It is heartbreaking for me that Bob has still not been found and I have no leads to follow up at all.  I will keep my ear to the ground and also keep on looking for her when I am out walking my own dogs, but it is just so sad she has been missing for so long.  My heart goes out to Bob's family.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There has still been no news of lovely BOB after all this time. A local Doglost helper has been searching endlessly, but nothing has come up.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Moobli. Bob's owner has contacted the local hunt anyway, as lots of land owners allow hunting over their land at this time of year. Anything is worth trying. It seems strange that there have been no sightings of Bob whatsoever.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am still postering the area and going out looking for Bob on a daily basis, but no sign :-(  I have also made sure that all the gamekeepers and shepherds up here know that she is lost and they will all keep an eye out for her.  The land up here is all privately owned estates and as far as I know the land is not hunted or ridden on (by riding clubs etc).   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have emailed Bob's owner with some new ideas for helping to find BOB. The local HUNT will be out in the Lammermuirs now I think and they cover a huge amount of ground on horseback with dogs, cross country, so have sent info to Bob's owner, with contacts to local hunts and also riding clubs. The tourist board may also be able to help distribute posters by giving them to  people walking in the hills in that area. Does anyone know of people who hunt in that area or go riding in the hills there, with riding clubs or individually?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There still has been no news or sightings of BOB. Please help if you can. Thanks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Moobli. It is of great value to have someone on the ground looking out for her and doing legwork in the area as the owner has had to go back down south. Perhaps putting some fliers on the windscreens of shooting parties may be an idea. If you want any I can forward them to you if you can get someone to print them off.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Today I posted a number of Bob's posters in and around Longformacus.  I will go a little further afield tomorrow and over the weekend.  I also spoke to the Factor on this estate where I live, who also runs the Horseupcleugh Estate where Bob went missing and he is going to put the word out to all the staff.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

That is a great idea. Please let me know what they say.

I have emailed East of Scotland Microlights to see whether they ever fly over the hills (and if so whether they would be low enough to spot a lone dog).  Unless Bob comes back to a road, I think a siting from the air is the best chance of finding her.  Fingers crossed they can help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have been driving around the area for the past few days as well as keeping an eye out when walking my own dogs but no joy so far :-(  I have spoken to the owners again this evening and they are happy to print the poster I am emailing to them and send me a few copies so I can poster the area.  It has been two weeks since Bob went missing now, so definitely time she turned up!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I can email you fliers and posters Moobli, if you can get someone to print them off for you. I am sure if you contact Bob's owner, they will help in some way.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have spoken to Bob's owner and will do all I can to help find her - although, in this area, it isn't easy - and probably more a case of good luck than anything else. Is there anyone who could possibly print some posters for me and send them (I am happy to pay postage etc) as I don't have a printer, and I think the more people that are aware Bob is missing, the greater chance she will come home. I am going to inform the local gamekeepers and farmers in the area, so they can keep an eye out for her too. Fingers crossed we find her.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Moobli. I was just about to email you to ask for your help again as you were kind enough to help with Dotty and Rolo from the same area. I think the owner has done everything possible but as Dotty and Rolo were not sighted until they were found on the road, Bob may not be either. She is friendly and full of life just like the typical beagle. This is the owners number -07976 299 482 -  if you want to contact him to see if you can help him with informing local people. I know he is desperate for help and has had to leave the area to go back south again. there have been no sightings but if you give the owner a call he will tell you from what area she went missing. I know he said it was from a cottage in the back of beyond on the hills. Thanks again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I can look out for Bob when I am around and about, as I live in the Lammermuirs.  However, as the hills are mainly miles and miles of rough heather moorland, mounting a *proper* search would be almost impossible :-(  Has the owner put posters up, contacted all the local estates and spoken to the gamekeepers, farmers and shepherds up here?  Is Bob friendly?  Also, have there been any sightings of her in order to give me an idea as to where to start looking?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have called owner, and offered advice. This may be a difficult one as the owner lives down south and the dog was lost on the Lammermuir hills in Scotland while on holiday. Any helpers to search would be appreciated. Photo is coming soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
