Owner’s update

‘We have been in further contact with Network Rail regarding Ned and we have today been told by Management that the information we were previously given was inaccurate. We are now being told that there was no formal report of a dog being hit, only a possible hit.
No dog has been found or recovered despite Network Rail staff walking the lines in both directions 4 times.
We were told that animals are cremated without any records or descriptions being kept and the process of disposing of animals is quite quick and as such, our Ned would have already been cremated. We now know this to not be true. All animal strikes are formally reported and any dead animals are recorded, photographed, scanned for microchips and held for weeks awaiting contact and collection by owners.
We are absolutely dumbfounded and totally distraught that the reports of Ned being hit, taken away and cremated were all based on rumours and hearsay, rather than anything official or factual.
We are again faced with the agonising situation that Ned is still out there somewhere.
John and I can only apologise for the confusion and the misinformation upon which we have acted and notified our many, many Facebook friends and connections.
Our search for Ned continues.
Thank you again for all your amazing support, kindness and understanding.’

Heartbreaking update

‘ *UPDATE REF. NED*

We are completely devastated to let you all know that our beautiful Ned, was tragically hit by a train on the night he went missing which we have just discovered.

John and I want to thank every single one of you who have helped in the search for him. You gave us hope and we are so grateful to you.

Ned became a Daddy a year ago tomorrow and he lives on in each of his gorgeous 10 pups. ❤’
