I have been takeing my Mum shopping today, so was out when your text came pam to say you had fingers crossed as she may have been found. Was awaiting confirmation. Since then have had texts from excited owner to tell me they have her. Texts say - she was in a field at Dronfield Woodhouse. She is in a bit of a state, but ok. She has no muscle, is stick thin, and has a serious graze under her stomach and sores on her legs and feet - all things which can be fixed. She was very excited to see everyone, especially the rest of the pack, but is shaking loads. She wasnt able to jump up into the back of the car bless her. The kind lady who found her, had given her two small meals, and then Fizz had tried to raid the rest of the storage box. LOL Bless her heart. I do hope we get a reunited photo. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped, both searching, postering, or just spreading around the news. And a massive thank you to the finder for takeing her in. Love to all, and hope you all get some rest tonight. stay safe now Fizz sweetheart xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi Claire - glad you got home safe. What a nightmare for you, but we are all pleased you are back as this will really help to put your scent around. Have you had time to read the scenting document I sent you, and think about how you could adapt the ideas on there. If you have had a possible sighting I would leave items of clothing and your scent  around there and see if it will keep her in that area. Also leave some food, and if you can get more sightings in the same area you can then think of placeing a trap. Also leave food and scent outside the minders house in case she returns there. I think she is confused and is looking for you, but I am concerned about the railway, so leaving stuff with your scent, and the other dogs scent may also serve to keep her stabalised, and away from there. Good luck now xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We are back from New York and desperately trying to find Fizz. Late last night we searched the Heeley area in the car hoping to get a glimpse of something - but to no avail. We visited the pound first thing but they wouldn't let us in as we didn't have an appoinment. They said they knew about fizz and all their inspectors had been given the pictures. Today we have made lots of posters and flyers and have searched Norfolk Heritage Park (where I work and fizz has been before) and Gleadless Valley Woods. We have put laminated posters up everywhere we have been. We have replaced the ones round the Farm Road area and we are going to do the Olive Grove area later tonight. They area really near the railway lines and looking at it there are lots of places to hide. so will try and ring network rail in the morning. We now have Fizz's chip number but I don't know what company it is? There was mention today of a possible sighting in graves park so we may go there later but not sure. If we had another sighting we could use the dog trap. When we go out we are leaving the gate open and food down - next doors cat is loving it! :( and we have put poster up in our local pet shop and vets. The post mentioned in the log - could be the one I made about the staffy/whippet cross we found before we went away and had for three weeks, we just rehomed her before we went away. I had to hand type this, but this is a link to a black whippet cross female found in sheffield in September. I don't know if it's too early to be her, but even if it is, these people seem to know a bit about sheffield, so could be worth ringing for assistance?

Thanks for the posters Yasa. I have forwarded them on to some local helpers. Text also sent to owner. Hoping for some news of Fizz very soon xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just been chatting to someone experienced in this sort of loss and she thinks that Fizz could be holed up somewhere close by and returning at night.  Could the front door be left open and the people stay up to see if she does come back?  Since she walked from the house, she could find her way back if she isn't trying to get home.

Thank you so much for your help Wendy. I have emailed you the A4 poster and flyers. I see that owner has just uploaded a new photo now though. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There are two traveller sites in the area and both have been notified and will lend their support and keep their eyes open.  If she has been picked up she will be returned.  Fizz is an ex-gypsy dog and her previous owner is contacting everyone he can.

SIGHTED Wed 21st Oct at the council depot in Olive Gove. Fizz has escaped from friends house which is on the other side of town to where she lives. Its only ten mins by car, but miles on foot, and Fizz would have to cross hellish busy main roads to get home, so hope she isnt trying to do that. Have now emailed some flyers to owner to forward on. Mobile number was wrong on registration. Have altered details now. No point in puting home number on at mo as owners still away until Monday night. They are really really worried about Fizz, so if there are any helpers in the area to lend a hand however small, please post here. Poor Fizz has been missing a few days now. Will amend the number on the poster I have sent and re- send. Owner has forwared all the info to her brother. I do hope Fizz will be sighted soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
