Patch has been found on the 19/11 by Mandy and her family following a response to one of hundreds of posters that they had printed. So very happy for them and well deserved because of all of there efforts. Sean(DW)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Email from very happy owners: Hi Jan, Just to say we were re-uninted with Patch last night. Thank God. Prayers have been answered. We had a lady phone us yesterday morning to say that she had seen one of our posters and had seen Patch on the day he had gone missing not far from our home running along a very busy road. This seemed more likely than the other sitings as it backs on to fields where we walk him. We then decided to poster in that direction and so sat and printed anther 50 posters and laminated them. We didn't think we would be able to do it that night as we all should have been out at an event which was then cancelled, so in the end we did start to put our posters up. Following the first poster a farmer had seen us putting it up and phoned as we were leaving as he had seen Patch in his field as was just on his way to get his gun to SHOOT HIM!!! 6 of us searched in the black of night in a muddy field and eventually he came to us after maybe 15 to 20 minutes. You can imagine our elation after loosing him for 10 days. We have 3 boys who can now sleep at night. Our family and the whole community here is delighted. Patch has become quite a famous lost dog with over 100 posters out, the shop that I own had been ablaze with posters and cardboard photos standing up on the counters. We have given fliers to all our customers and announced him missing in every newspapers in a 30 mile radius. Patch has also had a slot on BBC Radio Stoke. We had also just ordered another 1000 fliers and planned to give them out to shoppers in Crewe, Nantwich and Middlewich on Saturday. So, Patch had minutes to spare by the sounds of things. What a chain of events. If the lady hadn't phoned in the morning we wouldn't have thought of postering that area. If we hadn't have put the first one where we did, the farmer wouldn't have seen it, and if our event hadn't have been cancelled we wouldn't have been there in the first place. Patch is now much thinner than he was, but seems to have lived off his middle age spread!!. His poor feet had been bleeding and he was very dirty. So after a lovely bath, good food, but not too much straight away, lots of fresh water and hours and hours of sleep he's getting back to his old self. He paid a visit to the vet today who seems to think he will be ok. So Jan , thank you so much for all your help and advise. I think posters and prayers really do work. Not sure I'd like to see my children sprinkling their "wee" around the district again, but something we've laughed about today. A success story - thank you, Mandy and family and of course PatchLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to family member again and they have had reported sightings from the DW.  Where they live backs onto open fields.  Have explained what to do if they see Patch and emailed SCENTING & MAPPING instructions and links to other dogs pages to gain advice.  Hopefully Mandy who is the main family member who is dealing with the phonecalls etc will update us on the sightings etc.  Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Mandy sorry to see Patch is missing, thanks for registering and putting his details on DL, we will do all we can to help you in your search.  Can you please upload a photo or email to admin@doglost.co.uk any problems with a photo let us know.  You need to poster poster poster the area as much as possible.  Posters can be printed on a photo has been uploaded by selecting Dog Poster 1  just above Dog Information (you must be logged in).   Contact DW’s, rescues, vets and leave a poster (you can find vets in the area by clicking on the logo right hand side just underneath Latest Missing photo).  Dogs can be rehomed after 7 days, try and visit do not rely on phone calls alone.  Do update us on who has been contacted ie DW’s etc and if you have started postering.  You can leave a comment by selecting  Add a comment just above Comments.  Good luck and hope he is found soon.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
