Well done Selina in in giving so generously. Often wondered if the owners who have luckily got their dogs back honour the reward that they have offered in the first place.

Again brilliant and lovely photo but interesting to note that (according to Google maps!) he was found approx 5 miles away. Is this correct?

I saw a dog that MAY have been my terrier this am, a very brief glimpse before it shot under a gate and that was 9 miles away. Have alerted all and sundry!! who said he was unlikely to be in this area. Just shows, you never know where they are.

Selena, I wish you all the very best and hope that you and Archie are reunited.  Keep going with the publicity, if he's known by many people, then he's going to be too much trouble to keep.  The doglost team are amazing and Jayne and her team will guide you well....set up a FBook page if you havent - stranger things have happened.  Keep positive.....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Go for it Jayne,  hopefully you will be able to tell it how it is so that there will be more public awareness.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Somebody somewhere knows who, what and where, these dogs are going.  Do us all, and the dogs a favour and tell all.  To all the 'country scene' members...has somebody you know acquired a young or well trained dog lately...ask where they got it from.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have added Archie to the Valgrays Border Collie website: http://valgraysbcrescue.webs.com/lostfoundcollies.htm I have added him to the obedience UK website: http://obedienceuk.com/forum.asp I have also posted his details on lots of email groups I am on and have asked them to crosspost.   I so hope Archie is home soon, I cannot believe that this dog has not been returned with a clear tattoo in his ear .. someone must know something.  I am sure the local papers have been contacted to do a spread - they are the ones to get the locals talkings about this dear dog. I have all fingers crossed for Archies safe and swift return.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Come on media people stand up and shout loud and wide what is going on in the dog ownership world.  From puppy farms to stealing to order to stealing for illegal gain.  There are plenty of dog owners who could and would talk of their experiences.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes great feature, I have crossposted to other Spaniel forums.
Not sure if owner is on here but  could they  be in a position to find out WHY, WHO & WHERE  all these working dogs are being STOLEN, this is the KEY to finding them I think ,research is very much needed.
Have you joined forces with other owners of Stolen Working Dogs such as Diva, Fudge, Maggie& Poppy 19736 from Andover, Molly 20259, Saffie 16772 Chris Burns Dogs 19449, there are very many more just do a search on here?
 I would strongly advise this!
Good luck!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It looks like Archies owners are doing what they can to find him.  It would appear that they have done a leaflet drop in the local area as one had been left at the stables at my Mum & Dads (its on a public footpath).  I emailed my sister (amongst others) who lives locally and she had already been sent a link to his facebook page. I really hope that Archie turns up safe and well - according to the leaflet he was stolen from a car :-( I'm guessing whoever stole him knew what they were looking for as he looks like a working dog (and sadly still entire which would make him more appealing!). Has there been anyone at a recent shoot that has been acting suspiciously, or asking too many questions about him perhaps?  Just a thought.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Zoe! Yes, please do keep an eye out and spread the word about poor Archie. If you are able to put any posters up that'd be great too. You can download a poster from Archie's page here on Doglost - when logged in, at the top of his page just above where all his info starts there is a 'Dog Poster 1' link - click that and the poster will open and can be printed. Thanks a lot!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
