hi guys there is still no news on my Honey! some one knocked on the door the other day to say they had seen someone walking a jack russell and that it may be honey!!  but there are hundreds of jack russelss around and i can't hassle everyone who has one!! still from the description she gave me i knew it wasn't Honey.  it is nice that people are still knocking on my door offering information although none has led anywhere but these are people i have never met before!!  i don't think i will get Honey back now and i just hope and pray that if some one has got her they will love her as much as i did and look after her well, if they can't cope or get fed up with her then please bring her back. i miss you Honey xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Good luck Beckie. You have worked very hard, and deserve this to be her, but keep putting the posters up - you have got to keep her too hot to handle.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thanks again guys for displaying posters of Honey for me, i will do the same for anyone thatever needs me to around my area also.  i have had a young girl knock on my door from the local school saying she had seen a dog very much like honey at the field where she went missing almost, she is going to try and stake this out for me but there are a lot of dogs that look like Honey so we will wait and see and obviously i will keep you updated.  thanks again guys xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thank you for everyone who has been helping me to find Honey  we took Pippa out the other day and she was sniffing around someone's front door and was very interested in something, she was pulling back on the lead and we could hear what sounded like a jack russell barking so we knocked on the door and there was a jack russell there but was not Honey so my son is taking Pippa out every night in the hope that we may get some more leads. but i do appreciate every thing everyone has done for us and if we don't get Honey back then i just hope that some one has found her and is loving her as much as we do.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Honey's new poster is up in Scampers - massive Pet Store in Soham, they gets loads of animal lovers in from far and wide so here's hoping one of those might know something.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thank you fly, i have looked up Brillo and was very sad to see that she was not with us any more!! i wish now that the dog i had gone to see was Brillo or even my Honey.  i just now keep expecting to find out that Honey is at rainbow bridge and that is just a heart breaking thought.  i just don't have the go to carry on any more, as soon as i put posters up they are pulled down, in fact the only ones that stay on display are the one in my car and in the window of my home and the schools.  i am quite sure the whole neighbour hood is aware now although no one seems to know anything!!  i do worry as we live near lakes and rivers and she was a mischevious little things that liked to poke her nose in where she shouldn't bless her!!!  i think even my cats miss her chasing them constantley, thank you for allyour support though it means so much xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm so sorry you have not yet found Honey, I read your comments about another dog you went to see who was not Honey, is it possible it was Brillo missing from Fordham Cambs (see lost dogs) as its not too far away as transit vans go! Agree with everyone one poster everywhere and go on all lost and found sites, put add on local Gumtree and get on loca l radio anything you can to keep Honey in peoples minds. Good Luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Can you email a picture of Honey to the Evening Telegraph with a bit about what has happened? It has helped in the past. Good luck  XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ok Beckie - so if that is your gut feeling, and it would probably be mine also, put flyers through all the doors. Street by street, road by road, and make sure all schools are postered outside the gates wher mums collect the children, also where the children can see them. Do the recreation grounds where children play also. Children mostly love animals, and notice dogs. One of them may know of a friend who has got a new dog lately. Also keep phoning the councils and rescue numbers as sometimes a dog gets loose again, or the people who were keeping it get fed up and thnk it wasnt such a good idea after all. Honey could find herself loose again at any time. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi i gave some to the guy that deliveres the free papers in the area as he is a dog lover and has dogs himself he said he would post them around for me, also the local provident collector i know as a friend is keeping an eye out in peoples houses, i have put them up at bus stops but again posters are being taken down in Howland.  every vet in the area now has her details but i still think someone has her and is going to keep hold of her.  someone asked today why i didn't take the dog home that i went to look at last night and my reply was that i want my dog back with me and i know who ever owned that dog would want her back also.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Agh - shame it wasn't your Honey this time beckie - Have you taken posters and flyers to the sorting office and handed out to the postmen as they leave first thing in the morning? They often notice new or different dogs in the area. Also the bin men depot? - Pet shops ? Animal feed stores? Bus stops, Train and bus stations? - sorry if you have done these, but every single poster makes a difference. Its always the very last one, that you nearly didn't post up, that brings the dog home. Keep it up. - Do check with road, rail and water authorities, just in case, and check any ponds or lakes, but other than that, someone must kow something !Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

