start with and after 6months or so if no one has came 4ward then the temp owners should be allowed 2 keep the dog, i would be devisted if this happened 2 my dogLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have emailed advice for now as there is no contact phone number. Have sent her poster to Scottish rescues to see if she is there or has passed through. She has been missing since 23/01/10. If you are checking your dog's page Chelle, please make contact with me. My number is on the email you have received from me.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
