Have sent an email for an update as it really sadens me so much. Owners have replied straight away, but sadly the sighting was not of Oscar, but of a Greyhound belonging to a local man, so we are no further forward, and Oscar could have been transported to any part of the country, or could have been released localy - we just dont know. Owners are extremely upset at the loss of their dear Oscar, so please everybody, cross post this as much as you can, and as much publicity with posters please if anyone is going to shows, boot sales, fairs, over the next days, weeks, months. There is loads on during the summer, and it may just jog someones memory. Anything you can do to help would be very much appreciated. We have also still got to keep eyes open localy in case he is living rough. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Mrs-B On Friday and Saturday owners did a big walk about in the area he was sighted. Lots of posters have been put up. Have passed on your suggestion about a follow up article.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Tried to call owner this morning but no reply so I have sent a text asking for an update. As far as I know there is no organised search going on. The owners went to the area of the sighting but didn't see him. If there is someone in the area of Fenton that could put posters up it would be most helpful.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Is there any further news on this?  Saxilby Moor Farm and Fenton are close enough to each other for this sighting to make sense. Is there any 'organised' searching being done in the area? And, given that the Lincolnshire Echo ran the story in the first place, any chance that they might do an update, to include this possible sighting?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone   Just to let you know that A man from the Fenton area just outside Lincoln is pretty sure he saw Oscar a couple of days ago that would be Wednesday 29th April just south of Fenton towards Kettlethorpe.  He only saw a poster this morning and contacted us as soon as he saw it!.
We have been over and spoken to as many people as we can in the area so keep looking as it maybe  Oscar is around and about in that area.   Thanks everyone for all the support and we are still hopeful so keep your eyes peeled.   Thanks e mail from owner:    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thats great for posting the link Ashmark - thanks - I meant any future media. We need to keep Oscar high profile if poss. Lots of people on this now, so owners, please stay positive, and keep getting the word out. I hope as many vets as possible everywhere, can be sent or given posters, in case Oscar is dumped. This has already been in the press Hazel, that's where I picked the story up from. http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/news/Family-pet-stolen-15-000-vehicle/article-921151-detail/article.htmlLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The land rover should be easy to spot unless under cover, in which case I wonder if it is the type of vehicle stolen to order! it will stand out like a sore thumb on the roads. Will scan our local (:(! areas as we drive by. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Can owners let us know when they have any media on this and we can push to the top again - thanks Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The vehicle stolen with Oscar was a SILVER LAND ROVER DEFENDER - registration FY06 NWO. It has a double cab (which is quite rare) with a silver hard back on the pick up area. Cazzajack - yes that’s exactly what I said - DO ALL PUBS IN AREA IMMEDIATELY ! Anyone wanting posters email   yasa02@live.co.uk   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just spoken to Oscar's owner and unfortunately there is no news. The police have only just got in touch with her and given her a crime number and as usual are not really interested. Have made a few suggestions and owner has promised to keep me informed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So very sorry Oscar has been stolen. Thank you for registering with DogLost and uploading the photo. A poster can now be printed from his page by clicking on DOG POSTER 1 which is above the dog record boxes, and on the left hand side. You must be logged in properly to do this. The key is hundreds and hundreds of posters immediately, in the area of loss, plus further away, where lots of people go. You need to get posters up in all the pubs you can, and their car parks over the next few hours, as this is one of the places that dogs are sold on. Also inform Dog wardens, rescue centres and vets over adjoining counties as well as Lincs, as  Oscar could have been taken much further, but he could also have been released quite localy. All avenues must be covered as quickly as you can, so please rope in family members and friends to help you. You need to make Oscar too hot to handle. Please obtain a crime number from the police also. Good luck and please stay positive. We will help you all we can.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
