No, but we haven't given up, his posters are still everywhere and we miss him very much. Archie's mum works in the village papershop & news has spread about more dogs missing in the area: Maddie & Minky 16.1.05 & another Maddie 23.1.05. Their posters are up.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke to Archies owners last night-the other Archie is not theirs they are amazed how so many people are on the look out-but even after news coverage they have heard nothing. We are going to increase the area and do another mailing to help this morning.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Uncanny response from an Edinburgh poster:- An American lady staying in Edinburgh contacted Archie's mum to let her know she had been speaking to a young couple with a BT. This lady has BT's back in Florida & took a photo of this one & asked if he was 2 or 3 years old. The couple said he was only six months old & they had recently purchased him & his name was Archie! (He looked older than six months). The lady saw Archie's poster in a pet suppliers & forwarded her sightings along with the photo of the dog via Email. This little dog did look like him but it wasn't 'our Archie'. It was so nice of this lady to respond to the poster & it shows they do have an impact - the next response might be him??? We never know what tomorrow may bring! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Moxie's mam
A Border Terrier was spotted walking along the road on his own with a rabbit in his mouth in the next valley. Archie's mam & dad went to find him but it turned out he belonged to a hunt & has been returned to them via a local game keeper. Archies's mam is to contact the owner to ask them to keep a look out for Archie. Archie's mam & dad also found a labrador on their searches sitting in the middle of nowhere soaking wet. They took him in & advised the police & rang round neighbours. He had gone walkabouts from home a few miles up the valley! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Not sure it's a case of watching the Border Television news for his slot. The journalist said his story may get put back depending on incoming news. He will be in the Cumberland News again on Friday & the Keswick Reminder - a small paper but has a good circulation in BT stronghold. The last sighting of Archie was by his dad & he went round the corner at the end of the road with a stanger in pale coloured clothing who had been hanging about there. His dad went after him but they had disappeared. The only other people around was the fish van that comes every Wednesday - he's been quizzed and a dark coloured 4x4 was seen parked nearby. The police came to Archie's house & paid a visit to an owner of such a vehicle but nothing was found. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Do you know when the story will be shown?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Archie has had two very good writeups in the local papers. Archie's mum has persuaded a Border Television journalist to visit their home & do Archie's story. Archie's mum & dad have driven hundreds of miles delivering posters and looking for clues on his disappearance. This is a small remote community& Archie is a very popular dog with people and other dogs- we all feel like a child has been taken. The local Minister has even been round to give comfort & support to his mum & dad. Friends & neighbours are spreading the word & putting up posters & displaying them in their cars. sorry to disappoint you jayne, but with a Yahoo! Group I only send ONE email - to the Yahoo! adress the Yahoo! software then sends a copy of that email to all the 1000+ members of the list!! So I'm not as dedicated as you thought!! I'm really saddened at all the missing BT's though - it's the price of fame I guess - 10 years ago no one would have recognised them as a pedigree dog - they are so much more popular now.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Naomi-this couple are absolutely devastated and do not have internet access-they said thank you so much for e mailing everyone on your BT list as it gives them hope-keep up the good work! out of interest how many e mails have you sent out this year? I reckon it must be over 20,000 at a conservative guess-have you thought about approaching the dog papers with a feature on BT,s and you could get details of the missing ones in-imagine the headline-I am so potty on Border Terriers that I have sent out over 20,000 e mails to help them get back! Great publicity to get more dog owners to join as helpers!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
