That is brilliant. I was just about to ring the owner and thought I'd better check to see the latest when I noticed she was missing from the red. Hardly dared look in the blue but there she is! Welcome home Honey - clever girl. Please get her chipped and tagged now!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

HONEY IS HOME !!! She has followed all the scent trails that owner has layed every single day, and again after rain, and has turned up tail wagging at the door this morning. Thank goodness owner left the gate open. Honey is fine, just thin, and has had her first small meal. Going to be wormed and bathed later, and everyone will have a good rest today before taking the posters down. Poor owner had almost lost hope yesterday, but as normal Honey has followed normal dog behavour. We will never know how far she travelled, but obviously did realise her error and retraced her steps until she picked up on the scent of Mum and her other doggie mates. Lovely ending. welcome home Honey xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

That's awful about the house move - no wonder she is worried (or even more worried should I say!) I will phone her tomorrow as I actually went to the village today so can picture the layout. I could also put her in touch with my friend who lives there.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

bailyP I agree with all your suggestions. I have sent the link to all the vets in the area, and they have been provided with the proper A4 poster plus flyers. I have stressed the importance of hundreds of posters. Lady is very very worried I beleive as arrangements have also been made to move house in a matter of days. She is trying to get this put back. Do please feel free to give her a call and suggest all you have said, and where you feel the posters need to go. The large boards are an excellent idea and have brought dogs home before. I know any calls would give her support. x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Has the owner notified all local vets? My friend who lives in Three Holes works at a vets and said she didn't think they'd been told about Honey. Also, can I suggest more posters? I saw some in the village but none on the way to the village at Welney for example. If she has run a distance people in surrounding villages need to know she's missing. Perhaps put a large poster right by the road where it is easier for drivers to see?   The area is very rural with lots of ditches so plenty of places for Honey to hide.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have now sent contacts for media, all rescues centres East Anglia, and the link to Any Uk Vet Cambridgeshire. I would hope that she has been picked up and handed in, and we will hear after the bank holiday, but I know owner does not think Honey will go to anyone, so is probably still fending for herself. If anyone can help with the search please dont be afraid to give her a call.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you BailyP and Jan !  Updated posters with all 3 telephone numbers re-emailed to contacts. There had been no news or sightings of Honey this morning when I spoke to owner. Three dogs had got through the gate and shot up the road together. Owner was fortunate to catch up and grab two of them, but Honey was beyond her grasp, and kept going straight, at a hell of a rate. I know she has been out searching and scenting the area with DogLost helper Matisse who lost and was re-united with her dog last year, so understands what there is to do. Owner has also been walking the other dogs out, so hoping that Honey will retrace her steps and pick up the scents and some of the food being left out.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Mobile contact phone numbers added as requested by Yasa. 07946 034180 Owner and 07720 101059 DL helper.  Unable to fit three numbers in the PosterPhone box, owners mobile number is by Honey's name so will show up on the DL poster. Updated various size posters emailed to owner and DL helper whose number is also on the poster. Good luck in finding Honey.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner, I will ring you tomorrow to see how you are getting on, but have emailed you general information, postering info,  and scenting instructions, plus Dog warden numbers. You may ring me at any time, even during the night.  You now have my mobile number by email.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner you need to get hundreds of posters out there as quickly as possible. Please be sure to poster the pubs and pub car parks as this is where dogs often get sold on. Hand out posters to dog walkers and pedestrians in the area. Notify Dog wardens, vets, police, RSPCA, and PDSA. I will email you information, but as for now, please leave the way open for Honey to get back in the way she left. Please leave some items of your worn clothing where she escaped, and leave bedding, smelly food, such as pilchards or sardines, and some water. Hopefully this will stop her from running off again. I will email you some information.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
