Shereen, that is lovely! However it is now 3 months since Vicky was picked up and there has been no response in spite of extensive postering, adverts and enquiries.

Thank you for your interest, Ash. I have called her Vicky, and she will be going into a permanent foster home under the care of the Oldies Club rescue. She will be living with 2 other small dogs who are both very calm. Due to her sight and hearing problems, she finds new places harder to cope with than most dogs, so she will not be rehomed again from there. As soon as transport can be arranged I will be saying goodbye to our tiny guest.

Was a long shot like you say owl, but good luck and you never know miracles can happen, i am sure that if here owners are not traced that she will find that forever home in the very near future, if i didnt have 3 rescues of my own i would give her a home, unfortunately one of my dogs has fear aggression and so sadly this is not possible for me. Well good luck and fingers crossed, have you given her a name.? Give her hugs and kisses from me, will continue to check her site for news and updates and thankyou for replying. xxx

No reply from the phone number as yet. Have checked on electoral register and the owner is no longer living there. It was a long shot anyway, being 16 yrs ago. Will continue to try that number in case the present occupiers know anything about the lady, but not holding out much hope.

OMG that is amazing that she is chipped and is such an old lady but still quite sprightly bless her. Would love to think that someone has been looking for her and would be over the moon to find her, i know i would. Please keep her site updated as i would love to know the outcome of this new development, i am sure that someone loved her, how could you not. Good luck with this and i do hope that you have some good news for this lovely old lady, will keep checking for updates, and how lovely of you to be caring for her till a new home or her original owners are traced. Give her hugs and kisses for me. xxx

Guess what, I assumed she had been scanned but didn't know for sure so asked a friend who has a scanner. She has a chip! It had migrated and was very hard to find. She was chipped in Cardiff in 1994 so must be at least 16. You wouldn't think it, the way she can beetle along. The chip details didn't give her name, but we have a name, address and phone number for original owner back in 95. The number is ringing but no answer yet so will try later. She wasn't reported missing so it's quite likely that either ownership or address changed.

PS She is definitely not suffering from any kind of age-related confusion. Now that she has settled in and stopped panicking, it's clear that she has all her mental faculties in order.

No, she is far too old and frail to cope in kennels, that is why she is living in my spare bedroom. She is under the wing of a local rescue who are seeking an understanding retirement home for her.

So pleased to hear this old lady is a bit brighter bless her. What is going to happen to her as her owners are obviously not looking for her, will she end up in kennels.? x

This ancient and possibly rather confused old lady is currently with me on emergency foster. She is warm and comfortable and eating well. She was found about 8 weeks ago, taken to vet and all efforts made to find owner, but her rescuer was not allowed by landlord to keep her so she has come here on foster for a local rescue. We will be seeking a permanent foster home if we can't locate owners. I would gladly keep her but no chance with my very boisterous young dog here. For the moment the terrier is occupying the spare bedroom. She looks like a jrt x yorkie mix. Yorkie coat and colouring.
