Unfortunately no news or sightings of Jess. The MOD guards are still on the look out and every patrol they make (which is every 2 hours) they are still keeping an eye out - they are being so helpful which is lovely.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes we used the tripe but no takers!! have taken the trap down for the weekend as i am off until Tuesday. and it needs to be watched carfully and my gut instinct tells me it is in the wrong place until we get a sighting. Sue can get hold of me if the trap is needed before i get back to work on Tuesday. There has been no sign of her today! her owners have walked the other end of the MOD land but nothing! the gaurds are still watching out for her. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the update Val. Did Jess's owners manage to get some really stinky food to put in the trap (tripe?)? I did suggest to them also putting some tripe in an old pair of tights and dragging it from outside the trap right into it, to the back, just as an extra attempt to get her to it. As you say, its difficult to know where she is now until there is another sighting but hopefully fingers crossed, she will be spotted soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No sign of her over night and the trap has not been accessed so is still there until later. I am monitoring it as much as possible. the owners are trying to get access to land further towards Wakering as she may have moved away. Until we get a sighting again it is difficult to know what to do next!! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just been speaking to owners......they are devastated. They had not long had Jess - she is a cruelty case rescue - when she got loose. Near Shoebury East Beach there is a large MOD area, and 10 mins after Jess ran off she was seen on their cameras. The owners have been doing a stirling job and have been working so hard given the access restrictions onto MOD land. The MOD have been co-operating, especially a dog friendly man there, and have been looking out when they have been up in the helicopter as well. They have seen her a few times (although she has not been seen for the last 2 days) and she seems to be staying around a similar area which is good. The nice man at MOD has been leaving food down and owners have managed to get permission via MP at Westiminster to allow the dog warden on the site to set up a trap. I have strongly advised them to use some nice stinky food e.g. tripe, pilchards rather than her normal food. We had to cut the conversation short as they needed to get down there for 1pm when the trap is being set up and they wanted to get some tripe before so I will speak to them later and see how things have gone. Thank you for the support MOD and dog warden! Jess is very nervous and should not be approached. Owner does not have internet access. A photo is not available via email or mobile phone, when I speak to them later I will sort out a similar photo or will help with scanning in a normal photo. Fingers crossed it will not be too long before Jess is caught.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
