Unfortunately this lack of communication can be quite typical, but the main thing is you have got her back safe and well. Give her a big hug from me xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So glad that you are getting her home, please get her chipped and tagged that way god forbid this ever happens again you will get a call from the person that finds her straight away.   Less stress for you and the dog.   I always put my mobile on my tags as well as all other details.  ?6:00 Small price to pay for peace of mind.

Thanks everyone.  We went out putting posters out today, and when we got home there was a message from someone further down the street who said they saw her, and handed her in to Waddesdon Police Station  on FRIDAY !
My husband rang the police AND the DW on Saturday morning and they said nothing.  So we've been through 2 days of absolute hell for nothing when she was there, safe, all the time !
We spent most of the afternoon trying to get hold of the Dog Warden so we could collect her, but nobody rang us back so we're having to wait until tomorrow now.  SO frustrated,  they didn't have a reference, and don't seem to have any cross-referencing system.
Thank you for all the assistance,  will update when we finally get her home.

I've just remembered that my ex boss lives in Waddesdon, not far from you, and walks her labradors all around there. I'll get in touch with her first thing tomorrow (Monday) and let her know about Rosalind. Another thought - there is a big bike dealership (On Yer Bike) on the A41 at Quainton which attracts loads of people from far and wide. See if you can display some posters there - in particular at the burger bar. My husband and son are going over there on Wednesday, so can put the word around, although I'm sure she'll be home long before then xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Notify all your local vets incase she is handed in, also RSPCA at Blackberry Farm 0870 010 1852, Stokenchurch Dog Rescue - 01494 482695, Blue Cross at Lewknor - 01844 355293. I will ask work colleagues at council offices in Aylesbury to keep an eye out for her if she is still missing come Monday. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I?m sorry to hear your dog is missing. Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres?local council stray dogs holding kennel give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars.., If you can go down there each day to check for your dog that is the best thing as they only have to hold a dog for 7 days before it can legally be rehomed or in some cases destroyed. It is also worth contacting the local police as if someone has found your dog they may well have contacted them. email admin@doglost.co.uk with a photo please if you haven?t already. You can only print posters when you are signed in. Get postering now?..as quickly and as many as you can physically manage. POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog. if your dog is tattooed or microchipped, then of course state so in your posters, but remember to phone the tattoo and microchip people... get them to look up your details and confirm they have the best and most current contact numbers for you. And a backup if possible. Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, lay by snack vans, service stations, bins, poo bins, shopping centres, take away outlets, pubs, lamposts, caf?s, leisure centre?s,??.basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you. Tell postman and binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? look up and call all local dog walkers and email them a poster if possible. in fact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly. Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found. If you believe your dog has been stolen then it is very important you contact the police for a crime reference number?. And the postering publicity should have the aim of not only getting your dog home but making it too hot to handle, also check the area that your dog was taken from?..are there cctv camera?s that could have captured whoever took your dog?.   Good luck xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Delivery men left our side gate open and Ros escaped some time late Friday morning 27th March 2009.  So far we have leafleted the whole estate, put notices up in the local shop and our own window, notified the Dog Warden and RSPCA.  We've driven round for hours, walked the streets but no sign.
Had a phone call late tonight (Sat) saying someone saw her at lunchtime on Friday by the side of the road looking bewildered.  Please, if anyone can help, she's 10, it's cold and she'll be hungry and scared,  we're going out of our mind with worry.  I just don't know what else to do.
