Lovely to hear that nicholas is doing well and responding to all the love and care he is receiving from his dedicated carers. You are angels for what you are doing, thankyou for giving this lovely boy a chance to enjoy life and know what true love is. Like many other people i would love you nicholas but i have a fear aggressive rescue and sadly this would not be possible for me but that special home will be along soon and i just know that 2010 will be a good year for you nicholas. aww so glad this little boy is improving,...i tell you what i could give him the most loving home, he would want for nothing, and i dont have any other pets, though i do have a fella who can only have non moulting dogsi keep telling him to live off allergy tablets so we can nicholas :P, why is life so unfair...
anyways yes this boy certainly needs a very special home, just so sad i cannot give it to him, as he really would be loved. i think i have said that enough now haha

Little Nicholas is improving everyday. His pain seems to be under control and he is getting around much better. He still drags his feet a little, but he is much more steady. For the 1st time yesterday he wanted to play and went and got a big rubber ball, played for a while and then carried it to his bed and now he lies on it. I have given him a stuffed toy as well so he has a new friend to snuggle up with as well. We are still looking for a foster home for him, but we are going to rush as we need this home to be very special. Hopefully 2010 will be a better year for him. Nicholas sends big woofs & lots of slurps.

Glad little Nicholas is doing a lot better.  I have a place on my sofa for this boy but unfortunately my 2 year old Mastiff x Staff boy would not be happy with it.  He would want to play and poor Nicholas looks as if he needs a relaxing life (so do I!!) Healing thoughts and love to the little lad. xxxx

Yes, definalty good news on this boy, i would soooo love to home him and give him what he needs in life, a loving home. Even my fella is feeling rubbish about his allergies, cos he has fallen in love with this little man also...

Good news on nicholas and thank god no one claimed you as they do not deserve to have you back, life will only be good from now on i am sure little man, i dont think you will be waiting long for that sofa, i know if i did not have 3 rescues of my own i would not hesitate in giving you everything you need, no dog should ever get in your condition and although it breaks my heart to think of it you probably loved your owners despite your condition. Good luck for your future nicholas, you will always be in my thoughts, me and my 3 rescues send you love and cuddles. God bless you little man. xxxx

Nicholas has been to the vets today (sorry didnt make it yesterday). We have increased his painkillers as this weather is not helping. Urine and bloods has come back on OK, but not brilliant (but we can live with that). The vet wont castrate or do his teeth as she thinks that the op will be too much for him. So we have just got to keep him comfortable and give him loads of love and cuddles. He has done his eight days so we will looking for a nice warm comfy settee and fire for him to make the rest of his little life enjoyable, safe and loving. Nicholas would also like to thank Sue (Cirencester) for his lovely treats and Sandy for your donation. It really brings back your faith in humans. Thank you, thank you. XXXXXXXX from St. Nic.

Its so heart warming to see that so many people care about nicholas and want the very best for him, it has really moved me and i just pray that this sad story has a very happy ending. So many people are in the festive mood at this time of the year and my heart breaks as i know that nicholas is not alone and there are so many other dogs out there with no one to love them. ARK, Thanks for the update on Nicholas. Like many others, I can't stop thinking about this cute 'little' chap. I'm so pleased to hear he's a bit brighter today and even managed a greeting (that's our boy!). Fingers crossed that his check-up goes okay tomorrow. I know that you will, but please let us know the outcome of his visit to ther vets.

Little Nicholas seems to be a little better today. He is up and about and he actually woofed this morning. Its such a cute little woof, it made my heart melt. He is off to the vets again tomorrow and we will do the blood tests. Fingers crossed. Nicholas sends his love to everybody.

 awww got tears in my eyes reading that update...poor little thing.
 Here i am longing to have a dog of my own to love and care for and i see these poor animals treated so cruely..really makes my blood boil.
I really wish him the best, i so wish i could have him and give him the life he deserves.

How could anyone treat a dog in this way and let him fend for himself when he so obviously needs to be loved and cared for. I just pray that he will pull through and i am sure he will not be short of offers of a forever home, makes you ashamed to be a member of the human race. My love and thoughts are with this special boy, at least he is warm and cared for now, its now up to you little man. Thinking of him and keeping all fingers crossed. Lots of kisses and hugs. xxx

Just to update you all. We have named this little chap Nicholas.He is in a bad way, but we are making him comfortable. He has had a visit to the vets, had a bath, treated for worms & fleas and is on quite a high dose of painkillers. He has severe arthritis, which we are trying to control the pain. His skin is in a terrible state - Sarcoptic Mange, but this is treatable. He will be having blood test as he may have some problems with kidneys and also tests for prostrate problems. We will do everything we can to save this little chap but if we cannot manage his pain the kindest thing is to let him go and not let him suffer anymore, but we promise we will do everything we can. He has a lovely warm kennel, with heatlamps and heatpads, carpet, duvets, cushions and loads of cuddles, so please dont worry about him being in kennels he is being spoilt rotten.

Yes, absolutely heartbreaking. Poor, poor little lad. How could anyone let him get in such a state? Like everyone else, I do hope that this boy will pull through and that he will find himself a nice new family who will dote on him and give him the TLC he so deserves...
