Any news vickil on these sightings, whereabout where they?  She must have been taken in with the lack of sightings in the area, you are all working your socks off with the postering.  Anymore news send a text or email so your posts do not get missed we do not get automatic alerts when anyone posts.  Her page can be bumped up when there is sightings etc.  Good luck.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Nearly really good news but were trying to not get too excited - a very kind person who has been helping us search for willow spoke to 2 people last night who thinks they have def seen willow being walked around the area by a young girl!!  one of the people know where she lives and is going round today!!! if it is her, she has been living literally roads away from her house but on a diffeerent estate!! We dont know how they missed the posters or nobody has seen her before but it is possible!!!  so you never know - 2010 could be willows year!!! everything crossed that it is her and she has been safe and out of the snow and fireworks! everybody is going to stake out the area in the hpe that the girl walks willow and we can see her - just got to hope the family that has her is understanding the fact that she is someone elses dog! fingers crossed everybody! xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Jan, you have been so helpful, we just dont know what to do next. There have been 2 phone calls this week but both of them have been very vague. The last one was a dog same colour but only thigh hight ( willow is very big ) by the shops on Finch lane in Dovecot - 2 mins from her house. but the sighting was the night before the lady rang, We went for a look but no sign of any dog. We check out any sightings just in case its here but its always too late and there is no dog. We will keep looking but we just need a positive sign to boost us again. Thanks for all your help. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

vickil it is so frustrating that you are all pulling out the stops and not getting the results you want.  We have had dogs being reunited months later especially through their microchip.  What a shame the people whose car she tried to get into did not help, they must be kicking themselves now.  We can only pray that she is being cared for.  She could of been picked up and taken out of the area if she got into someone else's car, that maybe why you are not getting sightings.  This has happened before and when they people have returned at a later date they have seen a poster.  I will put her forward for Country Man's Weekly.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thank you jan. its not been the easiest christmas without her! no luck with the ad in echo or door to door posters, had a couple of calls but nothing. Had a call last night of a dog by the shops in croxteth but by the time we had go there it had gone. The man who rang wasnt too sure it was her - just said that she was white round the neck. atleast people are still keeping an eye out for her. Its just so hard knowing what to do, with all the snow, if she hasnt been taken in by somebody how long can a poor old dog last out there on the own? Apparently about a week after she went missing she tried to jump into someones car ( but they wouldnt let her! ), so she might have been picked up by someone - but you would think that they would have seen the posters? who knows! anyway, i hope all the dogs lost out there managed to find a safe place to keep warm until they are re united with thier families.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for keeping us updated vickil.  I've just spoken to the Dog's Trust to check if anyone has reported the found Pug as missing and checked on Willow, it did go in yesterday's Liverpool Echo which is great, hope this brings some good news, owners have had results from the paper.  You are all still doing a brilliant job getting the posters out.  Good luck.  Jan x Bumped due to coverage in the paper.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi, just to let you know that whoever that dog was by Tescos we have never seen it again, just just got to hope that it was willow and she is still ok. So the search carries on! There is an ad going in the Liverpool Echo tomorrow and we are in the process of printing thousands of leaflets off to do another door to door postering on wed. Still in the hunt for a communicator but everybody is busy - we are waiting on another lady to see if she can help. Just got to hope in the meantime that people will start calling after the ad and posters.Fingers crossed she will be home for christmas ( she can have a turkey to herself!! ) Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, sorry about the delay, the internet has been down for a while. Thanks Mark we have looked at alot of different communicators on the internet so we will have to see what happens. Had a phone call today from somebody that has been looking out for willow and she has spoken to somebody that saw a big scruffy looking lurcher type scavenging in the bins in Tescos on Deysbrook Lane in West Derby ( about 5mins from willows home ), last night at 11pm. Sounds like it could possibly be willow so fingers crossed. Just got to hope she goes back, so anybody in that area please keep a look out!! Thanks for all your help.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Mark, I did alert vickil to your post the other day by telephone, said it would be passed onto Willow's owner.  So surprised their has been no sightings of Willow for a while, Croxteth Park is used by a lot of dog walkers.  The search goes on.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Vickil sorry that the stray dog is not Willow, you now have peace of mind, you could have been searching in the area for a while before finding out it was not her.  Hope the person puts the details on DL would be great if they could get a photo as well. Try and ring the papers and speak to someone in the news desk section. Let them know she is a Dog's Trust dog.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi, just to let you know that it wasnt willow (my friend saw it ).  