Very interesting jap.  I have also heard about this man when enquiring via dog walkers at Larks Hill.  Likewise, no one knows if he found it nor have they seen him again.  Haven't walked my sheltie over at Garth Meadows for a while as its been far too wet but have driven round the Priestwood area leading to Garth Meadows on several occasions but not seen any missing posters.  Thought crossed my mind that  October loss and February found date could tie in with two half-term holidays but strange no lost posters and not reported to DW.   In the meantime, it's great that this girl has found such a dog friendly home and happily joined the existing 'pack'.  Good to know there is another DL helper in Warfield.  Perhaps our paths will cross one day.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I live in Warfield and own a whippet. I met a man back in October last year who lives in the area behind Garth Meadows who had lost his daughter's whippet. He was looking after it for her at the time, don't know if he ever found it or what sex it was. Just thought it was possible he might have lost it again. Unfortunately I have no way of contacting him but you would have thought he would have checked all the local vets etc anyway. Don't know anyone in the area with a whippet of this colouring.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Bless you. We can see she is very happy with you. Thank you for doing everything right, and for being there for her. Good luck with her x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Added some better pictures. We have still had no word from any one regarding this dog. I find it very hard to belive as she is such a pleasure to have about. she is currently undergoing a course of Antiboitics  for a suspected UTI (i forgot how expensive vet care was without insurance!!) Papers though from warden saying she is legally allowed to stay with us till her owner comes forward.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ta. Well shes made her self at home with us for the time being. we are awating the dog warden to come round to do a home visit so that we can keep hold of her untill a time comes when her owner comes forward. She ran out of the Warfield Road end of Sandy lane so she was local when we found her possibly. Either way she seems to have a fondness for cars too.. every time a door gets opened we have to drag her out of it!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke to lots of dog walkers this afternoon but none aware of a whippet of this colouring.  However, the more I think about it I am sure I saw a dog of this colouring being walked, either along Warfield Street or Hedge Lane and commented to the owner about the unusual beautiful colouring, but this was probably last year.  Will continue to pass the word around and refer them to this site.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the photo, Georgie.  What a lovely looking girl.  Which end of Sandy Lane did she come out of - Folders Lane or Warfield Road?  Will make some enquiries when I am out later today.  Someone has to be missing this beautiful girl. CaroleLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry for the delay in photos. I was using Firefox and was having problems uploading. She is as light as she appears in the pictures. Reported to all the local wardens today (bracknell, Reading, Wokingham) They are aware we have the dog with us till a time as she finds her owner. shes such a lovely dog that i cant belive for one moment shes been dumped. Currently curled up next to me with her head in my lap!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Any chance of a photo?  I usually walk my dog at Larks Hill, which is very close to Sandy Lane so will keep a look out for anyone looking and ask other dog walkers.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
