Don't know what's happened to my post from yesterday??? Welcome Home BOB  !!!! Am delighted that Bob was returned safely and that he is back home with his owners. Thankfully this was a positive result. After speaking to the owner he said they will not be tying Bob up outside of ANYWHERE from now on.   I am sure the message will filter through their friends and neighbours at least and hopefully to others they speak to.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

catty sara when Bob was missing I followed up on the suggestion of Phoenix and on Friday contacted  the same journalist on the Telegraph and Argus that covered the story of Jess. He was very interested and said dog theft like this needs highlighting and he later contacted Bob's owners. Now Bob is home I have emailed him to let him know but am still hopeful he may still run the  story about Bob. Pam xx  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner - if you can, please write to the Telegrap & Argus (Letters to the Editor) explaining what happened.  Given the recent dreadful fate of poor Jess in Cleckheaton, they may print it, and it may prevent people leaving their dogs outside shops etc.
So glad he’s back for you xxx

Bobs owners have just phoned me with the FANTASTIC news that Bob is home !!! Poster and media coverage made this boy too hot to handle. His owners received 2 phone calls last night saying they knew who had Bob and eventually his owner went to an appointed meeting place and from a group of youths one emerged with Bob ! What these youths did was unlawful and I hope they realise they could be facing prosecution form the police for this theft ! Many thanks to all who have helped with postering and looking for this handsome boy.  I have been assured Bob WILL NEVER be left tied up outside a shop or Library again ! Welcome home Bob and stay safe from now on xxx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just got back .   Posters up at Petvax Windhill, and  then the garage at Windhill,  -   Shipley vets, Took some into the police station  Shipley so they have a picture of BOB they took 3 to put up .  Poster in PDSA  - William Hill Betting shop  -Amusement Arcade - Shipley indoor market  pet shop and another stall holder asked for 2 ,  Sun pub were really helpful and took 2 posters.  Gave some to a taxi driver outside the pub Then when going thru centre saw lady with a cocker spaniel so chased after her to  .... didnt realise how unfit I am  ;-)  When I caught up with her she was tying her dog outside the building society !  I spoke to her about it and why  -- and gave her a poster-  She was horrified at what had happened to Bob .. anyway  I stayed with her dog until she came back out. She was really nice and said she would like to help so given her my phone number so might have another helper on board.. She took some posters and will put up in Baildon tomorrow. Have just spoken to owner to let him know where I have postered and his wife has also been out today postering.     I'll do some more tomorrow as ran out of posters.  Would like to get some into the Bowling Alley and the youth club that is in Shipley and start radiating out a bit. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have spoken with Bob's owner today and unfortunately still no more news of this boy. There is an advertisement going in the Telegraph and Argus and we are trying to get Bob more media coverage. Someone must have seen or know something and we need this information to get Bob back home where he belongs with his elderly owners. xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Nothing at Marina, but they will keep an eye out for him. They suggested trying Fleet and Oakenshaw as well?

Is there any chance of getting some cctv footage put on the poster? The T&A ran the story of Jess from Cleckheaton so is there any chance of coverage for Bob? Have they been contacted? Also Look North and Calender should be contacted (I think it was Look North that showed the cctv of Jess being stolen). The more publicity the better, someone will recognise the youths. Also the publicity may help educate people not to leave their dogs tied up outside places.

Correct postcode should be BD18 for Shipley library, BD1 is the centre of Bradford, some miles away.
We'll display a poster (Haworth)

I will start helping postering but will be Fri afternoon after work. Will do vets, local dog walking areas  woods etc initially . Can then do VETS  I am only 2 -3 miles from where missing so will poster this area first.  If anyone can help surrounding areas will be really appreciated. xxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to owner......   advised re kennels to check and if possible visit in person even though Bob is chipped as it sometimes can be missed. Owner tied Bob up outside the library and when she came out had gone. cctv footage shows 4 youths taking him :-((   Police are onto this and crime no obtained.  Owners have been in contact with Marina and Fleet but nothing as yet. Have advised them re postering vets, postmen etc people in area on daily basis and to check with the kennels daily.  Posters need getting out in the area as owner is disabled so if anyone can help it would be appreciated.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The police have issued a crime number for this theft. Four youths have been picked up on CCTV leading Bob away from the library. His owners really need help with postering as we need to make this gorgeous  boy TOO HOT TO HANDLE ! Any helpers in the area PLEASE print some posters to help get this boy back ! Dog wardens have been informed. This boy is no good to anyone as a working dog as he is very frightened of gunshots ! Hoping so much Bob is home again very soon xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