the dog that the lady has been feeding is mainly black with a bit of white. so feeling a bit down again but it was worth a try. I have asked the lady to register the dog with yourself cause somebody is prob looking for it as it seems very scared and wont go up to anybody. she said she has informed the dog warden but if you know of anybody looking for a smallish lurcher it might be worth a try as so far its not Willow or Molly. it has been going to the house for food for 10days and seems to come out between 10 am till 12 noon. we are back postering around the original areas around croxteth park for willow. also going to try an animal communicator ( any ideas on these? ) I will try papers again, not much luck when you email them! thanks for your help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Vickil try and get some media coverage in any papers you can, try the Liverpool Echo and Merseymart.  The St Helens Star is also a good one, bit out the area but she could be anywhere now, there is also a Widnes paper.  If you manage to have luck with media coverage ask if they will put a photo in as that makes such a difference.  I have sent you an email.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks vickil for the update was about to contact you as did speak to Molly's owner last night about this dog that is being fed.  I called into Halewood RSPCA yesterday (Wed) to check if any DL ones are in there.  Also spoke to Halewood RSPCA today and they are still aware of Willow.  I emailed Willow's poster last night to now reunited Molly's owner.  Once the person who has reported this seen dog sees a poster they may be able to clarify if they think it is Willow.  Would be great it is her and she is going back to the house for food.  Good luck.  Jan x Bumped due to possible sighting.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi, just to keep you updated, we havent had a proper ( a few fake calls) sighting of willow since 4th nov, but yesterday we got a new poss sighting from the owner that was looking for Molly ( lurcher ). she had been asking in widnes about molly and found that there has been somebody feeding a dog matching willows description in Milton Ave off Lowerhouse lane in widnes for the last 10days. its a long way for her to go but its possible and would fit into nobody seeing her in croxteth for so long! fingers crossed that its her so now we are moving our search and posters to that area to try and find the lady that is feeding her. molly's owner was told that the lady is leaving food in the porch for her overnight cause the dog wont come to her. there is also going to be a mention of her on radio city about 12 midday today. hopefully the phone will start ringing again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Vickil thanks again for keeping us updated.  You are doing brilliantly.  It is important that Halewood RSPCA is visited in person to check she is not there and not to rely on phonecalls alone.  Now that the main fireworks have been getting set off there should not be as many now.  Routing for you to get some more sightings and see her reunited with her family.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still no luck of finding poor Willow, we had a group search of Croxteth Park trynig to cover every angle on friday night and again on sat but no sign of her. Nobody seems to have seen her either, which is very worrying - the last sighting was on weds when she was back in Croxteth and the lady said willow looked very scared and wouldnt go up to her. And there have been alot of fireworks since then and alot of rain!!  Still trying to keep positive tho so putting more posters up again as some of them have been pulled of.Also going to try local papers as my other idea of the radio didnt work.  Just wish we could get another sighting of her to know shes ok.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Vickil thanks for the update.  I have been thinking about Willow all day, the weather has been horrendous so at least that would have curbed the amount of fireworks going off.  The most common times for dogs to be seen are dawn and dusk when it is much quieter.  There is plenty of undergrowth in the park for her to be hiding up until she feels more confident to surface.   Good luck with the search party on Saturday.  Make sure to be armed with smelly tins of pilchards and if she is seen to take the gentle approach and ideally sit on the floor and let her come to whoever she has been sighted by.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No luck with finding Willow so far, Been out all day since 5am and asked everybody we came across but no more sightings apart from somebody saw her running alongside a car - but that was on sat!!  hoped we would have here back before all the fireworks but unfortunately now. Its just so sad to think of her out there on her own. Thought our luck had changed when we got a call from a lady who had seen her last night (wed)and been trying to catch her but she wouldnt come close enough. this lady was in " Coachmans Drive" in West Derby, which is only 2 streets away from willows home!! But we have all been out looking but no sign - i think she is hiding in croxteth park somewhere but there are so many exits you just dont know where she will come out next! just got to keep trying. We are arranging a group search on sat afternoon early evening as that is when people seem to see her so if you have any ideas on how to cover such a large area? Also i have just email a few radio stations and also Paul o Grady to see if they will mention her. It was worth a try!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Willow has been spotted on tues morning in croxteth park near the round about at Oak lane!!! hopefully she will stay in the park and not go into the streets. No sightings since then but one step closer and at least we know she is ok. We will all keep trying - lots of posters up now.  Thanks for all your help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

She was last sighted in Inglewood Road in Croxteth.  Phone numbers updated to owners on the poster. If sighted please do not try to catch her but ring one of the contact numbers.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Willow has been registered by a friend of her owner.  I've spoken to vickl and updated the details now.  Willow has bolted from her home frightened by fireworks.  She is a rescue dog and is very nervous so unlikely to approach anyone.  Vickl will try and get a photo and either email or ask for it to be sent by mobile phone to myself a.s.a.p.  Will email further advice/info and Scenting Instructions and various size poster will be sent when a photo has been uploaded.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
