Area co-ordinator busy so I have called owner. She has looked at photo and thought it could be Romie but when she called the council they said he was chipped and had been claimed by his owners.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well done George for managing to post. It was me who emailed you earlier about your blank post. Thank you so very much for trying again and posting the information. I really hope this will lead to Romie, and perhaps we can get the other dog home too. Good luck with this one Helen ! and thanks Jan. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks George for getting back to me so quickly. I have spoken to Romie's owner and they will be following this up tomorrow, postering the area where this little dog was sighted in the hope that they get some more information. I'm praying this is Romie xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I saw a small wire-haired Dachsund that matches the description of this dog just outside my home about 14 miles from Eye. At first I thought the dog was just a neighbour's dog roaming, but later realised none of the neighbours had this type of dog. The dog was with a yellow long haired - what seems to be - retriever, and both of them were not with any people (so stray). In the short time I remember observing the Dachsund, I can give a little description. He seemed to have a somewhat "jittery" personality, perhaps slightly wary of strangers and a little aloof, but friendly/playful with other dogs, perhaps enjoys chasing after things. Contact me via message here If you want to talk about this further.Last edited: 2018-10-23 01:37:43 by Gm123

Have spoken to Romie's owner and the dog sighted at Kettering could not be Romie as the times are wrong but thank you ANJI for alerting us on this one.Owners are still searching for him and have had adverts on the radio and in the newspaper. Keep safe Romie until you are found xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I know this is totally random - but I was in PC World in Kettering on the afternoon that this dog went missing but before the time stated and a little soggy dog fitting this description walked into the store on its own and proceeded to wander around the shop, shop assistants went to investigate and I left at this point - I would guess the time to be about 3pm or there abouts.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have now spoken to Romie's owners and there was a possible sighting on the day he went missing. He was seen in Eye and was possible picked up by some people who were driving a 4x4 car. Posters have been put up and I advised to put them further a field too. I will send general information, contact numbers for Suffolk vets and Rescue Centres to the owner. Stay safe little man until you are found xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I now have a bit more info on little Romie.  He was a xmas present for the families' children, who have wanted a puppy for a long time, but fell in love with 6 year old Romie.  The new owners have only had him for 3 weeks.  He is an entire retired stud dog.  He disappeared very shortly after being let out for a wee, and the family fear he has been stolen to order, as these dogs are quite rare.  Romie is a timid dog.  I wish the family every luck in finding little Romie, and I can't imagine what they must be going through at the moment.  xx

Hi everyone, I recieved an email from our neighbourhood watch man today to alert people of this little missing dog.  I'm sorry I don't know all the details eg sex, if wearing a collar, tagged, colour or anything, but I just had to put this little dog up just incase anyone knows anything.  It's very cold and snowy in the Eye area, so this little dog must be very cold if still wandering!  I've added my number, and I can contact our neighbourhood watch man, who will pass on any info.  Thanks, Amber.
