Check ALL outbuidings, including empty houses and cellars THOROUGHLY as some cats will hide in or behind an object within especially if timid, And cats can stay very still, and quiet. They are renowned for it. Bear in mind too that cats have very flexible spines so they can squeeze into very small spaces (About 2".3" 7/7.5 cm) So has he climbed into a partially opened window in some outbuilding, and is now trapped? Exit can be difficult for some cats. Check trees; any deckings too. Empty contents of the hoover onto the garden as his scent will be therel litter tray contents too. But DO NOT leave the litter tray/box outside as other cats could use it, and this may upset, and confuse the cat. Put some tuna/sardines or some warm chicken in his dish, and call him; night/early morning is best. Rattle some treats too. Place his UNWASHED blanklet into a clran container along with your scent too. Leave in the garden in a sheltered spot or hang on the washing line if dry; used towels too. Wipe his scent on your garden fences, gates, doors too; anything leading uo to the garden. Try a squeky toy as it may attract his attention. Just becaue you can`t see a cat, it doesn`t mean they aren`t around. Take a good walk around the area, holding an object with his scent on, and rattle some Dreamies. Someone maybe feeding him (Common problem) When it`s nightfall, and you are searchihg use a strong torch as the light will reflect a cats eyes. Poster around the area and post flyers through doors too. Post in shops; post offices too, if you can. Post a LOST CAT ad in a National newspaper in case he has climbed into a vehicle which isn`t uncommon for cats to do. Also is there a dominant cat in the area? As sometimes they will chase a less confident cat out of it`s own territory. However the chased cat will not usually return unil they think it`s "safe" enough for them to do so. Another reason why a cat may go missing is if there is a change in the house, eg A new baby or a new pet? Even cats can feel left out in a new situation. And some cats will "Pack their bags" and leave home. Cats hate change of any kind. Paws, and fingers xd.
