OK, forget that! Ella is already registered as found on here; ID: 24731. There is a better picture too, it is not Ratty

Please see the article out today re a Sheltie found with chemical burns to the face. I am fairly sure that it is not Ratty as this dog now named Ella looks as though she has white fur on her head, but could that be down to the burn?? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-11260199

What a sad life he leads with too much time doing nothing. BT does have a number bar service if his one is coming up on your phone.

yeah plural. some guy ( prob same one) phoned and said he had seen her near some shops, near the chinese takeaway and when asked for more details, his finishing line was he had seen her in a curry. idiot. didnt upset anyone, its just irritating. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hum, torn down posters near where she went missing? Highly suspect because shelties usually come back to the post they went missing. Is that prank calls plural, not just one?

noticed today 2 posters have been ripped down close to where she went missing, yet all other posters remain along the same stretch of road! not removed by council as the strings were still attached to the lampost but could be possible they have been removed by person who has her or could just be kids i guess. printer down at mo, but will continue to poster the area. still no sightings, just prank calls.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I think that man sounds highly suspect. You're certainly doing your best to flush him out. Shelties aren't the easiest to breed so he'd be on a learning curve.
Glad to see you've teamed up with Gay
Let's hope the press exposure helps

update Diana received a phone call tonight at about 9.50pm from a man claiming he had seen a stray dog last night close to the shops near her home. we both feel theres not something right about the call, as he was asking her rather strange questions and was quite scarce with the description. his number was also witheld. we think he either has her or knows who has her and was trying to find out more info about her so as to be able to try to breed her or sell her on, or it was just a prank call. will let you know if he calls backLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

yes the owner is keeping the gate open, but only at intervals as they have another dog, and obviously they dont want to lose her too! i finally managed to get to speak to the person who thought they might have sighted her, (im getting some info 2nd hand) and what i didnt know, was the dog (could well have been a cat)  that was sighted, had white shoulders, which doesnt fit rattys description. :o( its like shes vanished into thin air. Ah now that's a glimmer of hope as they do tend to go back to the same spot. That means she's going home. Is the owner keeping the gate open with some food and scented clothing item near the door. If the gate's locked she's going to be turning away each time confused. I know there's another dog there, but it's hopefully just for a short time. Sylv xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thanks for everyones comments and apologies for not replying sooner, i have been very busy with the hunt for this little girl who belongs to my sons girlfriend. as yet, we have had no confirmed sightings though there was a remote chance she was seen this morning close to the area she went missing from. as it was from quite a distance, the person couldnt be certain it was even a sheltie and although we got to the spot very quickly, she was nowhere to be seen. a 1/4 page advert with photo has been published today in a local paper so we are hoping that it will bring some sightings to follow up.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for this update. Whilst someone with bad intentions may have left the gate open, I would defy anyone to catch a sheltie once on the run. They're very quick at ducking and diving as they don;t like being approached. I would say this one's either stuck somewhere in say a garden or just kept running. However they do usually come back to the original lost spot so that's important to keep scented and have some food and water out. Sylv xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There has been no news of Ratty at all since she went missing. During the night before she went missing someone had unbolted the back gate. When the owner let the dogs out in the garden first thing in the morning they ran out the open gate. The owner ran straight out after them and caught the other dog straight away but Ratty just vanished and was not sighted again. There will be a large advert appearing in The Herald and Post a local free paper this week. Hopefully this will bring some news of this distinctive girl. Pam xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for that Doglover. Like Sheltie'smum says, we could do with the owner updating this page for us, but I will 'bump it up' on the other forums. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks a lot for that Doglover. Yes once you have one of these lovely dogs you stick with them as a breed. Had them all my life.Well I'll certainly look out for her here in Kent if she's stolen, but it would still be better if the owner could put some updates here. WE have such a big network it would help find her. Shelties stand out like a beacon. Stealing them isn't too clever. Sylv xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have seen this little girl on www.lost-doggies.com, also. Posted details say - Lost now presumed STOLEN, missing from garden on 12/3/09, could be anywhere in country by now ?  After helping in search for  Rowan I have a bit of a soft spot for these hardy little dogs now, she looks so pretty. Hope this helps sheltiesmum / sheltie lady and she is found soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm concerned there are no updates on this little girl. Could the owner post what's happpening and indeed how and where she was lost and if there's been any sightings. Is the area postered? Sylv xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

SO sorry to see that Ratty is missing and thankyou for registering her on our website. Please contact your dog warden and any others who's area may cross near to where she is missing. Also contact vets and stray kennels and leave posters with them. By law stray dogs only have to be kept for 7 days before rehoming or being sent on to a rescue which may be far from where you live so it is vital that you try and visit  stray kennels in person to be sure she is not there. although she is microchipped this can be missed sometimes so dont rely on that alone to get her home again. Have you contacted the chipping company to inform them she is missing and also  to check your contact details are up to date ? Also POSTER POSTER POSTER as much as you can to raise the maximum poublic awareness you can. I hope she is home again very soon xx Pam  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
