Im so pleased little Milo is home Mike and Trish, my little Jack is still missing after nearly three months now and my journey to find her will never stop, I fear that the same has happened to her that happened to Milo, I just hope that someone comes forward and brings her home so I can have that long awaited cuddle x xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

That's quite alright.  If I hadn't taken on Lucy (pictured!) then I'd be in a position to donate more, but I am more than happy to help people through their difficulties. Was wondering if it was possible to get pictures of Jess at all though?  As I've no idea how to find her on the site. Mike, Trish, Milo and Lucy xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

He's home again!  It turns out a woman kept him, and it took someone snitching on her to get him back - but he's back.  I've just spent the last half hour crying with him in my arms, and I couldn't be happier. Thank you all for your help - as a token of my appreciation I'm donating a part of the reward, as the lady who reported it didn't want anything. Many thanks, MikeLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So relieved to see this, and you're doing all the right things, the power of the poster has been proved over and over again on this site.  As Sue suggests, postering further afield would be good, and if he has been taken in then this will be the way to make more people aware.  A new dog on the block is always noticed by some people and if they've seen a poster then the connection will be made.  Also is there any chance of an article in a local paper?   This can help so much as there will be more eyes looking and more people aware.  There are so many dogs who've come back after much longer than this, I'm sure Milo can be one of them, and the fact he is chipped can only help.   Good luck Milo and good luck Mike.

I haven't given up on him in the slightest, but I fear that my boy has been taken in or has wandered afar. All I feel I can do now, is keep sticking posters up wherever I go in the hope that someone out there sees him.  We've had family over today out looking for him - they're all devastated to see him gone also. Stay safe, little friend. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This latest post from owner has really upset me;  I can't believe after 5 short days he is giving up;  I well understand it feels like much much longer to him, but poor Milo is still out there somewhere, he hasn't necessarily been taken in - what a good thing Bud's people didn't give up on him, he would still be down the well.  He certainly doesn't sound like the same person who was posting earlier about Milo being their child.  I feel from the tone of his post that he probably won't check back onto Doglost and therefore won't see the advice from Sue - is it possible to e-mail him your post, Sue, as I see you have his e-mail address?   Perhaps then poor Milo will still have a chance to be found - I see he still had his lead attached as well. Stay safe little boy and come home soon xx

Mike please don?t give up on Milo!! I know that the last six days have been difficult for you but it can take weeks to locate and catch a dog. Just because you?ve had no more sightings doesn't necessarily mean he isn't around. People may have seen him and not seen a poster or just not bothered to phone. Not everyone is a dog lover and some people would see a dog loose and not give it a second thought. The weather?s been bad, he may be holed up somewhere so not out and about as much for anyone to see him. Likewise, if someone has caught him and taken him in they need to see a poster to be aware that he belongs to someone. In case he?s moved on a bit you could poster a wider area. Keep checking with the people who have a poster regardless of his microchip and tag, which could have come off by now. Did you put the cage up at the building site?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We've about given up with looking for him, and have resigned the fact that he's either a fair distance away from where we lost him (no more reported sightings) or he's been taken in by someone. Either way, I fear he may be gone.  I wish you all the best, little mate. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

He could have been hiding out because of the bad weather Mike. How's the building site thing going? Have you managed to put a cage up?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Has the hospital car park been targeted with posters as there would be a lot of people coming in and out every day so many more sets of eyes.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A call has come in of a sighting of Milo yesterday at 5.30pm in Cape Road heading down Albert Street. Cape Road was where Milo went missing from so it looks like he's staying in the area.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you all for your help so far.  Given the temperature outside overnight (or lack of) we're clinging onto the hope that someone has taken him in and not reported it. The other half printed a load of A4 posters out yesterday and we attacked the road that he went missing on last night.  I also cycled 10m each way down the canal squeaking his favourite toy to see if he had travelled down there, but no sign of him. My mother and her friends are coming on Saturday to help us get to all of the estates along the canal - we think he may have turned down one of those on his way home?  We're not sure though, it's so impossible to get right. Please come home Milo.  Nobody is cross, we miss you lots now.  Love Mike and Trish xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Various size posters were done very late last night (with both pics on) and emailed to SueC so Mike should have received them today.  Hope they help spread the word and we see Milo back home with his family soon.  Good luck.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Mike, so sorry that Milo is missing, but please try not to be too hard on yourselves, you need this energy to help you cope with looking for Milo, Terriers are hardy little souls and very good at fending for themselves food wise, please have a look at recently reunited Ethel(16641) from south east, JRT X in similar circumstances and also with a lead attached, she had become entangled in hedgerow insomeones garden quite close to where she went missing, I would have a look at a google map of your area and then go door to door along the roads asking people to check there gardens or better still if you could check incase he has become trapped just like Ethel. If you would like some smaller posters done to push through peoples letterboxes then just ask. Children are also very observant - if there's a school local to you ask if the school would let you put up a poster. Good luck in your search and poster like mad to make Milo so well known in your area.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Mike so sorry to see your lovely boy is missing, once the posters start getting circulated and the word gets around fingers crossed you get the call you are waiting for.  99% of the time it is the posters that get them home.  Some people who find dogs do not know that they should be reported to authorities etc.  Good luck.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you all for your kind words.  I don't think many realise just how painful the changing pictures under 'Latest Missing' are until their own dog comes up, and it starts to sink in that we may never see our boy again. My other half cannot have children due to medical reasons, and Milo was our child.  To lose him like this, not knowing how he is or what he's feeling is killing us slowly.  Neither of us can eat - we just shuffled our food around our plates like children tonight and sat wondering if there was any way we could have been better owners.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry for you Mike, my two bitches have gone missing too. I know exactly how you feel SOMEONE most have seen them.  Posters, posters, posters.  I have had a lot of people ring in response to my posters just to say they are looking out for them.

Sorry I'm too far away to help out Mike.  In cases where I've been able to go and help the posters have been invaluable.  Print as many off as you can and stick them to lamp posts; bus stops and anywhere else you can.  Good luck with your search.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

He doesn't appear to be anywhere obvious.  I'm a little disappointed in society, someone HAS to have seen my boy running around with half a lead attached, and ignored him. I feel lost, and I really don't know what else to do.  Nothing will ever replace the hole in my heart.  The other half is equally devastated.  We just want him back.  Please, someone must know something.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
