- Piper's story is in several tabloid newpapers written incorrectly and factually wrong and not even a mention of Doglost, which was the main reason, Piper's owner wanted to get the story in the papers - to raise awareness of Doglost and how much we can do to help people who have lost their dog. As if she has not been through enough without all this on top of it.They have made a mockery out of the whole thing by saying it was the dog's colitis which made the thieves pass him on and nothing to do with the fact that they were thieves. The dog has colitis which is kept under control and that was not an issue whatsoever.
The journalists who are an agency, have twisted the whole story. Beware of the same thing happening to you.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18 - 2009-08-27 11:32 Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
- Piper's re-union story is in the East Kilbride News. Unfortunately they have reported Doglost as being a charity which it is not, but it gives a brief outline of the story. Piper is looking a bit MISERABLE in the picture, as he is feeling under the weather just now, having contracted kennel cough. http://www.eastkilbridenews.co.uk/lanarkshire-news/local-news-lanarkshire/local-news-east-kilbride/2009/08/26/family-joy-as-terrier-piper-comes-home-68653-24527502/ In the Irvine Herald next week.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- What brilliant, brilliant news. Welcome home Piper. Well done to the family that had him, you did the right thing - a very difficult decision and one which must have caused much upset and heartache. Piper's family must be so, so pleased. Great newsLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- The lovely people who handed him over to his true owners had him chipped so it is just a case of change of details now. Yes Piper is a very lucky boy to be home and his owners are extremely lucky to get him back.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thank you, everyone who has worked so hard and for so long to find Piper, and thank you to the good person who did the right thing at such emotional cost and came forward. I hope that the individual who caused everyone such needless distress will face the appropriate consequences.

- Piper has been found. He is now home with his family. After 11 weeks of relentless campaigning to find him, by his owners, myself, and many kind helpers, he is back where he belongs. He had been moved onto Kircaldy and the new family who had him, had no idea he was a stolen dog until they replied to our ad.. They were broken hearted to have to give him up, so the heart has been ripped out of two families now, which could all have been avoided a long time ago, if the truth had been told. There are many very evil people out there. Thank you everyone for all your help. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thank you Netty, for your kind wishes. The owner of Piper & myself can only say that the police, in this case have been extremely helpful, the only problem being that when the officer handling the case goes off duty, things draw to a halt, it seems. They have been willing to help though. I am certain that when we get Piper back home, (soon hopefully) the woman who has been so unhelpful will have a very worrying time. The owner of Piper, myself, and many others have been working very hard to find him. - Poor Piper, this is no way to treat a dog, as you say they are our children. I hope the police are charging this person with theft, witholding information, and wasting police time, maybe with that being said he would "talk". I have found the police to be rather unbothered with dogs lost, unless you get one that is a true dog lover and understand what we are going through. I wish you all the best with getting your beloved pet back my love and thoughts are with you, and if there is anything i can do let me know, but i live in Essex. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- The last person who has passed Piper on - if that is really what has been done with him - has now refused to help police with this investigation. If only she would realise that if it was her own child who was missing, and let's face it- our dogs are the same as our children to all us dog lovers - perhaps she would be prepared to help. There is no reason not to anyway, unless there is something to hide. Piper was in the Newton Mearns local paper yesterday and is going into an article in the Sunday Post now. - Police have now mentioned looking at the CCTV at Morrisons store on the day the person who took a card from there, went on to pick up Piper from the person who put the card there. Really, what a waste of police resources when all we require is some help from the person who passed him on.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- More media coverage today as Piper has again been featured On Radio Clyde. Broadcaster said he had never had such a reponse from people outraged at the fact that the last person to have him is being so unhelpful. All we need is a good description of the person she gave him to and a phone number for her.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- We really need the last person who passed Piper on to give us more information about who she passed him on to. We have some information which is being worked on. Police are involved as he has been stolen. He has had a lot of media coverage so we are hopeful someone will spot him very soon and inform the owner or ourselves at Doglost.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thank you Ken 66. Owner is out postering everywhere too. Hope some results come in soon from all the coverage we are getting. Someone must know where that wee dog is. Nobody is in trouble about this dog's situation. Owner wants to make that clear. The family just wants him back and that will be the end of it all. We want happy faces all round, but poor wee Piper's head must be spinning - he has been passed on so many times in two weeks. He also needs medical attention for his digestive problems.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Spoken to Piper's owner. Have sent advice, posters and flyers, and informed all Scottish rescues. Police and dog warden have been informed. Are there any helpers in the KA area who can help poster and search? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
