Well done Gary for getting beautiful Sky back. And thank you for staying on as helper. Your advise on any dogs page would be welcome - not just in your area, as having gone hrough it yourself you know exactly what to advise anyone to do. Welcome home Sky x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi just to let you all know, I retrieved Sky safe and sound!
I had literally just returned from a two hour round trip to the kennels in Stowmarket when I turned a corner near my flat and I saw a group of kids walking her down the road. Upon immediate confrontation they relinquished her back to me. They were sent on their way with some very approriate advise!
Two things that I do need to say.
1) Anyone missing a dog must visit the Stowmarket kennel but make sure you take a poster. They have alot on their office wall.
2) For anyone missing a dog in Clacton, postering in the Langham Drive area is problematic. Practically every poster I have put up there had been torn down or damaged. The best way to cover this estate is to drive around it regularly and make sure it is visited out of school hours at as many different times of day as possible.
I will have a look at the other two missing dogs mentioned here and keep my eyes open.
Thanks once again all on here for your help and assistance and I will be adding this to my favorites list though if anything does come up in Clacton, do feel free to email me on grking@btinternet.com anytime as I am sure I will have some very useful tips for over my side of town!
Best wishes
Gary

Have passed on some info to Jotty re dogs found in Colchester but think these are prob males so not Sky.  Thank you for offering to help other owners Gazza - there are two in your area, Rottweiler Deasel ref 17416 and Chihuahua Safie ref 14428, at the moment.  If you put your local postcodes in advance search you'll find any local dogs missing which you may be able to help or keep a look out for.  Do hope you find Sky very soon, stay safe Sky. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi thanks again.
I have had a couple of sightings of a Staffie in Coppins Road,Clacton.
The problem is the Dog Warden has told me that there have been more than a handful loose since last weekend so that in itself doesnt mean anything. A shop keeper has told me someone who comes into his shop has the dog and when I asked someone else they described a bigger dog with a collar. Several other people in the area have seen or heard nothing so I am unsure.
Needless to say I have postered extensively in this area and will do some more further along the road this evening and working on the assumption that someone has taken her in I intend to post around and near the entrances of all the nearby playing fields and parks.
Thanks again for all the responses on here! Incidently please dont hestitate to call upon my services should anyone in the Clacton area find themselves in a similar predicament.

Thanks Karen! Glad to see you've registered Gary, thanks for the updates. Disappointing she wasn't at Westend Kennels when you called, I was hopeful she might have been picked up and been there. I think you really need to poster the area like crazy now, I know you have started but its really a case of poster, poster and poster some more! Someone could quite easily have taken Sky in, not informed the relevant authorities, and only when the posters go up will they realise she is very much missed. Maybe you could also try and get the local radio and press to run an appeal for Sky? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry to see your Sky has gone missing.  I have phoned around but have found no news of her so far in Suffolk.  However, you do need to keep checking West End Farm Kennels - their mainline no. is 01449 737641.  I believe you have their mobile 07941 558096. You will need to keep trying but as mentioned before it's best to go along and check.  Mistley Rescue nr Manningtree 01206 396048 also take in all animals including dogs. See-Saw Rescue is another possibility 01787 210888. Do contact all vets and police too. Widespread posters will be the best way of getting her back - if you can send a picture you can print them here. Good luck. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I have remailed the picture.
To say  am impressed by the response on here is an understatement! Needless to say I am very grateful to all.
Sky dissappeared from the Ruaton Drive/Gardens area but from that estate it is quite possible she would have found a way into practically any area of town.

Hi thanks for all that. I have tried the Clacton Animal Aid, tehy are pretty good and contact the Council Lost Dogs section and I have been in contact a number of times with them. Hadn't considered Mistley as thought they dealt with wild and farm animals but its a great suggestion and I will give them a call. No joy at the Stowmarket kennels either I'm afraid so the search will continue. Thanks again!

Photo of Sky is being sent over shortly. She went missing from her garden. Owner has contacted the dog warden, vets etc, he was having trouble getting hold of kennels that takes the strays in his area. Have given him the number now, for Westend Farm Kennels, Stowmarket, and advised if possible to visit in person to be 100% sure as others there have been missed in the past, especially as Sky has no ID. He is going to get on to them tomorrow. Fingers crossed it brings some news. Owner has started postering and will continue to poster poster poster!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
