Oh Poppy sweetie, I am so very sorry that you didn't manage to get home. God bless you my dear. xx You have a special place Dear Lord
that I know you'll always keep
A special place reserved for dogs
  when they quietly fall asleep
With large and airy kennels
and a yard for hiding bones
With maybe a little babbling creek
  that chatters over stones.
With wide green fields and flowers
  for those who never knew
about running freely under
  Your sky of perfect blue.
Lord,I know You keep this Special Place
And so to you I Pray, for a special dog called Poppy, who died peacefully that day.

Have just spoken to Poppy's owner. They have sent emails or phoned everyone on the contact list and have posters up everywhere. Once again it is a very rural area and she just seems to have disappeared. There is a canal close by and she could have been picked up by a passing narrowboat. Posters have been put up at the lock. The local farmer knows poppy and is aware that she is missing. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have mailed contact number documents for Lincolnshire and East Anglia, a general information sheet, and scenting guidelines to hopefully bring Poppy home. Have also sent text to alert owner to the information, and have received an answer. Owner, thank you for your reply. Vets in your area can be found by clicking on ANY UK VET button which is beneath our flashing photos, but we can provide you with a list. You have my contact details if you would like that also.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Second photo cropped and lightened to see markings. First photo cropped and brought closer for the poster. Owner - so sorry to see Poppy is missing. I will email you some contact numbers and an information sheet. Do get hundreds of posters out there as soon as possible. The more posters, and people aware, the more chance of finding her quickly. Good Luck.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I?m sorry to hear your dog is missing. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres?local council stray dogs holding kennel give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars.., If you can go down there each day to check for your dog that is the best thing as they only have to hold a dog for 7 days before it can legally be rehomed or in some cases destroyed. It is also worth contacting the local police as if someone has found your dog they may well have contacted them. email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo please if you haven?t already.Posters can be printed once a photo has been added by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information (you must be registered and logged in). Get postering now?..as quickly and as many as you can physically manage. POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog. if your dog is tattooed or microchipped, then of course state so in your posters, but remember to phone the tattoo and microchip people... get them to look up your details and confirm they have the best and most current contact numbers for you. And a backup if possible. Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, lay by snack vans, service stations, bins, poo bins, shopping centres, take away outlets, pubs, lamposts, caf?s, garden centre?s, leisure centre?s,??.basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you. Tell postman and binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? look up and call all local dog walkers and email them a poster if possible. in fact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly. Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found. If you believe your dog has been stolen then it is very important you contact the police for a crime reference number?. And the postering publicity should have the aim of not only getting your dog home but making it too hot to handle, also check the area that your dog was taken from?..are there cctv camera?s that could have captured whoever took your dog?.
