Ransom paid for ex-show Whippets safe return

  • 1 2
  • next FAMILY was forced to pay a ransom for the return of their stolen dogs. Three prize-winning whippets belonging to Barbara and David Robinson, of Outlane, were snatched from their home on New Year?s Eve. The Robinsons, who had been the victim of ?dog-nappers? before, feared the worst and told police. But following a tip-off to Dog Lost ? a website used to trace lost and stolen dogs ? their son, Roger, was ordered by an anonymous woman to a drop-off point at Brent Cross, near London. Roger had put his number on the website and the woman had phoned him up, but would not give her name or number. He contacted the police but said they did not want to get involved at this stage. So Roger went and met a shadowy man and woman and was asked to pay ?100 cash for ?expenses?. Roger was then handed six-year-old bitch Alice, six-year-old Timmy, and 12-year-old Jill, all of which were hungry and dehydrated. The whippets were reunited with their family on January 22. Jill had been stolen three years ago but was found dumped in Rochdale 18 months later. It is thought the whippets were stolen as part of a series of dog thefts on December 31 across Yorkshire and Lancashire. The thieves had climbed over the family?s garage before snatching the dogs from their kennel. I am so glad that these whippets were reunited to there loving caring owners and if the SCUM that stole these whippets are reading this I HOPE YOU ROT IN HELL, YOU ARE THE SCUM OF THE EARTH, you dont have a clue in the emotional damage you do to loving caring owners of dogs that are like part of a family or the emotional damage you do to the beloved pets you steal ! ! ! !Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have spoken to the owner of the 3 whippets that were stolen from outlane Huddersfield.( she hasn’t got internet access )  They have been returned to the owners, in a very thin state, but glad to be home.  The owner wanted me to say a big thankyou to all at doglost and countrymans weekly  for all there help and posting and cross posting that went on through doglost and a big thankyou to everyone who helped spread the word and posted their comments.    Lets just say an irish accent and money were involved in the return of these whippets !  !  !  !

LOL! That was a hard interview..not the hosts they were great but I had feeback all the way though and a few seconds delay in hearing the presenters so may have talked over them. Also just as i started doing the interview on my mobile phone the land line started to ring and would not stop...so more interference...I tried smothering the phone to no avail so ended up pulling the plug out which alos switched off computers etc...so lots of shut down noise...oh yes and I had to keep on talking...dont know how much was picked up on air...so will be intertesting to hear on the link.....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

    Hi guys,
Reading this story has made me feel sick, angry and heartbroken for the owners of these lovely dogs.  Some people are just disgusting!!! Now I know i'm stating the obvious but if there is a chance this dog along with the others have been stolen by the same people you need to really hit the area where she was found originally in the Rochdale area.  Contact all local vets around that area and give all dogs details.  She may not have escaped far before she got run over and it would certainly indicate she had been living in this area as it was 2 years after she was stolen! Whoever stole these dogs KNEW they were there and KNEW the area, this wasn't a chance passing as was stated they walked over fields to get to them - that indicates prior knowledge.  You haven't had anybody new visit the property and see the dogs recently?  Or seen anyone around you haven't seen around before?  I really hope these guys are  reunited soon.  Thoughts are with you X   P.S  I have emailed company I work for which is situated near Manchester, we do dog food, microchipping etc so they are aware if these dogs come in XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Email your MP's and let them know what has happened and is happening.  How many show biz people have dogs let them know.  Bruce Forsyth and his daughter Debbie made a big issue about getting dogs scanned at vets some time ago let them know.  Get as much publicity as possible so that everyone in the UK gets to know.  Its time to fight back!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have spoken to Jills owners and advised them to contact dog wardens and stray kennels asap.( I have advised they  check locally with Mount Pleasant as well as Springfieldalthough they need to check far and wide as these dogs could turn up in another area) They are absolutely distraught to have had  Jill stolen YET again along with Timmy and Alice. When Jill was stolen last time she was found 2 years later in the Rochdale area in a very poor condition and her owners are finding it particularly hard to bear that she is now having to suffer  the trauma of being stolen again. The last time Jill was stolen another 14 year old dog with cancer was also stolen and this dog was never recovered. PLEASE EVERYONE KEEP A LOOKOUT FOR ALL THREE DOGS AS THEY COULD END UP ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY! ~ PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
