Check ALL outbuildings, including empty houses, and cellars, THOROUGHLY as some cats will hide, in or behind an object within, especially if timid. Bear in mind too that cats have very flexible spines, and collar bones so they can squeeze into very small spaces (About 3" wide 7cm) So has Bella managed to get through a partially opened window in an empty house and is now traped? Exit can be difficult; depends on the drop. Cats can survivce without food for weeks. They lick on relevan items to keep themselves hydrated. When asking neigbours to check their outbuildings, make sure you are present, as cats can stay very still and quiet. They are renowned for it. Check trees; any decking too. Put somne tuna/sardines, or chicken in her dish, amd call her; night/early moenig is best. Rattle some treats too, (Just because you can`t see a cat it doesn`t mean they aren`t around) Place her UNWASHED blanket into a clean contaier, along with your scent too. Place in the garden in a sheltetred spot, or hang on the washing line if dry; used towels too. Empty contents of the hoover onto the garden as her scent will be there; litter tray contents too. DO NOT leave the litter box/tray outside as other cats may use it;, and it wil confuse thecat. Litter tray/box contents only. Wipe her scent on all your garden fences, gates, doors too; anything leading up to the garden. Try a squeaky toy as it may attract her attention. Take a good walk around the area. holding an object with her scent on, and rattle sonme Dreamies. Someone maybe feeding her (Common problem). When it`s nightfall, and you are searchihg use a strong torch as the light will reflect a cats eyes. Poster around the area, and post flyers through doos too. Ask around, especially thoae with children, as they can be very observant, especially where animals are concerned. Ask neighbours if they happen to remember having had a delivery on that day; the day Bella went awol. Post in shops. post offices too Hand out as mnay posters as you can; where, and when you can. Ask family, friends, and neighbours to share as well as DL. Twitter too. And ia there a dominant cat in the area?sonmetimes they will chase a less confident cat ooy of it`s own territory. However the chased cat won`t return until they think it`s "Safe " enough for thenm to do so. Paws xd. Last edited: 2020-02-04 11:59:37