there is a police office and they are aware that Honey is missing as Thorpe wood station sent her details across for me,  i did have a phone call tonight sayihg some one had found Honey although when i got there it was not her unfortunatley.  i did thank the finders for taken her in though and told her to contact the pound etc to see if anyone had reported her missing.  i was really hoping it was Honey but the search goes on xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Is there a police office at Orton Centre now? If so it might be worth having a word there.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thanks for your support guys, Honey is still missing and i do believe she is close by, as the posters are being taken down in the very close area only, they are all still up along the road and in the shops.  i have phoned many many vets and pounds etc but no joy there.  i have tried walking my other dog around as Pippa is really missing Honey to.  we still miss her very much but most of the neighbourhood are now keeping their eye out for her. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry to see Honey is missing, looks like you're doing all the right things though. If you still have the other dog in the photo might be worth walking him (her) around, 1) may pick up Honeys scent, 2) will leave familiar scents on the way. Lookingat your area on google maps looks like a lot of green area not too far away, playing fields and golf course, and ponds! Also put large poster A3 laminated somewhere most people go, Tesco or church or school somewhere everyone passes and sees. perhaps a shop would put it up from the inside.Children are great at recognising dogs markings so schools too.She may be out of the immediate area, might have been picked up by someone in a car, so check other pet lost and found sites and rescues in all places around maybe as far as lincolnshire and bedfordshire. Might also be worth leaving poster mentioning reward near Whittlesey area! Will keep a look out in Cambs area for you.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

beckismith35, welcome on board. So glad to see you posting on here. Everyone can keep in touch now. As I said in reply to your email, it still is reasonably early days, especially since we have had Easter during the week Honey has been missing. For example, someone could have picked her up on the road, for her own safety, and been going away for a few days, and maybe not seen a poster. Step up the publicity now, and do a door to door in the area that posters are being ripped down. Get flyers through every single letter box. Someone may know something in that area, and may be wanting to keep Honey. You also need to get articles with a photograph in your local papers, and announcements on the radio. Please use the media contact list I've sent you. Also poster your local sorting office, and street cleaning depot. Hand the men flyers, as they will notice new dogs in the area. Good Luck, and keep it up. x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

beckismith35, thanks for posting an update, sorry to see your little girl is not yet home.  Do keep up with the postering sometimes finders do not know who they should report a found dog to.  Good luck.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Poster phone number had been wrongly registered. Owner aware and will correct her posters. Have resent amended posters to contacts and helpers in the area, and corrected on site. There is still no news on Honey but it is Easter weekend, and someone may have her safe. Posters are going up.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A4 Poster and flyers created and emailed to owner and helpers in the area. Flyers can be used for handouts and for posting through doors. I hope they help to bring Honey home. Have also sent information sheets an dog warden and kennel contact numbers. Vets in the area can be found by clicking on the FIND ANY UK VET button under the flashing photos on this site.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Honey is microchipped to previous owner who is still in touch, so have advised to notify chip company Honey is lost. She is wearing a luminous pink collar, but her tag had come off so if someone picks her up she has no ID. Garden backs onto a school field, but is not secure, and can then get out of the school grounds to parkland. Owner has started postering - have advised on scenting and maybe taking a fence panel out to leave a way in as Honey does know the area a little bit. Authorities will now be closed until after the weekend, but Honey may be taken to a vets. Very local ones have already been notified, but ones further away will need doing also. Neighbours are also aware. Hopefully once more posters go up, owner will get a call to say Honey is safe.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
