Fantastic news. Got an email from owner last night, more or less the same as the info below. Hi,
Found her tonight!!! Wayhay!!! Way down in the depths of the Astley Ainslie Hospital grounds. She’s skinny, stinks of fox, but otherwise chirpy.
Thanks for your email. :0)

Thanks for all your help. Found Cally tonight in the grounds of the Astley Ainslie Hospital on the 234th time of searching there!!!! A member of staff had heard a dog bark and had gone out calling her name. She called us and we went down to where she'd been searching and found Cally in a garden, by the railway. Much relief all round!! She's skinny, stinks of fox, but is otherwise v chirpy.
Sorry about the phone number muck-up. Too much of a hurry typing I think. Thanks again for everyone's support,
Val

I had also emailled owners the other day offering to post on this site but got no reply.  There is a picture of the dog on Gumtree Edinbugh and it certainly looks a lot younger than stated.  I can probably help out over weekend if required.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi AR, unfortunately it doesn't say much else on the ad so I don't know where her usual walks etc are.  Like you said though, and as I thought myself, in such a busy area, its very likely that she will have been picked up by someone - so hopefully the owner is postering like a mad thing!! Will keep my eyes pealed for her tonight!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks BrodieMurphy. Do we know if Cally knows the area, where are her regular walks (meadows/blackford/braids etc), will she gravitate to somewhere shes familiar with? Very built up busy area, you'd think someone would have picked her up. Will have a look around when in town later, hopefully owner is postering like mad.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sable, also noticed that the mobile number of the Gumtree ad is slightly different - according to that ad its 07801 382966 - that may be why you are unable to get through.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

According to the ad on Gumtree she went missing on Sunday 10 January in the evening in the area of the Dominion Cinema.  She is small and smooth-haired and is mostly black, with white and fawn markings - about the size of a fox.  The ad says that although she is 10 years old, she looks much younger. She is not keen on busy roads, so is more likely to have kept to quieter streets and may have got herself trapped in a shed or garage, trying to get out of the cold.
She is wearing a black collar with our name and number and is microchipped. Sorry for just repeating what's on Gumtree but thought it might help.  Will be up that way myself tonight and will keep my eyes pealed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I?m sorry to hear Cally is missing.
Firstly contact police if in Scotland, dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres? give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars.
email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo please ( THIS CAN BE LEFT OFF IF PICTURE THERE ALREADY)
If your dog is microchipped please let your company know and at the same time check that all details held and up to date.
You can only print posters when you are signed in. Get postering now?.. CANNOT EMPHASISE HOW VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS.
Someone will try and make personal contact with you soon but should you require urgent help please phone admin who will pass on your details to your nearest available co-ordinator who is able to contact you.

Saw this lost dog on Gumtree and emailed owner to tell them to register on here.  Owner, you need to get a pic on here as soon as possible so that we can get posters done - the power of posters is incredible. Once available, I will print off some posters and will also emailed to my friends around Edinburgh. Good luck and hopefully see you in the blue very soon xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
