Put up some additional posters around Ossett yesterday, mainly on the main A638 which is a main route for cars and pedestrians. Also put poster in local rescue kennels. RachelLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke with owner today. There does not seem to be any better picture than the one on the site already. She has posted in a 3 mile radius of her home and  put flyers out. I will go to the area tomorrow morning and check if there is anywhere else that mightbenefit from doing. She is also checking with kennels/wardens etc.  RachelLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm going to be in Dewsbury on this Wednesday/not far from  Ossett. I know the area well enough to put some posters up  if this is of any help. Just let me know by Tuesday so I can get them printed. RachelLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Might be useful to get posters in at Springfield as they are based in Ossett and people also go to board their pets there ,  I can get some over to Whitehall Dog rescue at Wakefield as he also goes to pounds etc. Lets hope we can this sweetie home home soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have now uploaded much improved photo, scanned from owners own poster.  Sent by post lots of various size posters to her owner today who has had no definate reported sightings.  Becky may well have been taken in and not reported to the DW or right authorities yet.  Owner has been postering in the area.  Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Copy of photo now received by post from owner of previous dog which is described as being the spitting image, only difference is Becky's ears are upright.  Owner says she is more like a Golden Retriever.  Unfortunately we do not have GSD/Golden Retriever in the breed list.   I'll try and improve the picture and reload but best can do at the moment.  Thanks Malakai for taking the time to post on Becky's page, I have passed your details onto her owner who will not have internet access until about two weeks.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm sorry I don't remember the colouring but I immediately recognised it as a GSD although it didn't have the exaggerated topline that many of the show dogs do, it was more of a pet type if that makes sense? This sighting was about 100yds from Kettlethorpe Pond and it headed off down Dodworth Drive which would have taken it in the direction of Newmillerdam, Crigglestone. It was definitely a youngster which is why it caught my eye, very much a puppy, my estimate is 6-9months and dare I say quite feminine looking? JoanLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner is going to send photo/s by post so I can scan them and upload, but will still try and send by phone if possible. Posters have been getting put up in the area. Malakai was the dog you seen a GSD and typical Black & Tan colouring or was it a Golden colour?  Thanks.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to Becky's owner.  Becky is described more like a Golden Retriever in looks, owner has found photo/s of a previous dog which is the spitting image of Becky.  Have talked through how to hopefully send a photo by mobile phone taking a picture of the ones they have got.  Owner does not have internet and was only given the mobile phone yesterday and is not used to taking photos.  We desperately need a photo so we can see what Becky is like.  Quite late in the evening now so may not get it until tomorrow.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I don't know if this will help but I spotted a young GSD from my bedroom window yesterday morning. It had gone by the time I was dressed. Was definitely a young dog, looked very nervous and was sniffing into the garden over the road but seemed to jump at any noise. That's Kettlethorpe about 5 miles from Ossett?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I hope we can get a pic of this girl as would make it easier to identify her if come across any found ones, but is difficult if owners dont have internet access either.  What are the chances of cobbling together a similar pic ( if owners can be very descriptive ) ?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have spoken to Becky's owner and we are trying to see if the kennels still have a photo of Becky. This girl just disappeared from the owners land. Her owner thought her land  was secure but has found a small hole it would have been possible for Becky to crawl through. Hoping for some news of this girl very soon xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner has no internet access at the moment and no photo. Have suggested that the rescue she got the dog from may have a photo.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
