I'm so sorry to hear that Sunny didn't make it home - my thoughts are with her owners. Thank you Angus and those who helped you to 'reunite' Sunny with her family (albeit in sad circumstances) and to enable them to bury her close by and allow them to watch over her. Rest in peace beautiful girl and sweet dreams precious ...x

Such a sad outcome, took a call from owner just after 12 she was at work and a member of the public called her to say that they thought that Sunny was in the canal near to where she was lost, the canal had been frozen here for nearly 2 weeks and has just started to thaw, I went to the place he described and sadly there was a dog in the water just off the bank, with the aid of some a passers by, including a gent with a walking stick we were able to pull her to the bank and get her out. owners had called community police officer  who came to help me and we carried her back to the bank and about 1/4 mile up the tow path and met her owner and friend there. She is now at home and will be buried in the garden. owners would like to thank everyone for their support at this time. rest in peace Sunny, I know that in your short life you gave your owners so much happiness.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Run free at the bridge Sunny. owners you tried so hard to find her. I hope in time the memories of your time together will help ease the pain.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

sunny's owners excellent re.. advert in paper......everything is crossed for you i hope you get the phonecall you are waiting for......in the meantime just keep going like it's day one. somebody left an excellent tip on another dogs page about attaching strips of paper with your number on to prominent posters so people can read the poster and take the number with them, this might be an idea. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sunny's owners have taken out a large colour advert in Milton Keynes Citizen which I spotted today as soon as I opened the paper, I have bumped due to this advert and hopefully a local response.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owners have had some response to their postering including a very good lead to a local property, Police investigated but it was not Sunny, owners are postering area even more, all vets have been mailed out hard copy posters, hopefully they will get a call soon with the information that they need.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

yes so many people here have lost dogs and got them back safely.... some people very quickly others it has taken a long long time. it took us a week to get ours back and in the end it was just someone being in the right place at the right time. the best advice i can give you is to make the whole world aware that sunny is missing........don't miss a trick....posters everywhere and adverts in local papers.. contact local radio station. have you had any sightings at all??.........i know how this feels and it consumes your whole life 24/7.... remember to eat!! keep your strength up and plug away at it like this is the very first day....get out there and tell everyone. i wish you so much luck xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

To anyone local who can assist with looking for Sunny , she was lost on her regular walk on the canalside, entering from opposite the Bridge Inn down the steps and taking a left along the canal, She went into some bushes and did not reappear. Found these links for people that may be able to help. http://http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=18447 Give all the canal boat owners a poster and ask them to display - most of them are dog owners and will be happy to helpLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hello sunny's family it is very important to get as many posters up as quickly as possible, and make sure they offer a reward. make sure you have alerted the dog warden,ALL vets in the area holding kennels (where the dog waden will take strays)..and ring them every day as they only have to hold on to dogs for 7 days. contact your local paper and radio station get an advert in the pets section lost and found with a picture of sunny and make sure a reward is offered   make sure EVERYBODY along the canal is aware of sunny and the REWARD.poster pubs along the canal. poster pet shops supermarket/retail carparks,mk shopping centre, bus station and train station.poo bins anywhere where people go get the posters up just keep at it like it's day one......whenyou get a sighting go and poster the area like crazy!!! good luck xx  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
